What exactly was LF supposed to get out of selling Sansa to the Boltons?
Also, I have bad news. they won't start filming most of the season 7 until December, winter has arrived on the show, and they have to wait for winter in Ireland. Which means we won't get to watch the episodes until May or June of 2017. Hopefully they can film the King's Landing scenes and any non snowing scenes before December.

I think season 5 was worse, and at this point we are just sprinting towards the end of the show and trying to wrap things up, and things are happening that don't make much sense.
I actually liked the Bran storyline, the Cercei story, and Jaime's. Arya's becoming an Xman, Jon becoming King out of nowhere, and some of the rest of it, was just insane. Sam's father not hunting him down,
Also Slim, Howland Reed probably knows Jon Targarean's secret. It is a hell of a coincidence that his daughter is helping Bran.
I think that when you have 10 hours of screentime per season you have to necessarily. Especially with so many caracteres like in GOT. It麓s frustrating when you see so many peaple comparing the show to the books. They are completely different mediums.

My guess is that he planned to kill Roose and Ramsay, then marry Sansa. With the combined titles, he would have controlled at least a third of Westeros and, with weak Tommen on the throne, could have marched South and taken Kings Landing with ease. Especially since he probably could have counted on support from the Tyrells.
It's pure speculation but, if he knew about Cersei's plans, he would have been marching on KL just as everyone was pissed enough to welcome anyone who could depose her. But the North rallied around Jon and ruined the opportunity.
Marco polo season 2 leaves GOT in the dust. That is how you write political intrigue. D and D should take notes. Ahmad is the Arabic Little Finger. And Kublai is the Mongolian Robert Baratheon.

Does it contain any girl power / SJW / gay propaganda bullshit?
^They do try to squeeze in some girl power with a female ninja who can run as fast a horse but this is ancient China so it is minimal. Havent seen any men kissing or social justice warriors. Give it a shot, especially season 2.
I honestly can't predict much about the show unless I start thinking illogically and use the Occam's Razor of stupidity to arrive at conclusions.
LF giving Sansa to the Boltons had no rationale at all. In the show I guess he was trying to gain a Northern alliance, but it goes against his entire character. Sansa is too valuable to just give away.
I am very excited in finding out more White Walker backstory, though I don't think the show will do it much justice.
I am still hoping for Dany to be a villain, but knowing what I do now about GRRM's cuckery, who the hell knows.
The greyscale seems to be a Chekov's gun they've left hanging. Okay, here's a bold prediction:
Jorah goes to the Citadel to find a cure for Greyscale, and him and Sam together find that the cure is the same as that for White Walker-ism!
It will be revealed that what helped quell Shireen's greyscale was not any exotic healer, but the high quantity of Obsidian/Dragonglass deposits on Dragonstone, where she grew up. Boom. Take that to the bank.

One thing I'm surprised not many people have picked up on is the gradual increase of extreme violence that the show has exposed it's viewers to.
From the first episode on, it contained obscene levels of violence, almost rivaling the Saw movie series. No doubt, this was part of the draw of the series. Considering how much violence we're exposed to in pop culture at an early age, I'm kind of alarmed at how we're growing increasingly desensitized to it.
When Clockwork Orange came out in the 70s, it caused a sensation, and it was difficult to even find a place to view it. When I actually watched it, I didn't see what all the fuss was about, which is kind of telling in itself.
As the series has progressed, the level of violence has progressed. One thing that bothered me was the hanging of the little boy in the night's watch. In the book Night, a mandatory book we read in school, the hanging of a child was considered shocking, but now a live stream of it is considered pop entertainment.
In one of the later episodes, we see an old man being stabbed to death by even younger, perhaps preschool age children in a dark alleyway. Pretty messed up if you stop and think about it for a moment.

The kid had it coming, Shireen was completely innocent but was burned alive.

I think you missed the point I was trying to make.
Why even write graphic violence towards children into the plotline to begin with?
Why promote shameless grrlpower and eunuch themes throughout the entire series?
You could argue it's simply R.R. Martin's writing style, but why did HBO choose to pick up and promote this book series above all others?
I don't buy that you need themes of ultra-violence and machiavellianism to attract a modern audience. With good directors, actors, writers, and enough production funding, many themes become available. What themes does this series promote?
Well, in the real world, when civilization breaks down lots of bad shit does happen to kids. GRRM seems to be going for a realistic level of brutality, in the books at least.

Originally, the series was picked up and created and became popular not just because of the fantasy elements of dragons and magic and whatnot, but the politicking, plotting, and planning from characters like Varys and Littlefinger that drove the first few seasons.
Essentially, that ideas are more potent than brawn, the pen is mightier than the sword.
I would argue that both are important(you need the brawn to back up and enforce your plots, or at least the coin to buy a mercenary army of green berets like the Gold Cloaks.)
Here are a few more videos. The first is about lightbringer, essentially saying that Dawn, the sword from House Dane, last wielded by Arthur Dayne and crafted from a meteorite is the lightbringer that will vanquish the white walkers and be wielded by Azhor Ahai(either Jon or Dany I guess)
and then a series of videos about the different Targaryen kings, some were pretty good, some pretty crazy
And now that I think about it, I am sort of surprised that the little birds were so loyal to Qyburn that they would assassinate Pycel. He must of given them extra candied plums for that.
Anyone who wants to see the true greatness of this series, which the show held up to some extent through Season 4, should read the books, or watch all of Preston Jacob's videos about the books.
The Brienne-Hound fight of season 4 was the first significant grrrl power deviation of the show, and from Season 5 this became the norm. Interesting to note that as soon as the show started adding grrrl power deviations the quality went way down. This is not because female strength is bad, but because there already logical female strength in the books, and adding more deviates it from the story's reality in a deleterious way.

Marco Polo is a good show, thanks to all for mentioning it. But there almost seems to be too much going on to follow. MARCO POLO SPOILERS, don't read if you haven't watched the show, maybe I should make another thread for this?
In season 1, it looked like 1000 eyes snuck into the Chinese capital and fought the Chinese chancellor and lost but then he shows up at the end of the season and fights him and wins. How is he not dead? They just show the chancellor later in the episode with blood on him, and I thought he must have won, but apparently 1000 eyes lost and got away?
In season 2, it looks like the empress is trying to get the blue princess pregnant after she marries her son, but she assumes the son cannot have children because he is on his 4th wife and none got pregnant. It looks like the empress is going to have one of the servants impregnate the blue princess but then she seems to kill her?! but then she isn't dead but maybe just knocked out? I don't understand why it looks like she killed her? I forget what episode, but at some point in season 2.
Is the blue princess going crazy from being pregnant? I don't really get why she would suddenly start hallucinating? Guilt from stealing the identity from the real blue princess catches up with her?
Why does one of Kublai's sons betray him? Achmed goes to a prostitute who sings him a familiar song so he kills her and decides to plot against his father? What am I missing?
And why are you people telling me there is no grrl power in this show? One of the prostitutes is apparently a green beret lotus assassin? And 1000 eyes girlfriend is also an elite assassin? And the Khan's niece is also some sort of wrestling champion and the greatest fighter who ever lived?(apparently this is somewhat based on historical fact) And guys on here are saying there is no grrl power?
edit
also setting the horses on fire and expecting them to run a great distance into an enemy encampment and set off the gunpowder seems like such a gamble and not very realistic, sure it worked in the storyline but it just makes Kublai's victory look lucky and not well planned.

Pretty sure Hundred Eyes killed Sidao. Empress doesn't kill Nergui, she just scares her by telling her she knows she's a servant. Yes she's going crazy from guilt and hormones. Achmad fucked his mom, then killed her after he realized what he did. This is apparently also when he decides to take vengeance on Kublai. The horses had time to not burn to death because they were coated in wax, same as the birds. Not necessarily realistic, but there are many accounts throughout history of conquerors doing this from Harald Hardrada to Genghis Khan.
Just finished the last season. Definitely the most feminist yet, you can really see they are softening their edge.
A great example is the scene with Sam and his father, the way his mother acts towards her husband, a guy who has been constructed as a character who takes no disrespect from anyone.
Or look at Lady Mormont and her pep talk at the end of episode 10. A girl of less than 10 years whose house had 63 fighting men would not be taken seriously.
The bodyguard of the Prince of Dorne, a giant of a man, is killed by one of the handmaidens: stabbed once while in full armor by a 4" knife.
These are all scenes where tier 3 female characters are presented as ridiculously powerful. It is one thing to suspend disbelief of main characters, but when it happens even in the minor roles there is bias.
To say nothing of that puke inducing scene between the dragon queen and the pirate girl. Or, well, any scene with the former.
I suppose that you could say it sold out, preferring fan service to telling a core story.
The next time I get the idea to watch GoT I'll just reread Thucydides.
Robb wasn't taken seriously by most of the Northern Lords in the 2nd season as the 25 year old son of the Warden of the North until he had a few victories against the most powerful Great House in the Seven Kingdoms.
2nd Season - Robb must establish himself as arguably the preeminent battlefield commander in the Seven Kingdoms AND be the son of Ned Stark to win the favor of lesser Houses.
6th Season - little girl of one the poorer and smallest Houses of the North harangues fucking Wyman Manderly of all people (right, book readers? fuck yeah) and everyone tucks their tails. Feminist infiltration has taken full effect.

Indeed. I first started really noticing this with the Theon torture scenes. In the books you think him dead, until it's revealed that he's been kept alive by Ramsay the entire time - tortured to the point of madness. The torture is described via flashbacks, and is both horrific and morbidly fascinating. In the show, the scenes played out like pornography. I took to leaving the room and getting something to eat during them; not out of squeamishness (I subjected myself to Men Behind the Sun because I believe those poor victims of Unit 731 deserve acknowledgement), but because it seemed to me that the viewer was supposed to be enjoying them... that's what sickened me.
Then there was the trend - becoming apparent this season - of powerful women being allied to eunuchs.
There's some sick energy flowing through the show these days. The cuckold fetish of Western civilization riding hard, with girl power and emasculated men. When you combine it with how far it's diverging from the books (in all the wrong ways), I'm left wondering if I'll bother following it in future seasons.

Interesting that the show also includes allusions to lucifer. Here we have a weapon known as the lightbringer (one of lucifer's nicknames) that descends from the heavens, giving the wielder earthly power.
Not really GOT, but Preston Jacobs posted a video of his wedding over the weekend, and I didn't get very far into the video. He married a 6 and he is reading his vows, he starts off by pedestalizing her by telling her "You are so beautiful, I don't know why you would talk to me much less marry me".
