Westeros is a blend of the european main continent and primarily England. The Wildlings are obviously based on Vikings. Dornish = southern europeans.

The Dornish are Spanish. Right down to the insane women.

There were Martell (Dornish) ships in the final shot of Daenery's fleet. So either Daenery's and the Ironborne's (Yara's) ships sailed from the Maureen and picked up Varys and the Dornish ships from Dorne en route to kings landing or the Dornish ships met Daenery's fleet at sea.

I liked this season but now I have the impression that GoT is only about Girl-Power. All the protagonists are female now.

Jon Snow for the win. Dany is an absolute hateful bitch, and only got half her damn followers when she said she'll let them kill everybody on a different continent.

But the show was pretty ok paced this season, not like last time.

Tommen's death scene will make a good "Fuck this shit, i'm out!" gif.

I assume his end game is collect obsidian and other weapons that will work against the white walkers. But really, he needs fire attacks, and they just sent the red woman away. I get it: family, duty, honor etc. and killing Shireen was not really forgivable.

Looking at how overpowered Arya is right now, I can't help but wonder how exactly Jaqen ended up in a cell in the first place back in season 1(or 2? I forget). I assume Varys hired him to get Ned either to the wall, or to Young Griff, it must have been to get him to Griff, because he even commissioned a Bravosi ship to get them to Griff. But then Ned got executed and Arya took Ned's spot, I guess that's what happened?

Great opening sequence in King's Landing. My only gripe with it is that Cersei put together this master plan, only to then completely ruin it by not taking any precautions against her known-EMO son taking a dive. You'd think she should know his weak personality and consider that seeing wifey killed and half his capitol blown up right in front of his face might put him over the edge. Instead, she just let him be alone in front of a hole in the wall of a tall building. Makes no sense.

Lancel Lannister being a useless cunt as usual. In the time he took to take in the scenery every few moments, he could have put out those candles.

The banishment of the Red Woman is also a head scratcher. John Snow asked her for last words, and she quite cogently stated the case that she will be useful in the battle against the White Walkers. Her speech was not based on repentance or apology, but on sound logical reasoning. So what does John Snow do? He does the exact opposite of logic. He doesn't punish her, but he sends her away where she can be of no use.

This reminds me of that Chaos monologue Littlefinger gave around season 3? that said power and influence was an illusion. It was only the struggle and ultimate victory that matters.

Ulead Gif Animator 5. An old app, relatively speaking, but a goodie.

Had to trim the clip, and convert to avi first (since the full episode was an .mkv that I *ahem* 'found' on the intertubes).

Most of the time, however, if the segment that you want exists on Youtube (or wherever) it's easier to simply use an online video-to-gif site. Imgur's is pretty good, and gifsoup ain't bad. Don't think you can add effects or text with those, though.

You're right about the distance. It was 100 leagues and I thought 100 miles. So that does make their trip roughly 2500 miles. A quick trip to google reveals that a modern sail boat has a max speed of about 7-8knots. This archaic shit on the TV show is probably capable of 5knots. That comes out to just shy of 6mph, but we'll lower it to 4-5mph. If the current and winds are favorable and you don't have to zigzag, you should be able to cover 90-110 miles per day. If they don't have to stop, encounter bad weather, etc, I suppose they could pull it off in 4-6 weeks.

It's a very entertaining show with a lot of fantasy. So sit back and enjoy it.

Yes, there is a lot of girl power in the show, the only one that annoys me is Arya Stark. In real life she would be dead or some pervert's bitch.

The last two shows were simply epic, watching the battle of the bastards made me glad I was born in this era.

What was your favourite moment from the season finale? For me it is the King jumping out the window, never saw that coming.

Why did he jump out the window? I didn't pay enough attention to his storyline to see what was going on there.

You're forgetting Brienne. It really is quite absurd. Jon Snow is an absolute dolt and even the brilliant Tyrion has been reduced to the position of Dany's lackey. Compare how his character has developed (not at all) since season 1 to that Mary Sue.
