He's also not accounting for through and through shots that could easily kill two people packed into such a tight space. Also, there would have been shrapnel in the form of bullet pieces flying everywhere after they struck bone. It only takes a minuscule piece of metal to kill.

Is anyone really surprised? I mean, this is the same set of government bureaucracies that let the Orlando shooter's father through immigration despite a seriously questionable past, let his son buy an AR-15 with a history of extremist behaviour, and demanded a legislative backdoor for iPhones despite knowing they could break in by other means. Why should the NSA actually be any smarter? These guys are not geniuses.

FYI: Omar Mateen used a Sig Sauer MCX not an AR-15.

But so does your input in this thread, you're bringing zero to this conversation.

Either you're reacting emotionally to this or aren't understanding what I'm trying to say, so let me reiterate for you, why you should care:

-This is a wake up call (again) for domestic and foreign Islamic Terrorism
-There is a great struggle more than ever between Islam and the West
-Gun rights/purchases may be affected or tightened
-The MSM is trying to push this as a hate crime instead of a terrorist act
-Trump is getting under Obama's skin about calling it "Radical Islamic Terrorism"
-Many are waking up and realizing that BS being fed to them by the MSM
-Trump had another "I TOLD YOU SO !" moment, which helps solidify votes
-Even some LGBT members are realizing the truth about Islam

Like I said before, whether you like it or not ALL of us are in this culture war.

As for the LGBT and SJW's Page 15 of this thread:

As Ex-Muslim humanitarian activists like Sarah Haider find out painfully - they realize that feminists actually oppose them when they start to talk in any way or form negatively about the religion of peace.

They are completely befuddled about this lack of action on the part of feminists who simply coddle Islamists as an oppressed group that needs protection.

What this activist doesn't realize is that feminism is top-down created and will follow the globalist agenda - that is why they don't oppose Islam. Of course when globalists change the direction, then the same SJW-feminists will be whipped into a frenzy doing the bidding of their real patriarchal masters.

That article is why I have more or less given up on Western civilization. It will survive in some form, but the countries will disappear.

The only good thing is that in the next civil war/ WW3 that is coming "hypermasculine" men will be valued once again and many feminists will find out painfully that their girl moxy powers will account for nothing. In fact millions might get a stint as sex slaves.

Because as the lying scumbag Reza Azlan said - Mohammed abolished slavery. What he did not say was that it worked only on Muslims - non-Muslims were fine to be enslaved in any shape or form.

They are valued every time there's a natural disaster, every time the power goes out, or any time someone is in danger.

Women LOVE hypermasculinity. They just want it when it's convenient for them. The problem is that someone needs to keep reminding women like this writer, LISA WADE, of this. Getting rid of hypermasculinity means no brave men saving lives, protecting the populace, or putting their lives in danger during the hurricane. Weak, non-masculine men don't do these things.

We used to instinctively know that but feminism repressed the discussion. Let's make it a point to remind everyone that for every Brock Turner or Omar Manteen, there are thousands upon thousands of hypermasculine guys kicking ass in the name of good.

Fuck Lisa Wade. (And thanks for remembering to post the writer's name with the story. We need to do more of this. Now when people Google her, my tirade will come up.)

The posters were attracting attention in front of the Pacific Design Center, The Abbey, West Hollywood City Hall and in front of artist Chad Michael Morrisette's house. Morrisette had covered the roof of his house with 50 mannequins to make a statement about the Orlando shootings.

Sen Manchin (D): Due process is killing us right now

Quote:"The problem we have—and really, the firewall we have right now, is due process. It's all due process. So we can all say, 'yeah, we want the same thing,' but how do we get there. If a person is on a terrorist watch list like the gentleman—the shooter—in Orlando, he was, twice by the FBI, we were briefed yesterday about what happened. But that man was brought in twice. They did everything they could. The FBI did everything they were supposed to do. But there was no way for them to keep him on the nix list or keep him off the gun buy list. There was no way to do that. So can't we say that if a person is under suspicion, there should be a five year period of time that we have to see if good behavior, if this person continues the same traits? Maybe we can come to that type of an agreement. But due process is what's killing us right now."

If anything I'd say the balance is on the police protecting their own lives, considering how long they waited before going in. We have to cut them some slack. They stormed the main rooms, but did not check out the bathrooms, where 18+ were hidden. The cops had the information that the guy had a suicide vest on. Some of those vests or most are stuck with verious forms of debris - metal balls, nails etc. That stuff could have impacted them pretty far away even with full SWAT gear.

But of course it took way too long to resolve the crisis.

I foresee night clubs - and especially gay clubs to ramp up security measures - heavily armed security guards, more cash for off-duty cops, massive double steel doors in the entry area. It's just shitty that the West has to adopt Israeli security measures now - only in societies which fear racial profiling - that is a big drawback.

They initiated those campaigns against homophobes bashing gays, but it turns out that a bigger danger came from another "oppressed" group. What a bullshit. It's a group that had roughly 1 mio. + slaves (yes - slaves - black and white ones) still living in Turkey, Saudi Arabia and other Islamic countries by the 1950s. I am truly amazed how little the left knows about true history and the mindsets of folk around the world.

Of course I agree with Milo on this front - gays should be armed in the new coming times, so should be Jews and most women in countries like Germany, France. Heck in Belgium and France you should consider wearing a vest and carrying concealed while sipping your cappucino. Also have an assault rifle ready in your apartment or office - that would have easily stopped the perps in the Charlie Hebdo desaster.

"The lead singer from the Grateful Dead. Completely unable to let go of their dogmas. The boomer generation truly fucked up the world."

I like the Grateful Dead—much like my conservative counterparts, Ann Coulter and Tucker Carlson. It’s odd to see Bob Weir speak openly about politics, since the Grateful Dead were notoriously reticent for most of their careers: they rarely spoke on stage, unlike political singers such as Bono. But a cursory overview of Bob Weir’s situation is revealing:

1.) Many fans of the Grateful Dead don’t take his current performances seriously. As far as many Deadheads are concerned, the band ended when Jerry Garcia died in 1995. Many of these fans have stopped going to see the remaining members in concert. Other fans of the band will even mock the remaining members for their attempts to continue playing. No doubt this is frustrating for him.

2.) Bob Weir’s solo career, since Jerry Garcia’s death, has been largely unsuccessful. He has released one album in the last twenty years, Evening Moods, which most of his fans were ambivalent towards. Again, must be frustrating.

3.) He has battled a pain killer addiction over the last few years.

In short…I think that SJW behavior is almost always linked to feelings of personal and/or professional frustration. Think of Lady Gaga, who mocked feminism when she was on top; but then, when her albums started tanking, she began touting SJW platforms in her music.

Being a long-time fan of the band, I was kind of bummed to see this video. I always knew they leaned to the left, but I preferred when they weren’t vocal about it.

I could be wrong but it does not look like he wants to end due process itself. What he is trying to say is that he thinks due process is killing their ability to prevent these guys from obtaining firearms.

What the problem is that he has a lack of imagination. We do need more brilliant minds looking at the issue and coming up with ideas that fit within our constitution and laws.

One problem he did not think about is that the shooter had a state license to carry firearms. An FBI terror watch list may not be tied into the ATF and the State of Florida's License to Carry database and/or laws. From a state level, the states may be able to ban gun licenses, from their own citizens, if they receive access to FBI Terrorwatch lists.

This shit is not rocket science. I got this off the top of my head. If anything his comments show that he is either lazy or not qualified to look at all the possible vectors on an issue like this. He should defer this to his legal advisors if he has them, so that he does not make unintelligent comments on matters he has not fully thought about.

One messy issue I am sure Trump and the NRA are discussing is to make sure the watchlist bans are not used as a Liberal tyranny law to ban guns from legit Americans that a Liberal regime could use to hurt ultra-conservatives that disagree with federal laws or taxes, etc.

All that said, if anyone needs to suspend due process, it needs to be President Trump and he should use it to close down mosques that are radical or host radical training. I mentioned this earlier in the thread. He should just do it, and have his lawyers ready to fight the ACLU, because that is an automatic fight. Due process suspensions should still be last option. They just need to use common sense and think outside of the box more. Trump getting with the NRA is a very smart move. He is going to need their involvement to get anything through. Liberals that have already made up their minds, are not important. Some of the more moderate ones may be willing to get something done and meet them half way.

The problem with gun control is that it never ends, and the people who enact this stuff usually know nothing about firearms.

Prevent people on the watch list from buying. OK.

Then they can buy from an individual. So you ban all private sales and say it's enacting "universal background checks."

But you still have illegal straw purchases. So then you have get rid of the guns in circulation.

Enact an "assault weapons ban" so people can't have flash hiders or bayonet mounts. But the guns are functionally the same. Plus someone could kill just as many people with several pistols. It doesn't work.

So then...you have to ban all semiautomatics, and people are stuck with 100+ year old technology for defense.

But yes...the Left is >this< close to suspending the Constitution in this country, if they can, under the guise of 'antiterrorism.'

My theory is that "Muslim" takes priority over "gay" in SJW circles because of the race association. Race or being of a darker skin color will always take priority over whiteness.

Another example of this is the Israeli and Palestine conflict; there have been more liberal celebrities speaking out about it than the atrocities in North Korea (which are far worse in comparison) likely because it's viewed as an issue of "white skinned people" persecuting the "poor brown people".

On a practical level, a not-insignificant % of Muslims will kill them without hesitation, gays will not.

I get what you are saying but it is a little more nuanced than that. In this case, you are trying to control access to legal purchased firearms to known dangerous terrorists. The secret villain on no one's watchlist getting guns is always going to be a problem. The objective should be to close this "common sense" loophole in a manner that won't impede a legitimate citizen from gaining access.

The fact that a guy on a terror watch list, getting radical inside our country, obtained a state gun license because he had no felonies, is an obvious hole in our legal system. His license should have had some action taken upon it or something else. Would it have stopped this killer? Probably not, but that hole still needs to be addressed or filled in some way.

People will always be able to buy hot guns, ghost guns (no serials or fake ones), and other illegal weapons from places like Arizona, SF, etc. from illegal sellers. On paper there are laws for this, just need better enforcement. Once terrorists start using avenues like this, then we are going to have to go back to the drawing board again and address that. Let's get that low hanging fruit first.

Want we do not need to do is adopt a "fuck it" attitude in either direction, for or against gun control. We have not banned cars and drunk driving is a bigger problem. Sometimes laws don't work, but creative incentives might (ie public transportation). Outright banning guns or even all forms of Islam is not feasible. Americans should be able to put some braintrust together and do better than this. When guys think stuff like, "it's just fags, I don't care much." That misses the big picture. Today it's gays, tomorrow it will be some other group the Muslims will hate.

If an immigration ban ends up being the best workable solution, and we just have to constantly wack and track the ones here already, that get radical as they spring up, so be it! We still need to think through all the possible options and do the due diligence to close any holes and outstanding issues.

In a lot of ways if we could just get more people to carry guns it really would help. An armed society is a polite one. There are still alot of obstacles in the way of that. Laws like you cannot carry into businesses that make 51% of their profit with alcohol sales (nightclubs might fall into this category), and other various places that are opened to the public like churches. The trash inside our society knows this.

More incentives to carry can go a long way towards fixing things. If statistically a gunman is looking at bringing an AK to kill people at an outdoor festival with 2000 people in it, but mathematically speaking 5 out of 15 people carry guns via a license, he might think twice about that. Anytime an area is gun free zone or has the legally appropriate sign up, that is green light to scum. These places should be held more accountable to have adequate amounts of police around in situations like this, but yet this is not the case, and the trash knows this.

Well, how about the designated driver is allowed to carry in club/bar/etc.? 0% tolerance for b.a.c. if carrying.
At least the bartender should be armed.
Churches allow people to open carry to service, depending on the region you're in, it's treated like an article of clothing. If some of the congress who got killed in that church shooting were carrying, definitely would've been less dead, and the media wouldn't have said shit about it due to a private citizen saving the day with a firearm.

Instead of discussing making areas less safe (banning guns, gunfree zones, restrictions), they should be talking about ensuring safety, ie. arming more people responsibly. Like vaccines, inoculating the community so those who are vulnerable don't get infected.

Well in Texas at least, you cannot bring any gun inside a 51% place. Churches is up to the individual church here. Mine bans open and concealed with pisses me off. It's hard enough to find a good enough church that even Dalrock could approve, I'm not willing to look for another.

I agree with you on the media would not have liked talking about how a person put down an attacker. Local media would like it, but that would be it, they love bragging on local folks.

I fully agree on making pushes and drives to educate and arm folks. As much as the national govt hates that, not every state would be on board either. Even the ones with concealed carry unfortunately.
