UPDATE: Lesley Stahl is pushing the narrative about violence by pro-Trump protestors. I don't think Trump should have done this interview. He doesn't need the media now as much as they need him. He says he'll keep posting on social media as a check on the media's accuracy and fairness.

Cernovich tweeted:
Quote:Trump won because of social media, why is he giving interviews (ratings = money) to the fake news media? Drain the media swamp of ad money.

Resident aliens can as far as I know. I'm not sure of the specifics.

The "Biden trolls Trump" memes are actually pretty funny right now. Political humour that crosses party lines!

I didn't like the CBS interview at all. Still the same bull shit attacks from the media. "Trump supporters are dangerous." "Trump won't keep his campaign promises." "Trump is unhinged." "Look at this election day photo... Trump is shocked he actually won and doesn't have a plan."

Trump will need to cut out the middle man (the media) when he gets into office. Do weekly or biweekly addresses to the American people. Stream it on WhiteHouse.gov, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, RSBN, etc.. Let the American people know directly what is going on without the media filter.

Looks like this protester won't have to worry about his room and board during the Trump administration.

There's no reason Trump can't rewrite the rules for dealing with the media. Personally I'd like to see him transition from attacking the media to ignoring them, removing their access. That will hurt worse. As I mentioned above, Cernovich has been floating this idea: It's Time to Disband the White House Press Corps

He has many older tweets that state europeans have been discriminated in american immigration. Also has been open about allowing students who study in the US to stay here(they are disproportionally CAN/European). He has also stated multiple times that we want people to come here who respect our culture and love america, called for immediate immigration suspension countries that pose radical islamic threat.

We will find out very soon, probably with in 100 days of presidency.

I would not hold your breath.

Think of immigration as units in an economic sense. Not all workers are equal. Going after the illegal Mexicans opens the door for lower wage workers in American to get back into the system.

Encouraging Euros to migrate to the USA just creates competition for American workers. Some aspects may be tweaked a bit such as the H1-B program may live on simply because there is not American people who can fill the high-skilled vacancies. Even for me as being Canadian things may get more dicey with the gutting of NAFTA visas and easy paths towards work permits. I don't expect Trump to make it easier for anybody who isn't an American.

This is a point that is getting lost in all of this.... Trump can't be viewed as some savior for the West.. he is in the sense that the USA is not going to fall into flames just yet like Europe... yes.... But... he isn't going to give two fucks about Europe, Canada, Australia, Trump will burn all of us down if it helps the USA in the end. To many people thinking Trump some Euro savior when he just making sure his USA people can eat.

Where does Trump stand on Iraq and Afghanistan? Will American troops leave the Middle East completely? If the West wants unwanted foreigners out, will they also move out of foreign lands?

I think the Eurocrats are in for a rude awakening.

FT: Britain and France snub EU’s emergency Trump meeting

Quote:Britain and France on Sunday night snubbed a contentious EU emergency meeting to align the bloc’s approach to Donald Trump’s election, exposing rifts in Europe over the US vote.

Hailed by diplomats as a chance to “send a signal of what the EU expects” from Mr Trump, the plan fell into disarray after foreign ministers from the bloc’s two main military powers declined to attend the gathering demanded by Berlin and Brussels.

If you go by his past interviews he's not leaving Afghanistan any time soon. On October 6 he was interviewed by CNN:

Quote:"At some point, are they going to be there for the next 200 years? It's going to be a long time," Trump said, when asked about Afghanistan. "We made a terrible mistake getting involved there in the first place. We had real brilliant thinkers that didn't know what the hell they were doing. And it's a mess. And at this point, you probably have to stay because that thing will collapse about two seconds after they leave."

I would guess that Iraq is similarly a hole that the US can't get out of.

But that was before he started getting the full gamut of intelligence briefings and advice, so his view might change. I suspect that if Iraq and Afghanistan start presenting some real return on the massive military investment there he'd likely stay.

#1) Get rid of the IRS all together. It is a political army used by the left to harass and attack their political enemies. Flat tax and fair tax to replace the income tax.

#2) Raise the voting age to 25, except for active duty military. No more college children voting. And a federal issued voting ID should be created to go along with this to prevent all the voter fraud/illegals voting we see.

I think if he were to do these two things alone, and they would be HUGE changes, he would fix this country so much that he would not even have to do anything else. The country would sort itself out.

There are many more things I would like to see done, but these two are of the most importance to fix the country.

Simplify it even further:

Only those who register with selective services (men and women) are allowed to vote. Anyone who gets sent for active duty automatically gets 2 votes.

Isn't that the idea behind Starship Troopers?

Become a citizen of the federation and you get to vote, to propagate and many other perks.

This is the great tension in democracy: on one hand, if you don't require that someone has some skin in the game in order to vote, there is no incentive to educate people and instead engage in demographic destruction. On the other hand, if you do demand that someone needs skin in the game in some way to vote -- be it military service or land ownership -- the issue is then whether the people who do have skin in the game are going to act in the best interests of everyone. The US Founding Fathers were clearly on the side of only property ownership.

Heinlein's argument is essentially this: they only deserve freedom who are prepared to defend it. This isn't exactly Benjamin Franklin's famous quote, and I don't think Thomas Paine went precisely to it either, but when you see that inscribed on a RSL (Returned Servicemen's League, basically a Veterans' Association) wall, it's a moving argument.

I read on this thread a few days ago about Trump and the H1B via isssue... His new attornoy general appointment Jeff Sessions apparently has a bee in his bonnet about this issue, so hopefully he will go after the abuse of the visa

Long story short: yes, i feel military service or draft registration should be a requirement for the right to vote.

Starship Troopers and the history of Rome helped shaped that opinion.

^ But what about when there aren't any actual legitimate "protect our freedom" wars to fight? Should someone be given the right to vote for helping destroy Libya and as a result Europe?

Or by "military service" do we just mean has trained to be able to fight in case of war?
