Eight people face charges over broken King Tut mask
Quote:Eight museum employees will be charged with negligence after a botched reattachment of the beard on King Tutankhamun's mask, Egyptian authorities said.
King Tut's burial mask is displayed at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo and is considered a valuable artifact from ancient history.
There have been differing accounts of how the mask's blue-and-gold braided beard broke off since its damage came to light in 2014.
At the time, a museum conservator said the beard detached when the mask accidentally fell during cleaning. It was quickly reattached with a strong adhesive, but the glue left a gap between the face and the beard, the conservator said.
Others said the beard loosened with age.
Museum officials dismissed the claims when they emerged, saying reports of the mask's damage were unfounded.
Investigation opened
Prosecutors opened an investigation into the damage last year, saying workers did not follow protocol during restoration.
"The (museum) officials dealt recklessly with a piece of an artifact that is 3,300 years old, produced by one of the oldest civilizations in the world," the Administrative Prosecution said Saturday in a statement to state-run Ahram Online.
Prosecutors said the eight people who will be charged are six restorers and two former heads of the restoration section at the museum.
They are accused of negligence and violation of the professional rules of the workplace, the statement said.
It did not say when the trial will be.
Boy king
The boy king's elaborate burial mask, discovered in his tomb in 1922, is major tourist attraction and draws visitors from all over the world.
King Tutankhamun was 19 when he died, just 10 years into his reign. His mummified remains were sealed inside a sarcophagus.
Mask fixed
After the botched attempt, the museum brought in experts who fixed the mask.
King Tut's case is not the first time a historical treasure was damaged in a place where it's supposed to be safe.
Last year, a boy tore a hole in a $1.5 million artwork during a visit to a Leonardo da Vinci-themed show in Taipei, Taiwan.

There's actually some more interesting news coming out of Egypt. One archaeologist posited that Nefertiti's tomb might be a hidden chamber within King Tut's. A few thermal tests were done and they seem to point out this theory:
Quote:They are two of the most renowned figures in Egyptian history.
But, while King Tutankhamun owes his fame to the stunning treasures that were buried with him after his death, Queen Nefertiti is remembered for her remarkable life.
She ruled alongside her husband, Pharaoh Akhenaten, more than 3,300 years ago, during an era of both tremendous affluence and unprecedented social upheaval. A bust of her face, unearthed by archaeologists, attests to her legendary beauty. Her name translates as “a beautiful woman has come,” and her titles included “Lady of All Women,” “Great of Praises,” and “Mistress of Upper and Lower Egypt.”
And yet, the tomb of Nefertiti has never been found. Her mummified body, prepared for its journey to the afterlife, likely rests in the Valley of the Kings. But where?
Archaeologist Nicholas Reeves believes the illustrious Egyptian queen has been hiding in plain sight, within a large chamber behind a concealed door in the tomb of King Tutankhamun, which was discovered by Howard Carter in 1922. Recent scientific surveys of the ancient building have found tantalizing clues that are consistent with Reeves’ theories.
In the field of Egyptology, this would be pretty big. Aside from being famous because she was pretty, Nefertiti was a central figure in what could arguably be termed the first Year Zero revolution in history, so getting more understanding of it will be most interesting in the context of our own time, aside from the personal interest I take in Egypt and that period in particular.
I also wrote a bio about Thutmose III. He was a real badass.
This thread has taken more twists and turns than a heist genre film.
"I can count on one hand, literally, the number of women I have ever met that can take that kind of advice, accept it and make use of it without their epic egos setting metaphorical fire to the conversation.
Most women "looking for advice" are in reality looking for someone to validate their cosmic victimhood, because it's not really their fault, because it's never their fault. This behavioural trait isn't absent among men, but when we fail society cares not, while when women fail there is no shortage of comforting platitudes on offer from every vector."

It's odd, we're at a point where antibiotics are becoming ineffective against basic diseases and moderate voices have been eliminated by more virulent strains of liberalism.
Coincidence? I think not!
Anywho, does anyone know the TV show where Tuth's mummy fire crotch GIF came from?
I always died when I saw that.

IMHO, if you're not doing, one way or another, serious, committed politics, then you're not impacting society, you're just having fun for your own daily pleasure (which is fine, I'm not saying it's not, but life is about more than that).
Men should have strong principles, and this alone, unavoidably, will lead to a man choosing his (political) side and fighting for it, don't you think?
I think getting all worked up about politics and religion is a waste of time. Any political or religous concern someone has is just a projection of their own individual, unconscious worry.
Vote the way you want, but to get all worked up about it, to constantly talk about it, be concerned about it is such a waste of a life. There will always be two sides of the coin represented in this country. Vote for the one you identify more with and move on, and most importantly let everyone else move on. The world is going to sway in one direction for a while, then it will sway back in the other. And the cosmic joke is everyone takes themselves and their ability to "make a difference" so seriously. If there is a God, he's surely looking down and laughing his ass off at it all.
If you want to have an impact on society then try to understand what the deeper, psychological concern is that's associated with that particular issue. That issue you and the other "passionate" ones can't stop thinking/worrying about. Try to understand why the other side is so worried about having it their way.
Nobody does that though. Instead they yell, "this is the way it should be and if you don't agree you're a moron."
I don't see either party talking about Men's rights. How can anyone on this forum even support a candidate who doesn't have the balls to stand up and talk about that on national television?
Very much agree with this statement.
I remember in the 2000s, lots of Liberals were complaining that the country was going too far to the right under George Bush, with all the wars in both Iraq and Afghanistan, with Bush's tax cuts to the rich, etc... I still remember the "Not My President" Bush bumper stickers that Liberals would wear during the Bush administration. People were fed up with right-wing politics which led to the birth of Obamamania in 08. Americans did not want 4 more years of another Republican.
Fast-forward to now and you see the exact same thing, only this time people are complaining that the country is going too far to the left, which gave rise to Trump's popularity.
This cycle will continue and continue for the rest of our lifetimes, so to get all worked up about politics is pointless in my opinion.
Edit-Oh and also you have cucks on both sides of the aisles. Conservatives call Republicans cucks for compromising with the left, but Democrats also shame their candidates for compromising with the right. Many Democrats shame other Democrats for not being Liberal enough, and Michael Moore is one of them. I recall Michael Moore bashing Obamacare calling it a "joke" because it wasn't single payer. So you got essentially the same exact thing in both parties.

Tuthmosis' name actually comes from the Egyptian God 'Thoth' (God of the Moon, Magic and Writing) and the word 'Moses' (meaning 'son of').
Therefore, Tuthmosis is the son of a God - no wonder Tuthmosis' article writings were so good, he was born with it.
In Egyptian Mythology, Thoth took part in three major battles between Good and Evil. It is from this that I deduce that Tuthmosis has decided to carry on his fathers work in the battle between Good (manosphere) vs Evil (SJWs) which is why he has taken time away from the forum

I see the rooshv forum as a well moderated gentleman's club. The everything else sub-forum is a good way to learn about the world around us. We talk candidly about the double standards, the no standards and inconsistencies of world politics and everything in between. To deny that white people and generally white men are a scapegoat for all the ills of the world is disingenuous.
A board filled with men looking to bust a nut in just about any attractive girl from any country and race, can hardly call itself racist or moving in that direction. Especially when the forum isn't even owned by a white guy.
When white people are defending themselves from the hoards of the cultural Marxists who wish to see them gone, they get attacked most viciously by other white people. That's all you need to know to judge white people as a whole.

So you're too butthurt over some of the other members having different political opinions than you to enjoy the 7 out of 8 subforums that have nothing to do with politics? Why are you so special, that I and others have to share your views on guns and the elections? Are you so weak that seeing others expressing views that differ from yours throws you into a depression so severe that it makes a life traveling the world and chasing girls not worth living?

The Forum has gotten away from the topics that made it great. Another difference is the leadership of the senior members. In the past, they kept Threads in check by calling out questionable reports and advice that is predominantly based on theory as opposed to actual experience with girls.

I'm looking through your post history and most of your posts in the past year are from the Tinder and NFL thread.
I've noticed that most of the people in this thread complaining about the quality of the forum haven't done a whole lot to bring innovation or value to other members.

Sam, I don't see it as a quality problem, I see it as a relevance problem.
There are many, many forums related to gun control and politics. I see this forum as focused on the three topics I mentioned. Roosh's book titles support this with 17/22 having something to do with getting laid.
The Tinder thread has a hell of a lot more to do conceptually with "Rooshvforum" than many of the recent thread topics. You may not agree.
