RE: Is Tuthmosis still around?
He'd been getting really burnt out, as I remember. I think he didn't like the direction the forum was taking, and the manosphere was taking, away from game and more into politics. I can't blame the guy, honestly. Some people enjoy BSing about politics on forums, and some don't.
He was a writer, a mod, and active on twitter too. That takes a lot of effort, and he probably just didn't want to do it anymore. Can't keep it up forever.
He's missed, though. Truly a legend.

RE: Is Tuthmosis still around?
He's always identified as a liberal and I've always wondered if he disliked the more right wing/tradcon turn both the forum and Roosh has turned. If that's the reasoning for his departure (assuming he's gone) I think it's a loss since I think it's good to have opposing voices and he always had an articulate one. While the moderation here can be a bit harsh sometimes I think he has mostly done good in that regard which is even more impressive and a sign of his even-handiness since he had to constantly encounter opinions and stances that were the opposite of his.

RE: Is Tuthmosis still around?
Yeah, he was never big into the alt-right white power bullshit that pops up on this forum. To be honest, it seems like the posters who have openly identified as liberal or black or both have taken a step away, and just post in certain threads (can't remember the last time I saw Excelsior post out of the Black Hotness thread) if at all. And if that's the case, it's a huge loss for the manosphere. Tuth was a great writer. And the Manosphere should be for the betterment of *all* men, not just white men.

The streak of exuberant white nationalism on the forum as of late can be incredibly alienating.

It does appear he hasn't logged in the past month. Soma and I are handling moderation duties.
I know that his career track was incompatible with being a mod of a forum like this. Hopefully it's just a little break.

You seriously don't know what White Nationalism is like. Go to http://mpcdot.com/forums/forum/6-general-shit-talk/ and ask yourself if this forum is even 10% as bad as that place.
I think some of the non-White posters here are way too sensitive. I'm mixed race, nothing here offends me.
As for Tuth - this is the first time the dude has taken a break in like 5 years. Doesn't the man deserve a vacation?
Shit, most of the main forum members (myself included) have taken 2-4 month breaks before. I doubt he has quit. There is no better place for men to talk on the net than here.
Also, people here agree with his politics more than some members make it out to be. There isn't a single person here who defends big banks or corporations or women in positions of power. The fact is, most of the perceived political differences between the members is very thin. Compared to the rest of the world, we're extremely uniform.

RE: Is Tuthmosis still around?
I think a lot of the fact that we're not as bad as say, mpcdot's forums, is thanks to Tuthmosis. He took the lead in getting rid of most of the worst alt-right-ish people on this forum back when the movement was still budding.
Those guys are absolute poison, worse than the MGTOW crowd, and he saw what they were developing into. At the time, I thought it was overkill, and that he was taking too heavy of a hand on the moderation. But now? I'm very, very glad he did.

RE: Is Tuthmosis still around?
Some people just get flushed out when the focus of discussion from that one core topic (Game) and starts expanding into other areas (politics, lifestyle). Some thing happened with Roissy and Chateau Heartiste when he started going more macro in his analysis of game and looking at it from a wider angle of general human relationships and politics. It's inevitable, eventually. I mean the Game section is still populated and used, we still have a ton of threads on game related general matters in the Everything Else section. But eventually almost everything (especially the basics) have been said about Game for the 100th time and people who knows each other for a longer time want to banter and talk about other matters. Hell, each forum for a general interest, be it a sport, music, games, sewing, woodworking or whatever, has some kind of "general offtopic" area. It's healthy for any forum

RE: Is Tuthmosis still around?
While we're reflecting on all that Tut contributed to both the forum and the general manosphere, let's remember his own words.
https://www.reddit.com/r/TheRedPill/comm...me/cdzvmjw
Quote:I think there are few things we should AVOID, if we want to maximize our impact and continue to provide a community for men:
1) Association with one single issue (so-called "men's rights") or misclassification (PUAs or MRAs).
2) Too close association with a single political direction, since the community is largely pan-political. I don't think it benefits us to be labeled as (strictly) "conservative," "libertarian," or even "progressive."
3) Focusing too much on "fighting feminism" (and thereby getting associated as just their mortal enemies and nothing more) instead of stating broader goals and disseminating ideas.
4) Giving autistic, unintelligent, angry dudes a prominent role or platform.
5) Sounding too race-focused.
6) At the same time, sounding too intellectualized or proto-academic. We should strive for a conversational, accessible tone that's manly, but intelligent. That scares the shit out of them.
If you're reading this Tut, I hope you start writing--and sharing that writing--again soon.

RE: Is Tuthmosis still around?
Frankly I find some of these claims of talk of "white power" and "white nationalism" a joke. It makes me think that some people aren't actually concerned about fairness and good morals generally, but just "if they're not advocating for my specific group they should just shut up and put up".
Men are getting fucked over? Things should be fairer for them? I'm a man... so Yeah! That's right!
Whites are getting fucked over? Things should be fairer for them? Hmm I'm not white... so "hope that this 'alt-right' doesn't come here!".
Christians are getting fucked over? Should be treated at least equally with Islam? Hmm I'm not Christian... so "stop the Islam bashing!".
If I was in Afghanistan, I'd be hardcore feminist. If I lived in slave era America I'd be a vocal critic of injustice against blacks. It's not about "me me me" it's about fairness and moral standards.

2) Too close association with a single political direction, since the community is largely pan-political. I don't think it benefits us to be labeled as (strictly) "conservative," "libertarian," or even "progressive."
But if you never take or follow a "close association with a single political direction", then can you ever make a difference? IMHO, if you're not doing, one way or another, serious, committed politics, then you're not impacting society, you're just having fun for your own daily pleasure (which is fine, I'm not saying it's not, but life is about more than that).
Men should have strong principles, and this alone, unavoidably, will lead to a man choosing his (political) side and fighting for it, don't you think?
Also, if someone (anyone, not Tuthmosis specifically, I almost never saw posts from him so can't know him well) quits a forum because he doesn't like the discussions developped in this forum.. : it reminds me of so-called liberal people on twitter, who always block you when you start pointing their errors and contradictions : they refuse the battle and just leave. I much prefer adversaries who accept to debate with you, but it is increasingly rare.. because we Conservatives always have the good, truthful data and arguments, so Liberals just can't stand a debate or fight with us.. they just go silent or leave.. Cause the truth (almost always in Conservatives' camp) can't be stumped or disproved!

That's why I did say that my comment was a general comment for Liberals, obviously not directed at someone that I don't know, having almost never read from Tuthmosis here..
I'm simply pointing at a common attitude and habit of Liberals refusing the fight , and everybody knows it's true.. either online or IRL, Liberals prefer to block you or quit the threads, rather than fight your data and argumentation. For the simple reason that they can't disprove you : Conservative just state the naked truths, so how could they be disproved in a fair debate!?..
But once again, it's general thoughts here, I have no idea of the specific motives of Tuthmosis as a man or writer, cause I've already said that I didn't see him posting.. maybe he's just too busy working on some other project, who knows? I was just criticizing Liberals as a group (or as a way of thinking), not specifics individuals that I don't know, obviously..

I'm well aware of what white nationalism is. I have a habit of lurking on many different forums, a large contingent of which profess ideologies that I am opposed to.
Whether you'll acknowledge it or not, the fact of the matter is that there is a clear divide on this forum with regard to this topic.
