Household income just went up due to everyone in the household working. Real median wages haven't risen since the 1970s.
A steel mill worker - uneducated - in the 1960s made enough money to buy a house that he paid off under a decade, could afford 2 cars, a non-working wife and the education of 3 kids. A Starbucks regional manager does not make that kind of money in real terms.
Note the gimmicks they use in terms of calculation of average wages - those include the previously non-working women. There are other gimmicks that economists use.
Wow nice chart. I've said all along -- just look at wages and costs in 1980 compared to now.
We'd have to increase the salaries of the entire middle class by 200% to have even a hope of surviving as a viable society. The press touts 3% wage growth as some big win. Unbelievable.
I can only fight to save money for my own family and try to get the fuck out.
Media is incorrectly spinning what Cohen is going to jail for.

Lying media.

The SHTF is a real possibility according to the latest Strategic Intelligence Newsletter:
Russian Nukes in Venezuela? Don’t Rule It Out
Are there Russian nuclear weapons in Venezuela today? According to this article, the answer is yes. I’m not so sure myself. The sourcing in this article is from a single member of Congress who does not offer any proof to back up the claim. Still, the presence of nukes in Venezuela is a possibility that cannot be dismissed out of hand. Here’s what we do know. Some Russian troops (called “little green men” because they are uniformed in unmarked green jumpsuits) are present in Venezuela as are over 20,000 highly trained Cuban troops. Russian nuclear bombers (Tu-160s) landed in Caracas last December. It’s not clear if they carried nuclear weapons or not, but that is certainly possible. The U.S. has called for Nicolás Maduro to leave Venezuela, but Russia and Cuba (with China behind the scenes) have been instrumental in urging Maduro to stay in place. The recent “revolution in the streets” led by opposition leader Juan Guaidó failed miserably on May 1, 2019, with several casualties. The U.S. could apply force to oust Maduro (using Special Operations Command) if the only opposition came from the Venezuelan army. But with Russia and Cuban troops forming a Praetorian Guard around Maduro, the risks of escalation and direct confrontation between Russia and the U.S. are too high. The situation now is a political stalemate, but the starvation and misery of the Venezuelan people are all too real. My forecast is that the situation is not near a resolution and will get much worse before it is resolved. Markets are scarcely paying attention to this story. They should.
Fucked up historical opportunity in North Korea by choosing Mike Pompeo and John Bolton
Instigated an obvious coup in Venezuela which failed Bay of Pigs style
Squandered goodwill from Putin and Russia
The man's a failure, plain and simple. Couldn't even get the North Korea deal in the bag, which was the most obvious slam dunk.

A reality check needed here - China coordinating with Rocketman Jun Un Kim the III are merely following his Father and Grandfather's playbook from the last 40 years - meet, agree, obfuscate, stall, delay, demand sanctions relief or food or nuclear reactor technology for the sake of the people and skim 90% of the wealth and store it in Bejing and Moscow and Zurich and let the NoKor masses starve - right out of the Communist Manifesto. Nothing new under the Sun here expecting Trump to pull a hammer and sickle out of the Chinese Communists and NoKor Communist's backsides is unrealistic almost magical thinking. Only thing the ChiComms respect is power and force both Military, Political and Economically = Trump's core strategy. Economic Prosperity and Nuclear Peace via overwhelming force - the basic concept of power projection perfected by the Roman Empire 2 millennia ago.

The little green men "nickname" is an insider reference linked to the successful Russian military operation in Crimea. (Matter of fact, if the USA want to clinically remove Maduro from power, then maybe they should try copying and emulating what the Russians did in Crimea)
As to the "20,000 highly trained Cuban troops", well, no offense but: Highly-trained in what exactly? And with what kind of budget, what kind of weapons, and on which "high-tech" base?
I mean, no doubt the Cubans have highly trained, sharp and highly efficient intelligence officers, but, highly-trained assault troops? Angola is far back in time, and so is the Che.

Do you really think Hillary or ANY of the other candidates save for maybe Rand Paul or Ted Cruz would've even bothered saying anything about this?
This is something that needs to be dealt with by the legislators and the courts.

The president can do lots of things other than "raise awareness". For instance, even the slightest whisper that the president wanted to open an anti-trust investigation into Facebook would put a stop to this shit so fast that you wouldn't believe it. These big companies like Google and Facebook are prime targets for trustbusting, and everybody in the tech industry remembers the hell Microsoft went through in the 90s.
But Trump doesn't want to do that, and would rather tweet about how "surprised" he is. Dude's gonna be even more "surprised" when he gets steamrolled on election day because he failed to protect his supporters.

Indeed, Microsoft got massacred for weak stuff like bundling Microsoft Office with Microsoft Windows or setting Internet Explorer as the default starting browser, which were minor annoyances to consumers at best and small disruptions of a highly competitive market at worst.
Google and Facebook openly meddle in national elections and obstruct entire industries and nothing happens to them. Their behavior is the equivalent of Microsoft Windows rigging its OS to blow up power plants.

While the dissenting states certainly viewed it as only a slap on the wrist, the settlement can't honestly be characterized as a "massacre."
Further, IE wasn't just bundled, it was completely integrated with the operating system. So much so that Windows Updates wouldn't even work without the browser.
Those are both simply gross exaggerations. Microsoft was no angel in the situation.
Committee on Ways and Means
US. House of Representatives
Washington, DC 20515
Dear Chairman Neal:
I write in further response to your letter of April 3, 2019, requesting the confidential tax returns
(and other return information) of President Trump and related business entities for 2013 through 2018, pursuant to 26 U.S.C. 6103(f).
As you have recognized, the Committee?s request is unprecedented, and it presents serious
constitutional questions, the resolution of which may have lasting consequences for all taxpayers.
Accordingly, the Department of the Treasury has consulted with the Department of Justice
concerning the lawfulness of your request. As explained in my April 23 letter, the Committee?s
statutory authority under section 6103 is bounded by Congress's authority under the
Constitution, and the Supreme Court has held that the Constitution requires that Congressional
information demands must reasonably serve a legitimate legislative purpose.
In reliance on the advice of the Department of Justice, I have determined that the Committee?s
request lacks a legitimate legislative purpose, and pursuant to section 6103, the Department is
therefore not authorized to disclose the requested returns and return information.
The Department of Justice has informed us that it intends to memorialize its advice in a
published legal opinion as soon as practicable. Out of respect for the deadlines previously set by
the Committee, and consistent with our commitment to a prompt response, I am informing you
now that the Department may not lawfully fulfill the Committee's request.
Although the Department is unable to provide you with the requested confidential tax returns and
return information, we renew our previous offer to provide information concerning the
Committee's stated interest in how the IRS conducts mandatory examinations of Presidents, as
provided by the Internal Revenue Manual. If the Committee is interested, we remain committed
to providing such an accommodation.

The nightmare/massacre wasn't the relatively mild settlement, it was the fact that the trials ran almost a DECADE from the very first complaints in 1992 to the close in 2001. During that time Microsoft had every single action it took closely monitored by zealous and angry agents of the government, who were all looking to make a name for themselves by bringing down this huge tech company. It was a huge deal that affected every single aspect of the company's business during the entire tech boom. A lot of the reason that Microsoft fell from prominence so hard was that they were paralyzed by the constant spectre of the DoJ outright destroying their company.
But it feels like Trump doesn't have the guts to do to Facebook or Google what Clinton did to Microsoft. Dunno why. Maybe he's too tired?
But he can't do anything, nothing at all, to blunt Big Tech and their bullshit in any shape or form? What clown world do some of you live in?
Funny how when Israel wants something from the US/Trump executive branch, shit gets done pretty quick.
1. Golan Heights.
2. 38 billion dollars.
3. Embassy moved.
4. War with Iran (pieces being put into place right now).
But his own citizens and loyal supporters can only get lip (tweet) service to being de-platformed, their 1st amendment rights being stomped on, and ultimately erased from the entire internet. A MASSIVE set of related problems that has been widely known since 2015/2016 and if not addressed, could damage the very foundations of the country and lead to grave consequences. And what has Trump done with all of his power and all of his time? NOTHING.
Fuck all nothing.
Big Tech should be running and scared shitless right now. They sure ain't acting like it.
MIGA is not just Israel FinDoming Uncle Sam, it's also Sheldon Adelson and Paul Singer pushing their open border and anti-free speech agenda on their host country.
Quote:Adelson, who dumped more than $75 million into trying to defeat Barack Obama, is pro–immigration reform. In a December 2012 interview with The Wall Street Journal, the casino mogul said: “I’m pro–DREAM Act ... It would be inhumane to send those people back, to send 12 million people out of this country to disrupt a whole potpourri of family issues over what happens to the children. I mean, it’s all ridiculous. So we’ve got to find a way, find a route for those people to get legal citizenship.”

We all know why.
Google, Facebook, twitter etc are all massive data harvesting operations the likes of which the secret services could only ever dream about.
Why start snooping around when people willingly put it all out there and by the way, these people put other people in the picture too! Fantastic idea! The ones who dont put it out there are the people that need watching and then you can focus on them.
Microsoft was the victim of a witch hunt because the state was full of clueless old fashioned people who didnt see the merits. One day someone in the secret services told them the real deal and since then shit has run smoothly.
Why set up massive data harvesting operations for worldwide consumption when we can have private companies give us backdoors into their massive networks?
Why spend public tax dollars when a private Corp can do it for you. Oh and its not just faceberg and twatter, Intel allows backdoors into its core hardware so its not just software.
The only thing the NSA needed to do was to store and monitor what these companies such as facebook, google and twitter were gathering.
People got upset over that but they never went beyond the NSA. Do they honestly believe the NSA and CIA, Mossad etc dont monitor and store patrabytes of info people willingly put out there?
