About as seriously as any fake rape accusation.

In fact, nowadays, I've learned not to trust accusations at all without strong evidence. I've seen so many family and friends have to deal with fake accusations, myself included, that most accusations feel like crying wolf.

I'm also honestly quite disgusted with the entire judicial system of placing people on huge bonds based on bullshit charges and then throwing the accused in the same jail cells as other convicted criminals. Fake accusations destroy lives, and I'm really getting tired of this evil.

I've personally said in the Future of America thread that until the fake accusation industry is dealt with, I won't ever consider going public. Just way too easy for some past fling of mine to come out with rape charges, not worth it.

China's military is stepping up its gears, too. Such as in Hypersonic weapons, as just one example (the us played a role in China's advance). That said, I don't think China will surpass the US in overall military capacity in the near future. In the cultural domain China is still far from being a challenge.

However, it's not time to be complacent. China has been exceptional for at least 2000 years. The US has been exceptional for less than 100 years. If we think our exceptionalism is something settled and secure we will soon lose it. The Chinese see themselves as being in a race with America, most Americans don't.

p/s: One most damning statistics is this: In a recent Weibo survey, 97.5% Chinese participant voted against accepting refugees from the Middle East. Online surveys aren't very reliable, but suffice to show that the Chinese would have none of the baizuo bullshit.
