No, it's because War is good for business. Great for the media too, it's basically free programming. They can run clips of missiles and explosions non-stop. Media Wet dream.
Any confirmation that someone saw this giant bomb? Or are we just trusting Spicer?
This is 100 miles from Kabul. You'd think a journalist or something in Afghanistan would have gotten wind if it was at 7pm yesterday Afghan time, since this was such a huge bomb.
If we are trying to scare North Korea, makes sense. But I betting we didn't actually drop this thing for "caves and tunnels".
I have no idea what kind of 8d chess is going on though.
With regard to Syria (not talking about anything else):
This has nothing to do with Trump (though it might), but there will be an Ersatz Israel even if people have to die for it. Preferably American lads of course. Otherwise they are racist anti-semites.
I'm still waiting to see how this all turns out. There are only 2 or 3 options.
I am genuinely still giving The Golden Don the benefit of the doubt. I think he may have even played a blinder. But it won't be long now. Blood is in the water. Momentum achieved that might be hard to muster again will not be squandered.
Soon we will know. Even if it is as much as a year or two. Pretty sure it will be counted in weeks and months though.
And I am sincerely standing behind Trump. I envisioned that he might be co-opted, for whatever reason. I had high hopes, but I didn't expect much, if that makes sense. It really is 'shit or get off the pot' time all around. I can wait. Soon everyone will know and there will be no doubt in anyone's mind. Then we can all move on.
None of this is going to make sense for years to come yet.
Lot of crying over Trump recently, yet none of the criticisms hold any weight. So many piss poor arguments and fallacious reasoning.
For example, one of the more notable failures of reasoning is on Trump "not labeling China a currency manipulator." Trump said in his speech, China stopped devaluing their currency several months ago (when he got elected). This means China took Trump seriously and stopped the currency cheating. Why should Trump call them a currency manipulator when they fess up and stop with the wrongdoing? Trump's words alone was enough to solve the problem, yet people are angry that Trump didn't go on and hurt China vindictively and maliciously? The fuck?
Quintus Curtis said a few pages ago that Trump has changed nothing on the Syria policy because Trump still wants Assad to go, and yet, if Hillary was elected we'd have launched a full scale invasion of Syria by now. But because Trump got elected we aren't going to invade, even against the advice of top generals like McMasters. This looks like a massive change in policy to me, I have no idea what QC is complaining about. You should be very pleased with Trump, he just saved millions of lives in Syria.
And while Trump stays out of Syria, he continues to bomb the shit out of ISIS with the biggest non-nuclear bombs we have. This is fucking great! Even if I disagree with Trump's bombing of the Syrian airfield, and I was worried if Trump had been compromised or not, it turned out that Trump is still on the right track. He simply bombed Assad because Assad must have pissed him off over something. This isn't a reason to drop support for Trump.
For example, sometimes Roosh bans someone for a reason I disagree with. But do I say anything or start talking about how this forum is doomed? Of course not, because I'm not a hysterical female, I weigh all actions in a big picture way. A few mistakes here or there mean nothing if 80-95% of the actions are good. So even if Roosh makes a bad ban once in awhile, his leadership is still good enough that this is one of the best forums on the internet.
Likewise, Trump is currently the greatest President I've had in my lifetime, and his minor mistakes do not detract from the overwhelming amount of good being accomplished right now. Jeff Sessions is on a warpath against illegal immigration and I could barely be happier.
Overall, the quality of the posts in this thread is suffering a lot more than Trump's presidency. The irrational cynicism has got to stop. More reasoning, less histrionics, please. I wish there was a way we could limit members posts in here to one post a day. Regardless from here on out, I will personally start tearing apart bad posts one by one to shame feminine people out of this thread until post quality improves.
More facts and news (with trustworthy sources and links - someone posted a link to CNN, GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE), less speculation and crying.
Also, if Steve Bannon gets fired, it will be bad but it's not the end of Trump. Not by a longshot. Trump destroyed the Republican establishment before Bannon came on board. While Bannon is extremely valuable, there is still a handful of Americans who could theoretically replace Bannon. Whether or not Trump knows who could replace Bannon is another question, but it is doable. Conversely, there is no one - and I mean no one - who could replace Trump right now. In 8 years from now Trump will have shifted the political landscape enough for even more rightwing nationalists to succeed him, but right now Trump is the main man whether or not anyone likes it.
That said, if Trump fires Bannon and replaces him with (((Globalist Gary))) then Trump is doomed. Still, until he does something this ridiculous there is no point in worrying about it.
(04-13-2017 09:03 AM)Edmund Ironside Wrote: The accusations of "emotional response" ... even if there legitimately ARE emotions involved (and there are, on all sides) aren't really any more legit than when feminists dismiss anti-feminists as "just a bunch of men who are angry that their wet dreams of life being like Mad Men hasn't worked out for them."
Really?
I'll quote two people who aren't me, saying exactly the same thing I'm saying about you and rockoman. Tell me how what they're saying is no more legit than when feminists diss anti-feminists.
First is Libertas, who encapsulates my perspective in one paragraph. "Look for big ideas. Don't nitpick every statement. That's thinking small, and it's only going to make you more anxious. What is the overall direction? What is the net?"
Second is GlobalMan, who encapsulates my perspective in one glorious post. Here's the post and here's the most inflammatory group of sentences: Saying "but Trump SAID X, and now saying Y, he's a liar/traitor/words/something" is a childlike mentality, and I'm surprised by the number of dudes playing this flimsy and transparent card, when they know (or should know) that the whole point is a negotiating tactic.
Childlike mentality! Insulting the entire forum!
Except he's not insulting the entire forum. He's only insulting certain members. And quite a few members think that insult is either somewhat accurate or very accurate, based on the number of likes received.
So, again, please tell us how Liberatas is "no more legit than a feminist" when he argued that nitpicking Trump's every statement is going to make you anxious. And tell us how Global man is wrong to seem your "But Trump said X" tactic a childlike mentality.
Edmund Ironside Wrote:The opposition is the deep state bureaucrats , management of global corporations, the media, the education establishment, globalist pawn politicians (almost all of the Democrats AND many, possibly most Republicans), a lot of political organizations that have been funded both by our subverted government and by globalists privately, and, oh yeah, ultra-rich globalists themselves.
In one breath, you tell us the media cannot be trusted. In the next breath, you'll link us to a media story saying Trump is compromised by globalists. At no breaths will you consider either (1) that the media is smart enough to know that this is exactly what you fear and (2) is depraved enough to create such stories so that you'll be afraid.
Edmund Ironside Wrote:He can't take that all down at once by any stretch, but the clock is ticking to make progress such as it can't be easily reversed. For fucks sake.
Posting media articles and asking questions isn't going down fighting You claim to want to fight globalists, but you spend more time fighting me than fighting any globalists. Unless you can prove the unprovable - that I'm a globalist - then you're doing that classic Sigma thing of standing Independently, Intelligently, and Alone by fighting your own side coupled with the Spergish thing of defining "going down fighting" in an extraordinarily *ahem* novel and socially disagreed with way.
I'll offer you two choices. Either tell us how both Libertas and Globalman's words are "no more legit than feminists" or don't post a single word in this thread for an entire weak. If you choose the latter, we can reconvene in seven days and discuss the predicted firing of Steve Bannon. (Take note that Steve Bannon's predicted firing for a specific set of reasons is an easily verifiable event: if the prediction comes true, Adam Gingrich is an excellent source; if not, he isn't. But since the prediction is out of my control, I'm not anxious about it.)
Sam, I don't think it's so much the fact that the policy hasn't changed; that a President has to do the bidding of another country because that is just how the politics of power play out. I'm ok with that. Real Politik.
Trump certainly is in an unenviable position, hence my loyal support (moral of course as I'm not a US citizen).
I think it is just the manner of how all this will be gone about. Because gone about it most certainly will be. Lots of people not expecting this Syria scenario so soon. Didn't sign up for that. But it's happening.
What remains to be seen is how diplomatically Trump can handle the change. It may be he even gets totally sold down the river in a double whammy just to show everyone not to have hope ever again, and prove what a buffoon Trump was all along. And all of his voters too for ever believing in him.
This is why I am waiting. It could be that this plays out rather well for all concerned. But how much of all of this now is the Donald's say and doing? That is the question here. Not if he is a good man, a clever man - I am sure he is. But to what extent is he impotent. How far will he go to play along with the wider politics, which of course, always were out of his hand.
I support him up to the point where he messes up. So far, I think he has handled things remarkably well. He's got a hell of a balancing act to do from here though. That's why he gets my backing. I'm sure he knows what he is doing. In a way it isn't fair to put all the hopes and dreams of the world on to one man's back. No man can ever live up to that. But who knows? Maybe the Don really will surprise us all.
Sherman your (and CNN's) kind of dishonesty is getting old.
There has not been a u-turn on any of those policies- in fact there has been progress in the right direction on at least two of them in the last couple days.
Any legitimate complaint about Syria has been damaged by the ridiculous hyperbole and un-truths and half-truths that dudes just couldn't wait to unload.

Nowak's statement practically demands that he call his Senator every day and tell him/her not to repeal Dodd-Frank, but I doubt he's doing that. And if he's not doing that, then he's not resisting the "globalists"; he's telling us that it's pointless to resist the globalists by spreading negative news about Trump in this forum.

Nigel Farage once described himself as marmite ,he is hated by many but loved by a loyal few. This is far far superior to being a sociopathic Billionaire who can fake a smile to sell you a crock of shit.
There' a difference between liking Trump and the ideals he campaigned on due to the desperation of American society and the demand for them. I highly recommend everyone read Tony Schwartz's criticisms of Trump. During the campaign ,the university scam was his biggest problem that lingered at the time, but if you want a hit on his overall integrity ,read what the man who ghost wrote (not co authored like how initially publicized) his best selling book. This is the difference between people like Trump and Clinton VS people like Nigel Farage and Marine Le Pen. The former stand for the hollowness of their miserable souls, the later actually stand for society and the greater good. I don't agree with everything the Iron Land or MLP says ,but I know they have integrity ,and thats what wins out over the long term. No one likes self centered assholes.
For those of you who won't be listening to this podcast, a summary of my favorite part of it.
Sean Spicer is a court jester, a dancing monkey, a fool. He chain chews Nicorette gum and constantly stumbles over his words while being over matched by the barrage of questions.
But that's why Trump chose him.
Sean Spicer gives the media a spectacle, a way for the media to spend all of their ink complaining about something Spicer said. But complaining about Spicer makes the media lose their focus on what Trump is actually doing.
And the best part is that the media hasn't wised up to this, so they're continually getting played.

I'm going to tell myself the last few days I've actually been reading HuffPo and not the T thread, some of these statements are just too embarrassing.
Since last Thursday, I've gone from outraged and heartbroken to cautious to just a resigned admiration of the president.
I'm still ready to turn on him if he abandons ALL of his principles, but right now I'm going to wait about four days until I'm outraged or worried about anything he does.
I can certainly say that a professional shitlord and alpha male being in the Oval Office has raised my spirits quite a bit. He's in office and most of the United States is shrugging their shoulders and getting used to it. I most certainly am not.

Also, feel free to further analyze me and my posts and what they 'really say' about me. What your analysis lacks in accuracy it more than makes up for in entertainment value.
