The RSD crowd in general always seemed to focused on night life game & guys who really have zero clue whatsoever. Here in the Netherlands, Julien Blanc is the talk of the town (or the tweetstorm of the moment). It's pretty funny to read lefty/proggy columnists completely lose their shit over Julien Blanc's statements. You all guessed it; "a throwback to misogynistic times!", "Western ISIS!", "emancipation will be lost!"

It strikes me that a lot of people just have a lot of difficulty separating what's right (what works) with what's good (what's of highest moral). Of course, the guys who visit RSD seminars want to meet & date women by being good, sadly for them, they realize they're left in the dust by the jerkboys; therefore they try being the _right_ man -- the man women sexually respond to. To equate the latter on TV with shocking statements such as how to choke a woman as part of a pickup routine is just mind-bogglingly stupid.

And, by the way, Julien Blanc? I never heard of the guy -- ever. To single him out as the biggest PUA instructor around and worst example of men in general strikes me as incredibly random. SJWs could've chosen any dating coach and state the casus belli hashtag storm.

That's exactly the point. In this day and age, the very idea that a man could dare attempt to have any type of control over his sexual value not completely subordinated to the feminist imperative is enough to have one labeled a "misogynist."

We've already seen an ban-game movement starting to coalesce - first the blowup about the NY street harassment video, now the targeting of Julien Blanc and other RSD instructors. Soon enough companies and forums even just trying to teach guys how to meet girls - regardless of their methods, like in the case of RSD - will be targeted for attack because they "promote misogyny and rape culture." Even if they won't be able to ban PUA/game learning they'll do their level best to shame men into keeping away from it. Just you watch.

@HSLD, JB is not an example to base your fears on.

I don't think that at any point in modern history, even way before the internet, his behavior would pass as ok. He gave SJW's a gift, plain and simple.

And as for recent other cases, I would dare say the same. Sam Pepper - groping girls' asses on the street on camera? That's just asking for trouble even if not a single SJW existed.

And the scientist dude who comes to receive a science award with a surfing shirt? It's not disrespectful to women, it's just plain disrespectful.

People here yearn for the 'good old days', well in the good old days you wouldn't get away with any of the above without being shamed by society.

Just don't act like a mega moron that's all. Morons never had it good, and yeah, they ain't having it good now either.

Yeah I just got back from a 7 day ban for being an "RSD shill" among other things when in reality all I was trying to do is have a more fair and balanced opinion of the whole situation. It seemed some people had an axe to grind and/or were ignorant about RSD and the core of it's teachings. Honestly I like RSD the community and I like the Roosh community as well. Both the communities provide different types of value to me, but some people take it like two warring factions in an area where only one can exist.

I do agree with everyone here that RSD fucked up big time in how they handled this wnole situation. And the coup de grace was Julien's CNN interview. If he was just going to bitch up, backtrack and get dominated like that he was better off staying radio silent. He had a major opportunity right there and he blew it. I think Julien as we knew him is done as an instructor.

I'm not going to accept any criticism of how a successful scientist dresses unless slovenly fat women are first shamed out of the workplace.

Actually, astrophysicist nerds operate in their own little bubble where they think hawaiian shirts are cool in professional situations. You have to really met them and talk with them to understand that their worldview is a little different. If anyone was at fault it was the Press Secretaries who were monitoring the event. It's the PR peoples job to make sure an awkward crew still looks good on camera.
Malo · 2014-11-24 13:15:00 · #736
^ I've spent time with some big name hackers (Captain Crunch was one) and yeah I know it's the case, they live in their nerdy bubble and couldn't care less about how they come across.

My point is anyway: realistically SJW's cannot forbid you to talk to women on the street. It's a culture war, but to think you now can't pickup girls anymore? Yes you can as long as you don't act like a fucking moron. And this 'restriction' is nothing new.

And if someone honestly cannot tell what being a moron is, e.g. you see JB's "choke opener" and think "cool, that's how it's done!", then you have a big problem, much bigger than any problem any SJW will ever cause for you.

SJW people and the people who want to fight against them are on a similar wavelength in many respects. There is something irritatingly petty and political about SJW people, and where is there humanity? It is all about beliefs and ideology, taking sides with this group and castigating this behaviour or that bahaviour.

It is so easy to be part of the castrating crowd, but much harder to actually go out there and do something!

It is often the case that in this collective castigation individuals are shunted, there is always that threat of ostracisim if you do not believe what "we" believe.

These internet forums can often just become like a wolfpack, of group think, where herd mentality rules, and reason and sense, and also a sense of proportion go out the window in the moral stampede.

And it all just becomes an irrational witch hunt...

Julien Blanc is a fool and he's paying for it. I'm surprised anyone here would defend this guy or RSD. He literally made a fool of himself and the women of the country he visited and then tries to pass it off as an instructional video. No country of worth tolerates having their own women made a fool of by a foreigner in such a public format.

They can criminalize it as "harassment," but I can see that bill getting passed anywhere, so you're right that they can't forbid us.

They can shame anyone who tries to legitimize doing so.

And apparently, they can shut down the business pursuits of those who teach men how to approach.

Well I haven't heard everyone but they're mainly about club game/dynamics and inner game principles like self-acceptance. Tyler is more self-helpish these days and he has some really good shit on things like staying motivated, and other overall lessons on improving one's life outside of women.

Julien is a douche but even he doesn't teach sexual assault. He's more of a real life troll trying to see how much shit he can get away with before crossing the line. He always makes it known that calibration is important. From what I hear he's like a female he enjoys the drama just as much if not more than the sex. Like someone else said his game is perfect for the emotionally damaged variety of women here in America and abroad. As well as outright freaks who love to be dominated.

The problem is when you make inciting videos and clueless guys without even a base level of social skills, who look up to you take it as gospel. That's just plain irresponsible.

I don't buy this. There are plenty of ways that SJW's could campaign to change the laws to make things hard for us.

What if the law goes the way of sexual assault laws, but applied to talking to girls on the street? I.e. her word against yours, reduced threshold for reasonable doubt, leaving everything down to the girl's feelings. Bad street game could conceivably have you end up in jail.

This is a really good example of why talking to women, will not make you able to deal with the world (of men and women) when the shit gets rough.

Blanc really bent over backward in his interview with Cuomo, who dominated the frame and destroyed his frame. Point is, does Blanc even really know his own frame? or have a solid foundation in it?
atlant · 2014-11-26 23:09:00 · #748
Just read a remarkably balanced and well-reasoned interview about this with a psychologist in one of Germany's arguably most left-leaning newspapers:

http://www.taz.de/Psychologie-des-aggres...s/!150086/

I'll just translate some of the most interesting excerpts here:

Quote:taz: Critics of the so-called pick up artists around the world are calling for boycotts and prosecution. Do you find that reasonable?

Andreas Baranowski: That's quite a hysterical thing to do. The domain of pick up artists does not pose any danger. Of course if people are encouraging to commit crimes, then that has to be dealt with. But those are absolute exceptions. After all, we have freedom of speech and you should be allowed to teach people how to flirt.

(...)

taz: So it's not assault to pull a woman's head to one's crotch?

Andreas Baranowski: That was an absurd scene that Blanc wanted to use to get attention. There is fierce competition among these coaches. (...) Of course it was meant playfully. To playfully push boundaries is part of what they do.

(...)

taz: What was so revolutionary [about the pick up movement originally]?

Andreas Baranowski: There used to be strict rules about who was allowed to talk to whom. They broke those rules: You are allowed to talk to women in any situation, any time, and you're allowed to want to have sex with them. Generally it's a good thing to learn how to overcome the fear of talking to women, that's why those courses are helpful.

taz: But now pick up artists are advocating the dominance of the male. Why?

Andreas Baranowski: It's part of their narcissistic mindset. The guys sitting in those seminars are eager 18 year olds who hope that their wet dreams will finally come true. Then they're told they should act as if they're the greatest guys around, "fake it till you make it". And then of course you have to become immune against rejections. And if all girls are only stupid bitches anyway, rejections will hurt less. The women are being degraded because of a fear of getting hurt by them.

(...)

taz: Why do these courses only exist for men, not for women?

Andreas Baranowski: Part of the reason is the instrumental way of thinking men have: Do this and that, then it'll work. Many women don't think like that. Even though there are "pick up cats" who pick up men as a hobby, most women already have this knowledge - women's magazines are full of it.

Many people don't know this, but doing street game in Shibuya Tokyo, is illegal already. (you get a fine). However, it doesn't stop the countless, scouts, nanpa guys, and other izakaya dudes from stopping people and talking.

This law has only seemed to have effected the AV-nampa series, where j-guys would pick up girls and bang them.
http://www.tokyoreporter.com/2012/07/25/...ard-times/

I and other guys have not had to deal with any effects of the law whatsoever. To deal with all of those guys would require a task force that would be totally unreasonable, given the sheer size of Shibuya and the people that use it everyday (some 500,000+ people daily).

So even though there is a law, it has absolutely no effect (unless you're an AV company) whatsoever in Japan.

Japan's lack of response to the issue (banning julien from the country) is no surprise. The youtube video mostly had J-girls complaining about the J-guys lack of manning up and telling them to stop to get off the anime (アニメやろう). While the J-guys didn't really give a fuck about it and protested their hate of Koreans and Chinese instead. This is the same country that told a lady to go get married and have babies while she stood up against a council.
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-27971062

So, it's still a mans world in Japan, thankfully. But with recent news of Abe introducing, "Womeneconomics" it could change but not much. Many have already shown irritation against these ladies appointed to cabinet already. http://online.wsj.com/articles/rising-st...1413776960

It will be a cold day in hell when you separate Japanese men from their, host clubs, paid dates (enjoukousai), illegal brothels, massage parlors, blowjob bars, skirt peeping clubs, delivery health, Lolita fetishes, and a shitload of other niche sex-services that I didn't mention.

Jenn Li's twitter account, the feminist who 'started it all', has been suspended.

She has recently been going nuts with support for the Ferguson riots (as she is known to be a self proclaimed anti-white racist). Might be that she took it to far (incitement to violence perhaps? hard to say since the account is no longer there).

The Facebook page "take down JB" has also been suspended (that page wasn't orchestrated by Jenn Li).

This was a massive group and they have also been going overboard there, it became a hate group pure and simple, so I guess FB just took it down after it got reported several times.

It's a shame RSD didn't explain themselves clearly to the mainstream. It would have likely calmed down a lot of decent regular people, and government authorities, who were simply worried that they are 'abuse seminars' taking place.
