I'm not sure if this has been discussed, but skin tone is a major factor in which country/city you prefer in Southeast Asia.

I think if you like Chinese Indo girls I assume you prefer them a bit lighter, correct?

skin tone doesn't matter to me, I find some Dark skinned Thai and Filipina girls quite attractive. At the end, it's just a personal preference, maybe some of you guys find the average indo girls attractive.

Irish has probably spent more than a year of time total in Jakarta over these past few years and speaks from authority. I've done a few weekends with him in Jakarta and the guy has it so locked down that I don't even have to think once I touch down in CGK.

The sad thing is, is that guys who are actually doing stuff with their lives are always keen to meet up with other dudes they know have legit careers and lifestyles. It's pointless posts like this that have lead most cool guys from posting much on this forum anymore.

I am not doubting the quality of girls that Irish can get in jakarta, he probably has access to a tight social circle with above average looking girls. I'm just saying that for the average traveller with no connections, nightgame or online game won't lead to better quality than other SEA asian countries.

Yea I'm pretty sure Irish's girl would be a solid 5.5, maybe a 6 on a good day in the west. Not.

If she were in the west she'd have guys shitting themselves for a chance to talk with her. Hell, I was with him the night he met her. He was the only guy in the place who would approach her.

What the $%&* are you doing on this forum in a thread about Jakarta with actual Jakarta experts (I've been there a bunch of times, but I wouldn't consider myself one) making statements about how hot or not the women of Jakarta are because you checked IndoFuckingClubbing but have never set foot in Jakarta? Metro Jakarta has more than 30.000.000 people, Indonesia has more than 260.000.000 people. If Thamrin seems flooded with white dudes, get the fuck out to Kasablanca, Central Park, Pondok Indah etc
Even of the "better looking" Chinese Indonesians there are loads (I guess they are 5-10% of the total) in Jakarta.

I visited Jakarta again earlier this year. I would say Irish's update is spot on.

A few observations:

It definitely got worse than it used to be a few years ago, but you can still have fun if you have a little bit of game.

-You can still get 10X matches on Tinder compared to Western countries. Most of the Tinder sluts will probably flake, but it's still possible to bang a few, probably 2 points higher and a few years younger vs the kind of girls you can bang back home if you live in the West. Just make sure you use rubbers, because these girls get around.

-Many Tinder sluts know their way around a certain apartment complex in Thamrin where many Westerners who pass through choose to stay, probably based on the advice from this forum. If I ever come back (a big if), I'll probably stay in another neighborhood.

-X2 is still ok on weekends if you want to pick up a slut for a quick bang. It's such a shithole, though, that I'm not sure it's worth it. Definitely go elsewhere if you don't like cigarette smoke and garbage all over the place. Also, make sure the girl you pick up is not a pro because many of them are. If she gives off that vibe, tell her straight up you don't pay for sex.

-Basque was ok when I went there a few months ago. Other guys from the forum picked up chicks there but I didn't, only went there once and bounced to X2. Both X2 and Basque become massive sausage fests after about 1AM on weekends. If you go to Basque, its a good idea to arrive before midnight, maybe even around 10pm, and pick up a girl before all those thirsty fuckers show up.

-I also visited Bali and actually had more fun there than in Jakarta. Could have been random, but if I go to Indonesia again I'll probably go to Bali and/or smaller cities in Java, not Jakarta.

In summary, if you visit Jakarta you'll likely have your share of local sluts unless you are a total fuckup, but I don't think it's worth flying there all the way from Europe or North America just for that.

Immigrant has gone to shit of late. Friday's are dead and Saturday's, which used to be a bit of a gold mine, now are pretty shit with quite frankly an odd crowd showing up now. There still can be decent quality girls that show up but they're few and far between now. Place had a good innings, but now desperately needs to do something to reinvent itself.

Dragonfly, which went from awesome to dreadful when they refurbished nearly 2 years ago has gradually been improving ever since. Now the Chinese have almost totally moved out and brought their bottle service pissing contest with them back to the likes of Empirica and Blowfish. It's still nothing like the old glory days of the previous DF, but still maybe worth checking out particularly on their big night on a Friday when Immigrant is empty and Jenja is potentially a ball ache to get to due to traffic. That said, the club is still fairly poorly laid out for cold approaching and most quality looking birds will be on someone's table. But results can be had there still if your club game is on point.

Jenja - a bit of a drive south to Kemang but a decent alternative to Immi and DF. Can be hit or miss on the chicks stakes and somewhat unpredictable. It's one for the more hardcore underground DJ club scene and is fairly local so you don't get so much the bule hunting girls, rather the ones more into their music without necessarily being the druggy types who frequent Kota. A decent club itself but wouldn't be my first port of call if I'm looking to get some actions. But worth sticking your head in for a change of scenery

X2 I've not been to in years now. But I still hear it's much the same: ie younger, piss easy chicks but the quality ain't great. Has the reputation of being a bit pikey (rightly so) so most of the top grade birds won't be seen dead in there. But ideal hail mary option.

I'll continue to keep my ear close to the ground on developments and perhaps try a few more new venues while the scene is in a bit of a lull.

Problem is distance.
It's 18hours to anywhere Western Europe with a layover, 20+hours for people based in the states. That and the 7-8 hours time difference to overcome. Considering vacation time is precious and resources are limited, it's better to go for ee or Mexico for the bang of your buck. There isn't much point of going less than 2 weeks if you are planning a trip to Indonesia.

Last time I went to Jakarta and met up with Brodiaga and co, Basque delivered for me. 2 bangs from Basque alone. I liked its layout and circular bar, because I could just scan the other side of the bar to see which chicks were giving off IOIs.

But it was indeed a sausage fest. Especially on weekend nights, all the bules and drink rats show up and it then becomes a waste of time.

That's the case for many clubs in Southeast Asia nowadays. In Bangkok I always had my best nights from Tuesday to Thursday.

There is a sizable expat community. Maybe not as big as in SG or KL but It is the largest economy in south east Asia afterall. You have people work in IT, FMCG, and oil.

tbh it's not really tourists, rather mostly expats who live there. With a smattering of dudes flying in from the likes of Singapore etc.

Luckily you don't get the aussie bogan scum who have pretty much destroyed Kuta in Bali and have started setting about Seminyak as well.

Generally dudes, thirsty or otherwise tend to behave a lot better when they're on their own turf than when they're on tour. Jakarta has always had no shortage of expat guys out chasing tail, just that up until now very few of them would be twats about it and ruin it for the rest of us. Contrast that with the likes of the lads-on-tour types who charge into Bangkok for the weekend (or the stag parties in EE for a more extreme example).

However in Basque they seem to be getting more aggressive and desperate. Which in turn stinks the place up and scares off the best chicks. Not sure why Basque in particular has been so badly affected

Glad to see my previous trip report confirmed Irish. Remember Indonesia is predominantly Muslim so I'd wager 90% of the local girls here don't even drink or have never gone out to the nightlife. Quite a few of my matches don't drink at all, but of course the ones that I met to screen for DTF were eager to taste that booze.

Same thing with BKK, you got your club niche (super small) and the rest. For some reason Tinder is the lifeline for these "goodie goodies" to taste some action discreetly.

Besides paying $10 for a drink is just stupid money, I'd probably smuggle in a few bottles of booze next time I come here. No doubt better then Singapore though.

I plan on visiting from 5th october onwards. I intend on staying in jakarta for most of that time. i have 200 matches on tinder already and ive only been swiping for 2 days. its kinda difficult to keep up with them!

I can only dream of the potential that the city holds. let me know if anyone is around in jakarta or bali sometime in october.

Is staying in a condo in the Thamrin area really that bad? After I talked to some chics online I have the feeling the vibe always changes after I tell them where I'm staying. Like chances are 99% that I am a sextourist, because I am white and I stay there.

Thamrin is a pretty good condo with good amenities, it's not near the red light district. The complex is in a very convienient location and is literally a 300m walking distance to grand indonesia and plaza indonesia. Maybe there's a history of word of mouth that a lot of guys go there to bang girls and stay at Thamrin because it convienient. You can try other condos next to malls, I know that Kemang is a huge foreigner district where you will see non locals about. The only westerners I saw were a couple of expats and their wives in Thamrin.

Thamrin is THE place for those on bang trips, cause these tinderellas definitely been pumped and dumped there. If your gonna be there on "business" must try one the very reasonably priced 5 star hotels, probably among the cheapest in the worlds for top tier hotel brands if you can splurge.

I stayed in Thamrin expecting it to be a nice place, obviously not a first world place but comparable to the decent parts of Manila or an average part of Bangkok. However, it was really a shithole and had nothing going for it. If I go back to Jakarta, I'll definitely stay in another area. I didn't notice any bad reputation it had but even without a bad reputation, I'd still choose somewhere else.
