Below is a link to an interesting lightning network update article, from Bitmex. They had done part 1 of the article in early 2018, and that earlier article is linked within the part 2 article.

Below are a couple of decently nice charts with historical BTC price performance, projection of seemingly reasonable expectations, zooming in and some explanations contained therein...

I will assert that the charts do seem a bit more optimistic than me, but they are still nice to look at.

In this regard, the charts seem to show that our current BTC price situation is even more suppressed than the 2014/15 bear market, and I would not come to that same conclusion regarding our current BTC price situation... but hey, what do I know? I am just ballparking my sentiments, and I prefer to error on the side of some kind of semblance of conservatism,.. when it comes to these kinds of matters.

Here's a nice little chart that is a bit more conservative than the last one that I posted...... perhaps with a bit less steep of a projected upwards slope

Below is a link to a nice little lightning network update article. Of course, lightning network is quite likely to continue growing little be little and with building of channels and nodes and increasing capacity, and of course, if we hav a 10% to 20% increase in BTC price, that will cause a kind of magnification of growth appearance.... here at the supra $5million capacity mark.

What’s today’s BTC jump due to?
[email protected] · 2019-04-02 18:53:00 · #7738
Most people saying short squeeze bull run.

Yes.... the creation of additional momentum through short-squeezes that has a bit of a snowball effect, at least temporarily, and if you hadn't noticed, th grind up from about $3,700 to $4,200 was drug out for a while, and when the dam broke at $4,200 it became a bit of a cascading effect that was likely more violent than expected - causing its own additional momentum.

Always nice to login to your crypto account and see 20% more value since you last logged in. Not too many investments offer that kind of dopamine hit I'll say that.

The fake crypto analysis never stopped lol.

Everybody is just fortune telling.

I don't watch any investment too closely. It's a role of the dice without insider info. I focus on the the variable I can control - making more money. Anything else is just icing on the cake frankly.

Fair points, Trumpian.

I am considerably of the opinion that each of us needs to both reach our own trading conclusions and take anything that we read on the interwebs with a BIG ass grain of salt.

Of course the more that each of us studies the space, the more we can find that some information sources are a bit better than others, but it can also take awhile to both get there with sources, and also to make sure that they are somewhat tailored to your own priorities and values and ultimately take responsibility regarding how to personally employ such gained knowledge.

I think scanning the interwebs for crypto investment tidbits is a gigantic waste of time frankly. If the guys who do that reallocated their time into increasing their income, they'd be a lot better off.

Perhaps. There are a lot of ways to make money these days that may not have been feasible in past times, so ultimately, guys will need to judge for themselves how they spend their time and whether they believe they are personally benefiting from whatever approach they choose.

Bitcoin can be a very engrossing topic, and some guys want to learn code, just to be more understanding of bitcoin, even if they may not directly seek to gain income from such skills/knowledge.

It's weird how it looks like a painful year and half seems to be disappeared if you look at people optimism after a relatively small rise from the bottom.
The herd will be back soon buying back?

Could be a bulltrap here, but I am thinking that momentum could take us to the $6,200 to $6,500 arena before we experience a 30% plus correction... I know that seems a bit optimistic (maybe even too optimistic), because reversals can happen at any time, but I am nonetheless considering a bit of UP momentum has been created here that is a bit easier for everyone to go along with it, rather than to fight it. .. but who knows? We will see. We will see.

Here's a nice little juxtaposition of bitcoin hitting $5k on October 12, 2017 and bitcoin hitting $5k on April 2, 2019.... Changes in bitcoin, even if some might consider those changes to be relatively small, do not look unhealthy.

I'm thinking also we are going to correct in a matter of days. Not sure where to take profits.. I might sell at 5800. I also think 5300 is not a bad level to sell.

Yes, that's possible, but if we have 10%~30%+ correction, I would say that it is a healthy correction. Then we will retest the market around $3500 or so and I am sure it will skyrocket back up to where it was.

This will prove that we have double bottoms and a support level, which is fine with me.

On top of that KNOWING that it will skyrocket back up, I would invest more into bitcoin/crypto (whatever you are into) as soon as it drops double digits. The next day or next week, it will come back up anyways.

FYI:

Somebody, somewhere is betting big on bitcoin.

The price of bitcoin surged above $5,000 for the first time this year after a mystery buyer placed a huge order — causing a one-day spike not seen since the peak days of the cryptocurrency’s bubble in late 2017.

The trading briefly sent the price of bitcoin to $5,078.52 early Tuesday, the highest price since November. The price settled to around $4,730 by the end of the day.

A single order worth about $100 million had been spread across multiple cryptocurrency exchanges throughout the world at the same time — evidence that the price surge came from a single buyer, Oliver von Landsberg-Sadie, CEO of cryptocurrency broker BCB Group, told Reuters.

However, it’s unclear who made the trades — or why.

“[There was a] lack of a clear catalyst or news that drove the move,” Michael Kazley, co-founder of investment firm Crescent Crypto Asset Management, told The Post.

“Feels like a classic short squeeze, where the threat of higher prices drives short sellers to buy back and close their positions,” Kazley added.

The jump comes as bitcoin has lost nearly all of its value amid government crackdowns, allegations of fraud and questions about whether investor optimism was overblown.

Even bitcoin investors Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, who claim to have co-created Facebook, acknowledged in a CNN interview last month that investing in the digital currency has been rough.

The 23 percent increase Tuesday was the biggest one-day jump since December 2017, when bitcoin prices had neared $20,000 on some exchanges. The bounce revived the hopes of bitcoin investors after a tough 2018, when the digital currency lost more than 70 percent of its value.
