For anyone thinking of giving up.. def. experiment with photos.
I was about to quit for good but tried a new photo based on stuff I read in this thread and it turned it around for me
I'm not killing it or anything but getting some nice matches now.

And don't sweat b.s. like height. Put it out of your mind. Have faith that statistics are in your favor and eventually someone you like will like your look.

I have a good body but not really any good pictures of it. Mirror selfies are tacky IMO but short of waiting until the summer and getting a pic at the beach I'm out of ideas.

How would you guys handle a girl from tender asking to see a headshot? My pics on FB (and hence Tinder) are mostly of me doing things, either kayaking, climbing, hiking, playing guitar or out with friends... basically not super up close.

I just told her that I don't do selfies and she could feel free to pull up my fb profile (gave her my last name, profile is open).

I'm a reasonably handsome 29 yo guy, and not ashamed of my looks or anything. I just wasn't cool sending a picture of myself to a girl I haven't even met yet. Do you guys think I handeld this ok?

Why not just switch out your face pic for one of your other pics? Would you immediately swipe right on a girl where her face isn't visible and it's unclear which one is her?

Up above in the thread, someone describe the "right" kind of photo and it made sense to me (douchebaggey + alpha). Just after that, I came across one that fit the bill.
I also think less is more unless you have a lot of good photos in interesting scenery, on vacation, showing you in various settings or doing something cool (surfing or whatever). For me I just have a few including a close up of face.
When I first signed up I got basically zero matches and hated the app.
Now with new photos I don't get as many as I thought I'd get but I swipe really selectively and still manage to get a few a week (not including an inevitable bot).
Like I said, my results aren't off the charts or anything, and two girls I recently matched with unmatched before I could message them so that is not good...
But compared to when I first started, it seems worth sticking with for a while.

Scroll up for some great comments from some other guys on body pics.

The two best approaches seem to be:
1) you are proud of the work you put in, not the result
2) you are addicted to the high you get from the gym, not for the looks
3) your body is art (for this one, crop the eyes out)

I understand where you're coming from but it's 2015 and mirror selfies are officially no longer tacky. Sorry I don't make the rules hahaha.

You probably did fine but from this seat it looks like maybe you could have done better. She could be thinking "why does this guy take himself so seriously?" which could be good or bad.

When a girl asks for more photos it usually means one of two things 1) she is hooked but doesn't think your profile is real, 2) she is DTF but and doesn't want to waste her time rejecting you.

Personally, I usually don't send photos when girls ask because it feels like work and i am lazy sometimes, but sometimes I do. My attitude is if I am willing to show her my dick I am willing to show her my face. And honestly plenty of girls have seen my dick so who the fuck cares?

Well think of flirting as being playful, and mixing interest with disinterest.

You are just having a regular conversation and it's not fun.

I would say try to find out something she is good at, instead of talking about your cherry stem, if you want to take that approach to the chat. Then have her teach you whatever that is.

Try to think of examples of mixing interest with disinterest, and using them on girls as practice. Ex. to the pizza delivery girl: You're pretty cute - for a delivery girl.

AND IRON RULE: Interest must be subtle, disinterest must be PLAYFUL.

Well I'm waiting on Tinder Plus for that. I downloaded one of those automatic liker apps that lets you change your location and it didn't work.

Plus will allow people to change their location. Just a matter of when that's coming and how much it'll cost.
