RE: Tinder App
Any advice on how much more I should lie about my age to start getting more matches?

I'm early forties and have my age at 34. But, I'm still getting only like one match a month from women under 28ish. All the hot 20-26 year olds are not matching.

I'm thinking it's their age settings as my pics are decent and two of them are me doing things with women. I constantly get told I look younger than my age when people find out.

But I'm wondering if I should push that to 32.....30 to start getting the quality and YOUNGER women to match?

I just don't want to get too unrealistic as when they meet me they're like "ummm I don't think he's 30" ( I probably do actually "look" 34 -37ish depending on the day.

Any of you older guys tinker around with age settings and really stretch it ( I'm talking 10 years plus lying about age) and it worked?

I lie about my age as well and was wondering the same thing. I'm 38 but can pass easily for late 20's. I'm currently listed as 34 but may go lower. What I was wondering is if you like a 25 year old girl and her settings are 21-30 will you even show up in her feed??

kaotic/everyone: How quick do you meet girls for dates off here? Like say I get the number within 5-10 lines of conversation, sometimes a bit more.

Some chicks want to meet the same night, but I don't usually do that unless it's an obvi SNL situation. Would you meet the next day if she's eager? Do you ever meet the same night? I feel like any longer than a week and it's now a cold lead and you might as well put them on the back burner.

Keep in mind I live in a city, not So cal, so it's a little less of an investment to meet someone. Most date places I can walk to or Lyft in 5-10 mins away. I have actually ridden my bike to dates and then had to request a car with an SUV so I could go home with the girl and bring my bike lol.

Is Tinder a good gauge of how well you would do at night and daygame in a certain location? In other words, if your Tinder matches are 1 point higher at location X compared to Y, would that mean that the night and daygame results in location X would probably be 1 point higher as well compared to Y?

I tried Youngblood's technique on a feminist lawyer (on OKC)

It did not go over well Smile

A question... When you match with a bot on Tinder, is that when the "bot" says stuff like "Don't swipe left while driving" or something else stupid, or is that some type of tinder crap to get you to chat with your match?

I assumed it's a bot?

Here is my sucess recipe:

Thursday-Sunday: I'll talk to girls I've matched and get them out that night or the night after
M-Wed: I never message girls I've matched because it would be a waste of time to wait to get them out 2-3 days later but this only applies when I message them first. Otherwise, I'll get the meetup the day of or day after.

If they want to meet the same day then these girls are probably the most DTF. You just gotta be able to feel out which girls would be more receptive to meet ups at bars near you vs the ones that would meet up at your crib.

Officially only match with bots now. Really getting trolled badly too as now the bots have legitimate looking profiles.

Took a 3 week hiatus from Tinder back in the fall and returned to some great personal results.

Think I'm gonna try to stay off it until Tinder Plus arrives, or at the very least, a new update. They haven't updated the app since October.

How do you know when it's a bot?

Typically these are the tells:

-Ridiculously hot (usually too good to be true, at least for me)

-Automatic match when I swipe her (most of my real matches seem to be that I swipe first and later on during the day I get a match notification)

-Her last activity was a few seconds ago

-Two to four pictures and no profile (or a one liner profile with emojis included)

But they've definitely gotten smarter. My last bot was absolutely crushing.

-Two profile pics of what I would consider my ideal woman (physically)

-Profile said "Med school - (snapchat address with realistic sounding name)"

-We had two things in common

When I matched with her, I'm not gonna lie, it brought me out of the shitty mood I had been in earlier. I said "shit, I'm too busy now to open her, but when I get home, it's so fucking on it's not even funny." Because I found her so attractive and was so stunned that we matched, I developed minor oneitis and used my drive home to come up with the perfect witty opener based on our interests. When I got home, opened my phone, and she was gone. I had remembered her snapchat address however, and googled it. When I saw the snapchat page, it was a cam show account. Definitely took the wind out of my sails. All I could do was laugh at how I had developed oneitis for a bot and decided that was it. Time for a break.

Hey do you guys ever re-start messaging with a prospect who went cold?

I was trying to emulate the Youngblood thing and she went quiet.

I figure I'll wait a few days or so and try again ?

Oh and guess what... the douchebag photo worked - thanks guys Smile

RE: Tinder App
Just started using Tinder. Couple of questions

1.) Had Tinder for about a day. I got 30 matches but most are ugly. How the hell do you remove the excess? Are you stuck with the matches in your inbox. It's very cluttered.

2.) I'm a little over 5'8" barefoot(close to 5'10" in shoes). Height is a major issue for women and Tinder favors shorter men initially since they can't filter it out. Is anyone listing their height or do some women eventually just ask you through conversation?(or not at all). I was doing a quick google search on Tinder which brought up a women's blog on Tinder and they mentioned to watch out for men's height since Tinder is a bit of a height lottery and for women to look for height clues like how tall a guy is in comparison to friends.

Women look at height like we look for fat girls.

1.) If you're not attracted to some of your matches I'm assuming you're mass swiping (swiping right on everyone). If you are, stop. It gets you matches, but not the ones you want, and the jury is out on whether or not mass swiping puts you in "bot mode" and the app limits your ability to match. To unmatch girls, click on them from your match list, and hit the button with the three orange dots. From there you can unmatch, report, block, etc

2.)That's not bad. I'm 5'7 and managed to navigate my way through tinder.

Some tips:

-If you're not 6 or damn close to it, don't write your height in your profile. I can't use any other dating site/app because they all ask for your height specifically.

-Picture wise, always be alone in the picture, unless the people are all around your height. But if not, be alone.

-Crop the picture tightly so there is not that much room at the top. In other words, crop it so that a full body picture is from your head to your toes with very little space around that. Because you take up the entire frame, you'll look taller.

-I've never been asked what my height is, even though I don't list it. But if I did, I suppose I would tell them 5'8, and if she had any negative reaction upon hearing that, I'd probably play ignorant like I didn't know height was an issue to women and make it HER issue, not mine. Something like "really? Too short for you? Never been a problem for me before. Well, good luck." Or you can always say "lol damn, insecure much?" -- but that may make you look insecure yourself. Either way, if she's gonna rule you out for it, nothing you say will reverse it, so handle that part of it however you want.

I feel like there's this unwritten thing on Tinder. Guys that don't put their height in their profile are either average height or below. Men know enough about women's online preferences that the tall guys are certainly going to sell that part of themselves early on and guys that aren't tall will omit. I have occasionally matched with girls that have written "tall guys only", but 9.5 times out of 10, if the girl mentions height in her profile at all, I don't get the match. I think she sees I don't have my height listed in my profile and doesn't want to take the chance. I've just been fortunate that none of the girls I've matched with seem to care. If your game is tight and you guys have chemistry, she's 1.) Going to forget to ask and 2.) Once you meet in person, she's not going to care, again, chemistry/game will be the deciding factor.

Yep. I started with just selecting who I want but came across a couple of PUA tinder blogs that said to mass swipe everyone which results in a lot of clutter.

Good tip on the unmatch. That did work.

That was my initial thought. The best tip I read was online dating is about women looking for ways to disqualify you. So limit your pictures and keep some mystery. A good movie trailer can sell a bad movie.

I was thinking the same. Marketing wise it wouldn't make sense for taller guys to not list it. At the same time I'm noticing a similar trend with women listing their height. Seems like most girls 5'5" and above are the one's who list their height(not as a selling point but to probably let the shorter guys know).

Side note I just noticed I matched with a decent looking girl who is 5'11". As much as I'd like to think I could bed her my odds are completely against me and with online dating i'm all about playing the odds since it can be such a time waste. Thats whats great about game in person. You don't have that issue.

I've noticed that and agree that's probably what they're doing. I've seen some girls just list their height and that's their entire profile. I've always taken that to mean, whatever it is they listed, you have better be a few inches taller than that.

It is what it is, and I don't want to derail the thread, but it is amazing how girls have managed to place such a superficial and shallow requirement on their online profiles, and no one bats an eye. "Tall guys only" is something I've seen more times than I'd like to admit, and no one calls them out for it. Whereas a man who puts "big tits only please," no matter how alpha/tall/rich/good looking he is, would lose a portion of matches for being shallow. But I digress.

Have at it man. If for nothing else, just mess around with her to gain some experience on how to handle taller women. Trial and error some stuff so the next time you find yourself in that situation, you're better equipped. Every experience is a possible learning experience.

To be fair sometimes even a smartphone is going to net you better results depending on the photo over a $500 dollar camera. An iPhone can be more flattering in some circumstances over a DSLR because it's no where near as sharp. Many times ultra sharp photos don't work as well because you want a little mystery. An iPhone + flattering lighting can be a great combo.

It's about insecurity. Tall girls feel very insecure about themselves with shorter guys. I currently have a LTR with a tall girl who is the same height as me and she told me several times she feels insecure about wearing heels.
Same story with some of her girlfriends who are also +6"

Oh it's definitely insecurity on their part. But knowing that doesn't mean anything. In the end, the issue is they're ruling you out based on a numerical value. I liken it to sports in the sense that, if I'm a football team, and I want to be balanced with a run game and passing game (real life and online), and I play against a defense that takes one of those things away (online), I have to beat them with the pass and the pass only. I don't like the fact that I've had to concede OKC, POF, Match, and all the other online sites just because I'm short. I would like to have a balanced game of social circle + cold approach + online, and especially now in winter, the idea of sitting at home and running game on chicks comfortably from my phone is tempting. But whatever. At least Tinder is different. I have a puncher's chance.

Something that might be a bit encouraging and a bit discouraging for the height crowd: I'm 6'0 205lbs, when I added my height and weight to my tinder profile, I got TWICE as many matches as before - HOWEVER, the girls aren't much hotter. There is a bit of improvement in attractiveness, but it's hardly worth mentioning.

Interesting. Makes sense though. If your profile doesn't have your height listed, and then later on you put it in, you would get all the girls who matched with you before you added your height because they found you attractive to begin with, plus the new girls whom you passed the height requirement with.

Anyways, I can't for the life of me understand why I don't match at home but do in the city. It really is frustrating. I don't know if I should reset the network settings on my phone or something. I'm not being seen by anyone but bots.

I refuse to believe that not one girl in my radius will swipe right on me in the burbs. Before this whole thing went down I was getting about 100 matches a month. Anywhere I went, I would match. Now at home, nothing. Not one real female. I'm off the grid here and don't know why.

The problem when dealing with Facebook integration is I don't know if this is on their end, if it's Tinder, if it's my wifi at home for whatever reason. So many elements at play.

I get about 2-3 matches of selective swiping in an hour when in the city, and when I'm home, it doesn't matter how many girls I swipe. Nothing but bots.

I don't know what the fix would be. I've deleted and recreated a profile at least 50-60 times easily. Sometimes several times a day if I feel I'm getting shafted. Maybe that's the problem. My phone number/facebook account is overplayed. I don't know. Hopefully it fixes itself. Because for there to be no problem with my account, that would mean that every female within 15 miles of my house, no matter who they are, thinks I'm absolutely hideous...but drive 15 miles away, suddenly I'm attractive. No way that's the case.

RE: Tinder App
I'm only 5'5" so the whole height thing is something I'm acutely aware of. I used to have a real chip on my shoulder about it and got hung up on worrying about how tall a girl was going to be when meeting her off Tinder. However I don't know whether it's because I've only got pics of me by myself in my profile or because I don't list my height so girls twig that I'm short but I've never met a girl off Tinder who was epically taller than me. Probably the tallest girl I've met was 5'8"?
It hasn't seemed to impact my success with them either as I can't discern any difference in my success rate between girls taller than me and those shorter (in terms of Tinder. Obviously in night game it's big disadvantage)
So now I don't worry about it at all and just game away.

That being said if I see a girl with her height on her profile (usually these girls are 5'10"+) or who says "tall guys only" I'll just unmatch as I see them as a low probability target. With abundance mentality there is no point wasting time on them as I've got 200+ other matches I haven't even spoken to yet.

Pretty much every girl I've ever dated (taller and shorter than me) has said to me "I usually only date tall guys" or something along those lines. Which I think shows that the whole tall guy thing is mostly aspirational and in the end, if you can get past initial impressions and establish comfort and rapport, girls will look past physical shortcomings.

Look a couple pages back. I'm basically having the same issue. I got plenty of matches within 15 miles of me in the city I was in. Now that I'm back in a small town in the middle of nowhere I can't get matches to save my life. I got 3 in 4 weeks. I just tried deleting and remaking it yesterday and I'm at 5. I guess that's an improvment? I haven't seen any of them before. Plus I'm getting a lot more swipes and different swipes. Time will tell. I think the strategy might be different in small towns though. For some reason my profile isn't working well and I'm 6'5 and a bit athletic.

RE: Tinder App
^^^^^^

Don't you think it's just population size in each respective place?
City vs. small town in the middle of nowhere? You're bound to get matches where there's more activity and participants I'd think
