It's after I get their ph# and move off the app to texting, I find it hard to get them to show up for a date (that they said they wanted / agreed to). Maybe that's just the nature of online dating, or maybe some guys have some tips/tweaks for this final part in the process.

The expected flake rate for online girls is 50% so take that as a baseline no matter what you do.

If almost all of them are flaking though, you need to try building more of a connection before the meeting time. Text more frequently (not constantly though), flirt some but don't get graphically sexual, send her a couple of pics of something cool you are doing. Try calling them too. I've been doing this more often and it does reduce the flake rate because it makes you into a real person to them. Plus, you'll find out whether you're good on the phone or not. If you are, keep doing it, if not, stick to texting.

This is really good advice. I've found that since I've started talking to women on the phone before our date my first date bang percentage has gone WAY up. I've had a few flake on me prior to the meet but if you match up with someone and 1. Get a good text conversation going 2. Get them on the phone and talk to them for 10-20 minutes 3. Get them to show up on a date where you have set good logistics, you have as good of a chance for a first date bang as you'll ever get.

I liken it to playing blackjack using a system and not just winging it. You'll still lose some hands but in the long run your odds go way up.

Okay, thanks MrXY and OregonToSoCal. That makes sense. I figured they would get annoyed if I made comfort-building talk over text, so I went straight to meetup/logistics talk, but it just produced super high flake rates.

Just to reiterate flaking can and does happen at any stage of the game. You can do everything right from matching to messaging, to texting, to calling, to meeting up, to getting her back to your place, to smoothly escalating, to laying pipe like a champ, to post sex texting, to setting up your second date only to have her flake then. Many times there's no rhyme or reason. You just do whatever you can to mitigate the chances of a flake and then let whatever happens happen.
TooFineAPoint · 2015-08-26 22:51:00 · #4330
Yeah, absolutely, I expect a certain amount of random flaking and brush it off like nothing. It's just that everything was so so sooooo easy right up until a few hours before meet with a handful of girls in a row. So I know there is room for a lot of tweaking at that stage in the process. If I can get a meet it will also be smooth sailing, so this is my biggest sticking point with online/text game right now.

Not a single person had an opening line that was creative. I'm completely done with tinder after I realized that these girls get an instamatch anytime they swipe right, but if you still choose to play this terrible ROI, here's what I'd do.

-absolutely perfect pictures. Go to exotic car dealerships and take a pic inside a Bentley for example. Photoshop a picture of you with a celeb etc
-you must have tight game on here, go for the number in no more than 4-5 messages
-your opening message needs to capture interest immediately. First 3-5 words need to grab attention.

Otherwise, fuck tinder. It's an app made to stroke a woman's ego. You're going to be fighting against 100+ dudes at any one time.

Absolutely terrible return on time invested in my opinion.

You should try and get some free pizzas delivered with your fake profile.

Finally got on Tinder the other week. Had a bunch of matches and only a few numbers. I don't really have a solid opener that merits a good response rate unless I mention something she said in the text blurb or something about one of the pictures.

Also I spent all day pushing the card as far as possible deliberately trying to get a girl to flake on me. It took all day

My guess is etuvus is over 6' tall and has a high status job like the dudes in the article, which explains his position on tinder.

I do decently on it, but that's because 1) I have a high status side gig 2) good looks and decent height 3) I lied about my education lol.

It's confirmation bias, we all do it. You gotta sit back and look at the objective reality on the app. It ain't in favor for men.

I've tried going through all 174 pages of this thread but couldn't find an answer to this.

Is there any good advice or consensus in terms of what kind of pictures yield best results? So far I have been doing okayish on tinder but I want to step it up.

I already have plenty of pix of me doing interesting stuff (Macchu Pichu, riding an elephant), pix of me with attractive girl(s) but with the girl cropped out so it's just me but you can still see part of the girl and that she isn't ugly.

-What kind of pix work best for you guys?
-Is there a way of getting girls to rate ur pix? I believe hotornot is no more
-Has anyone had a professional photographer take their pix, did it help, what kind of pix, what were costs?

cheers!

Of course 4 of the top 5 schools are in the South but surprisingly[/quote] the state of Colorado seems to have some top talent. Can anyone touch on this?

Honestly would look at link posted and realize it's about location as well. When I set location to Portland, had a few pics of me with my hipster swag going and said some dumb shit like "Student by day, hipster by night" had like 40 matches in two days. Cities like NY, i switch over to well dressed photos and me traveling. Then Mexico i just put up what the fuck ever.

The brain cannot handle too much information, so it uses cognitive shortcuts. When a girl is looking over a Tinder profile, there is not much information there, so what little information is present takes on heightened importance.

When a girl's brain is scanning your pics and your paragraph of text, it is over-judging the smallest things, and jumping to conclusions about you based on the scantest evidence:

Slight double chin --> fat as fuck.
Not top 20% looks --> ugly as hell.
All selfies --> no friends.
In a club --> no job.
Boring clothes --> boring.
Gym selfie --> boring gym dude.
Not smiling --> fucked up teeth.
Ugly friends --> loser.
You're DJing --> hot DJ.
You're playing guitar --> hot musician.
Tattoos --> hot tattoo guy
Beards --> trendy + fashionable
Pets --> caring and loving

And:
Minority --> not cool.

The lack of information of an online dating profile works against you if you're a minority. Since a girl's judgement of online dating profiles relies on heuristics and cognitive shortcuts, she most likely will unfairly cast you into the loser stereotype of whichever minority you are in. This happens subconsciously, so she won't even be aware of it, and it happens even if she's a minority herself.

So:
Indian --> smelly and shy
Black --> ghetto
Latin --> poor
Asian --> shy and quiet
White --> normal, let's see the rest of his photos.

Again, it's not only white girls that jump to these negative stereotypes about you, it's also ethnic girls. So even black girls who see the profiles of black dudes think they are ghetto, and even Indian girls who see profiles of Indian guys think they are dweebs. All minorities are pushed back except for white guys, who are "normal" by default.

In person you can easily overcome any negative stereotypes of your ethnic background and be a hot, dominant, tingle-worthy dude without even saying a word, just by your vibe and your presence, your dress and mannerisms. Online? Not so much, girls have an itchy trigger finger in judging you as a loser.

If you are a mack and you happen to be in a minority, the challenge is to not let your dismal online results (dismal compared to "normal" white guys) fuck up your IRL vibe.

Interesting analysis.

It might be too much to ask, but after all this is an entirely visual medium, so that is the only useful data/advice.

Check out this thread: http://www.rooshvforum.com/thread-45167.html

First of all, I'm not really a 'pro'. At the moment I've got 127 matches and I've reset my account about 2 weeks ago. Needless to say but this matchcount doesn't mean anything. I've been unmatched a lot because of saying the wrong things or whatever other reason. I've unmatched quite a lot myself because of "nothing will happen / didn't pay enough attention and matched some ugly bitch / she went ghost on me or the other way around / we matched but didn't say shit".

Lately have been in kind of a depression so didn't actively use Tinder and persue prospects. So actually my account is pretty useless since I'm talking to only 10-15 girls because I didn't get their number yet.

Thinking about going to clean up and get rid of the "Nope" matches and try to restart some. After that, delete account and get myself a fresh one.

Anyway, the photo's part. I do not consider myself very attractive but I'm not ugly. Girls seem to dig my hair and having a 4 or 5 day 'beard' seems to help me a lot. My photo's are, as some would say, of the worst kind. 4 pics, 3 of those are selfies! The last pic is me racing my (long gone) supersport motorcyle at a race-track. Chicks usually ask if that is really me, could have just googled some image. So despite all of the "never, ever, use selfies!" And "get yourself pro pics, a pic with a nice girl, you at a party etc." I guess selfies aren't that bad at all. Most of those chicks use a selfie as their main photo..

Don't drive yourself crazy by thinking it's all about those "guideline (pro) pics" for getting matches. It's the internet, it's online 'dating'. It's not a big deal, relatively anonymous and most important, tremendously trivial.

Just my 2 cents.

Well the OP of that thread doesn't post his own pics and profiles so that doesn't solve the problem. Also, the suggestion within that that ghoul Steven Buscemi will somehow come off better due to a simple angle change than those young handsome guys who are already in well choreographed photos themselves is downright preposterous.

Judging from his posts around these parts I get the sense the writer of that thread is a very good looking white guy who is completely oblivious to how much it helps him.

I think its pretty much dead in the anglosphere. Theres just to many thirsty guys on there matching with these chicks. You better have model good looks, be bodybuilder jacked, and have the tightest game a man can have to stand out in the sea of 100's of matches these bitches have.

I completely agree. I would also like to add, that it´s gotten worse in the last months. I remember using Tinder like one and a half years ago and I had some decent results. It was relatively easy, to get dates and I even banged some girls. I recently installed it again and it was much harder to get matches. Forget about setting up dates, let alone fuck these bitches. I came to the conclusion that there´s too many guys on it. The ratio must be horrible now.

Although I have to admit, that my roomie got few a lays out of the app. Which was surprising since I´m taller, better looking, in better shape and usually, my game is tighter Huh. I just lack his patience, I get bored and next girls quite rapidly. I have to mention tough, that he specializes in women who are older than 30. He´s older than me as well, so he doesn´t have a problem with it.

I´ll stick to day game from now on.

I fail on the online dating across the board. Zilch. I think online dating is about 1. race, 2. face. With real life game dying out, I just don't know what to do now.

Race is a controversial topic. I'm in a minority group that's popularly said to be loserish but I do well; here are my views:

1) Vaginas are not racist. Girls will give up their vaginas to anyone who gives them the immediacy of tingles. It's like Dante Nero of Beige Philip, who is black, says: "I am no girl's preconceived notion of a sexy dude, but they fuck me." This happens because a girl will fuck any guy who gives her the primal immediacy of tingles, even if he is not what she thinks she likes. When I bring a girl home, trust me, there is no way that while getting ready a few hours before she visualized her clownface makeup splattered all over the pillows of a bizarre-looking ethnic weirdo like me.

2) If you are not white, you will do way, way, way better in real life than on any online avenue, not because girls are racists, but because the heuristics and unconscious biases of online dating works heavily against minorities.

This is a perfect summary of how race plays out in the online dating market without sounding pitiful/bitter. [Mind you, those are natural emotions when one is treated unfairly. They just aren't very *productive* emotions].

I do fine with Asian girls IRL, but on OKC/Tinder/PoF? Nothing, nada. At this point I use online just to A: have an alternate supply, and B: so I know when I'm relying on online too much and not getting dates with the girls that I want, then I'm reverting back to my anti-social ways and need to get out more.
