They weren't about to get into a cab...tried that with the 5-6ish girl before leaving the bar. The one I was with simply wasn't letting the other out of her sight...kind of a big sister mentality. I notice that J-dudes often wear a blazer or sport coat when they're out at night or when in business casual, but that they rarely use a pocket square. Has that been you-all's observation? If so, then I think that's an easy way to peacock here in Japan by rocking the square. I noticed yesterday when I was be-bopping around Tokyo in my waistcoat with a moderately colorful square that I was getting checked-out more than usual. I didn't see anyone else wearing a square the entire day.

@skotch and sargon- Japanese girls act differently that white/europeans. Subtletly (in public w/friends) is the name of the game. Its all on the DL, until private when you pounce. thats my 2c.

A little kiss here and there away from her friends. An ass grab maybe. But no heavy, forceful-ness unless you are already dating. Actually this applies in principle to all Asians. Maybe this is why I do poorly w/American girls sober.

Another thought- Keep the ratio of girls more than guys ESPECIALLY if you are a big guy (5'10 or tall). Girls will get intimidated if its 3 big guys and 2 petite girls. Its a space/comfort issue. Only exception is a 2v2.

I've been in Tokyo for 3.5 weeks and last night I finally broke my dry spell here. I think I played it almost perfectly, so maybe this story can give some of the other guys who are struggling some ideas.

I was about to stay last night because I didn't want to go out alone, but I decided to go out anyway. Good decision. I started off at Feria. Paid 4,000 yen which was totally not worth it. Seriously fuck these clubs with their exorbitant cover charges and lack of hot girls. I left around 3am. I was kind of annoyed, mainly since I've had very little success in Japan so far. I'm white, tall, and above average in looks (in my smug opinion), but my Japanese speaking ability is really bad. I was waiting for the first train home from Roppongi, but at 4:30 decided to go to one of the after-hours spots. Fast forward to about 5:30am. I already got rejected by 90% of the girls in the place and was about to go home. I saw this girl sitting by herself. I went up to her and she barely spoke English. I almost walked off, but instead I pulled her onto the dance floor. At about 6:30am I told her that we should go back to my place in Shinjuku. She said no, she couldn't leave her friend. 2 minutes later I said something along the lines of "I promise I won't do anything sexual to you. Let's just hang out and listen to music." 10 minutes later she found her friend who was with Japanese guy, and we all left. Her friend had puke all over her, but my girl just let her friend go home with the Japanese guy. No cock blocking whatsoever. Me and my chick got into a taxi and went back to my place. Had some marathon sex all day.

tl: dr:
-Girl didn't speak English so I took her to the dance floor and used it as an opportunity to get physical with her.
-"Promised" her I wouldn't try anything sexual on her if we went back to my apartment.
-Almost called it a night because I don't like staying out too late, but instead waited it out until 6:30am. As a result I had some amazing sex all day with a cute J girl.

My J game needs a lot of work, but hopefully I'm making progress. I'll only be in Japan for another week and a half so I haven't been putting in much effort to learn Japanese. I think with better language skills I'd do way better.

Congratulations on getting it done. It looks you didn't get cockblocked because the dude welcomed the opportunity to isolate his girl. I think this shows that one should approach mixed sets. I remember once at a club in Sendai me and my buddy started talking to two dudes who were with two girls. The guys were friendly but didn't want us talking to their girls. So, what did they do? They went and found two other girls and introduced them to us. The girls stayed with us until the club closed. If we had had better logistics I'm fairly certain we could have SNL'd those girls that night.

Also, in my experience it often does seem to be a little easier to find a willing girl in a club when it gets really late and people are starting to go home or the club is about to close. That part (having to stay up all night) is kind of a pain in the butt and I wish it wasn't seemingly necessary sometimes.

I'm currently reading Black Passenger, Yellow Cabs which I highly recommend as it's a very good book about being a player in Japan. It wouldn't surprise me if its author looks at this forum sometimes. Anyway, he addresses the deal with J-girls and I think he hits on something that may explain, at least in part, the psychology behind their flakiness:

Part of the reason is simply this culture doesn't really seem to place much importance on keeping your word when it comes to meetings. I've mentioned before that I have students, male and female, who, despite having already paid for lessons will still flake the very last minute, or not show up at all, saying "oops, I don't have time, I forgot!" when they get a call from my employer.

It's funny how private life is so different from business. Total strictness on one hand and complete flakiness on the other.

I have been intending to start some coffee shop game. Lately, whenever I have 10-15 minutes to spare when I'm out, I will pop into a Starbucks or Doutors, grab a coffee and just sit and observe while reading a book. I notice that when I walk into the shop, most of the girls will look up and quickly check me out, then go back to what they are doing, which is usually texting or reading something on their I-phones. And, what do you if they're sitting down and you're standing up when you approach and there are no nearby, open seats?

@Carlos100. I try to get their attention and wave. If they're interested, they'll smile and sometimes they'll pull the earbuds out. Then I ask if I can join them for a second. False time constraint is a bad idea because you can't instadate, but if you just throw in a "ちょっと" then I think you ease their mind a bit. I'm a chicken shit, so I don't really do this without a really solid situational opener, but I bet a Japanese girl who wasn't a total 野菜 would cream her jeans from your assertiveness.

I did this once with a sexy tall chick at Starbucks (face was so-so, but her legs were unreal). She had to have been 5'10". I just walked up and asked if I could join her. Usually if she's wearing headphones I just lightly tap her on the shoulder, same as you would do with anyone whose attention your trying to get. I feel I should start trying that waving tactic that Skotch uses...might be a better way of screening.

I usually just take a seat either near a girl who catches my eye. Another thing I might do is I sit down in a convenient spot with my laptop and wait for potential prospects to sit next to me, if I don't see anyone in sight initially.

There is a niche of women in Japan with a thing for Black guys, though I think the importance of race is overrated when it comes to your ability to pull in a country. A lot of factors about yourself are going to play a role in how you're recieved in Japan or elsewhere. Race is just one of them.
