JapanCupid and Metropolis classifieds. I think we covered these two dating sites earlier in the thread. The women you meet from them will usually be late 20s-early 30s and 5-7s in looks, mainly concentrated around 6.
I personally recommend pipeling just so you're assured of having a few dates set up and a good chance at getting your flag while you're here so you don't have to worry about it. But, to get the better quality, you'll likely have to go out hunting.

Never done Metropolis, but Carlos is right. You'd be doing well to meet a 7 on Cupid. Most are subpar to average at best. In general, online isn't great anymore in Japan but you could get lucky.
Anyone using Tinder over there? Could be worth a shot. I've matched with several J-girls here in Bkk and banged one, will do another this week (it's 95% in the bag). Both are 6s though.

I used tinder half-arsedly for when I was in Tokyo a couple of weeks and bar one girl it was more or less a waste of time. Resorted to 'carpet bombing' swiping to save time at parts yet got extremely few matches, so much so that I was wondering if the app was actually broken (perhaps I am too used to SE Asia levels of attention). However I just assume tinder just isn't really used or is as popular over there. Not sure if anyone else has had different results however.
The one quality girl I matched and got chatting I ended up hitting the jackpot with. Turned out she was even hotter than her photos when we met, ended up banging that night then it actually turned into a mini-girlfriend experience, was a real cracking girl to be with plus having a girl who lived there and fluent in Japanese really added to the whole Japan experience - both knowing what to do and organising it all.
On retrospective investigation however I just happened to get very lucky with the timing of this one. Turned out she wasn't too long split up with someone, so only recently fired up tinder again and instantly got a gazillion matches/messages from guys. But I apparently happened to have got chatting to her just when she had a dinner cancellation with her buddies, was bored and at a loose end and I was nearby so she decided to meet up (and the rest was history). She also said perhaps on another day/time she wouldn't have bothered to meet up, or maybe met another one of the many thirsty guys messaging her. Some of that could just be her hamstering but it really did seem very right-place-right-time on my part.
If it wasn't for her tho tinder would've been a complete waste of time for me. Then again I very very rarely bother to meet tinder chicks as it is, just not really my style. But she definitely went a long way towards me changing my attitude towards the app and online dating in general.

I've found in general in Asia, including Japan, tinder-like apps aren't worth the time compared to the alternatives. In fact in Japan I'd expand this to 'all real-life is better than all internet' (maybe if I could write Japanese better this might not be true).
However, like Irish's story, these apps have lead to some pleasant 'outlier' experiences, where you scratch your head after, thinking 'how the hell did that just happen?'. Its like you spend ages dragging a net through the sea, thinking 'why is this taking so much time and effort' (matches mean nothing), but from time to time the net grabs a big exotic looking fish, and you think 'yeah this one is pretty cool'. I think its because its accessible to women from every walk of life, so there is no subtle socio-geographic filtering. The only filter is 'I want a new dick', and they can noncommittally solitary window-shop for one from the comfort of whatever box-like structure they currently occupy. I will note that I too found a disproportionate number had 'prior relationship ended' based motives.

Yeah you mentioned them earlier, but was lost finding them again in the bowels of this thread, so just wanted to clarify. I honestly don't mind getting my flag with a 6, a Japanese 6 is like a UK 8 (as you lads mentioned countless times) and I'd be more than happy with that, at first anyway.

I was on Tinder for a bit just to try it out. Got a metric shit-ton of matches, but only two or three girls responded to my messages. I hop on from time to time now, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of talent. I think if you want something good, you're better off hitting the streets. If you put in work, I think you could easily pull online girl quality.
In other news, I'm starting to get out of my little slump. Got a PM about good places to hit up in Osaka and Kyoto. I was going to reply privately, but I thought if others could benefit from it I might as well post it in this thread.
Osaka is great for street game. I have yet to find a spot that really suits my sniper game, but for street masters it’s pretty good. You’ll see a lot of good-looking girls wandering about in the shopping areas like Nanba, Umeda, etc.
If you're going to be there over a weekend, I'd recommend hitting the clubs. Owl, Giraffe, and Pure are my favorites (Osaka veterans should feel free to disagree with me).
Owl is really popular with younger girls right now, and every time I go seems to be better than the last. It's also good because it's right in the heart of Umeda and there are a million other places you can go.
Giraffe usually has hot girls, but it's not the greatest club. I've pulled there a couple of times.
Pure is dirty as shit, but I get the most consistent results there of any club I’ve ever been to. The layout and clientele make it perfect for the club strategy I outlined in this thread (or maybe the "100 Approach Study Japan" thread... I can't remember).
BarOne is another good place. It tends to have a lot of slightly less attractive girls looking for foreigners, but if you want a high-percentage thing it might be a good bet.
The HUB in Umeda is another pretty solid place. It will have a good crowd almost every night of the week. Actually, it gets so busy that you need to be pretty careful about your timing. There are a lot of salarymen that hit the place around 7 or 8, and if you go too late they’ll have some of the cute groups locked down with the promise of free drinks. The situation escalated until we were literally chased out of the club by the smoking girl, her friends, two bouncers, and the manager (who actually apologized to me some time later).
Flamingo is supposed to be good, but I have no first hand experience. From what I understand, it was designed as a place for Kyoto's wealthy dudes to spend their money. They sit in the VIP section and the staff searches for girls to drink with them. I know a nanpashi that likes to go there. He has impeccable taste in girls, so I'd be willing to bet there's talent.
ZaZa is a little hookah bar that can be really amazing at times and totally dead at others. I definitely recommend swinging by a few times over the course of the evening. The front is all windows and you can survey the talent without going inside.
King Amila is an after hours club that I recommend highly. It's just 500 yen with a drink included. A lot of the kyabakura girls go there to hang out after their shifts. I was never able to crack the code, but it’s definitely worth a visit if only to get a little buzz-booster.
ING is a shitty little dive run by an old dude and his wife that was apparently the best place for foreigners to pick up Japanese girls about 10 years ago. Book review: Understanding Japanese Women: The Complete Guide to Successful Relationships with the Mysterious Women of Japan by Jonathan C. Richards
I just finished the Kindle edition of this book. Richards aggressively markets this book as being a profound tome of insights into successful relationships with Japanese women. My verdict: Not recommended.
Richards goes into the culture of Japanese women. In my opinion, his insights are neither profound nor illuminating. He simply states what anyone could find on their own by Googling "Cultural traits of Japanese women". The main problem is that he is approaching the subject from a blue/purple pill perspective. In my opinion, he should have started off from the basis that Japanese women are as hypergamous as any other women, but are affected by their culture. His approach is more like...Japanese women are precious jewels who need to be approached in a kind and considerate way, which kind of misses the point of using real game. Unfortunately, he also engages in some Girl Power! ranting which is really off-putting. He doesn't mention, or isn't aware of, the deeper causes for Japanese females behavior like their widespread daddy issues. I've had much deeper conversations on the psyche of Japanese women with my Western friends that are married to Japanese women than what he gets to in this book.
He pads the book by adding a long chapter on the "24 laws of attraction" which is typical purple pill dating advice that we all should be familiar with. Like most advice of this kind, it mixes some good game advice with some bad blue pill advice, like recommending taking girls to expensive restaurants on the first date to try to establish yourself as an alpha provider.
He concludes with a chapter on general conversational skills. It's not too bad, but I think you can get better conversational advice in books like Strauss' Rules of the Game.

That's pretty much nearly All literature on Japan, a lot of people just aren't here long enough/don't network, get out, meet enough people, to really uncover what's really going on here(There's a cultural reason for this I've and other members have mentioned ad nauseum). I see it on RvF here whenever someone just posts a link about Japans "Herb" men, or whatever, or like go to ONE club in Shibuya and claim that's all of Japan or something silly like that. Or anything about the country that someone finds off the net. It's usually 100% wrong. Really, the best source for knowledge on the stuff here is just getting the insights of people who've lived here a while AND spent the time actually meeting people. Get different perspectives from different kinds of people, and you'll be able to piece together a decent picture on what's actually going on here.

I've been using tinder for 2 weeks now in Tokyo, I don't have the tinder plus thing so I get around 20-30 swipes per 12 hours or so and out of those swipes I got 9 matches which either resulted in girls going radio silent if they replied (probably due to my text game which I need to work on) or they don't reply at all. Still no bangs off tinder.

I'll throw my 2 cents. Kyoto was decent to me at the end.
Karasuma st is a shopping street, so lots of birds wandering around aimlessly. Lots of spots near sanjo bridge, and brothers on a budget will appreciate that below the bridge social drinking outdoors is welcomed. Buy some booze at the conbini next to the bridge (its gotta be the most profitable in the city, seriously) and just hang out by the river. Great in the summer.
Average priced drinks, different theme nights.
Lots more cute girls though. Skotch is right on this one. Lots of international students, mostly friendly (20ish) and what seemed like lots of half japanese half brazilians, gorgeous chicks. Even the jap-brz dudes were kinda friendly when they heard I wasn't American. Your millage may vary.

The hookers do come after hours (3-4ish), but I could never figure out the pull... tough nuts to crack. Lots of fun at least to hang out with. Vibed well with a few, but couldn't escalate. Damn language.
Lots of foreigners and dutch courage. . . and the foreign girls largely meh.
Few girls unmatched (due to the unreal levels of lame game and drunk approaches).
Lots of shady characters too, but I dig that.
Overall I found very pointless to try pickup here, best to bring after other club (clubs end at 1-2am). Good for building a connection ('Us vs The Man').
Amila, the owner, is a cool dude though. No fucks given and wont take shit from bishes. I like him.

Good luck finding a seat if you don't have a table though.

Overall I found very pointless to try pickup here, best to bring after other club (clubs end at 1-2am). Good for building a connection ('Us vs The Man').

Thank you all so much for the abundance of information in this thread and on the forum in general. I have long wanted to visit Japan and experience it. But after reading all of this... if 25% of it is true, I will probably work towards living there for a year or two
Next weekend i will already roam Roppongi, hunt the beaver, and see how this land suits me. I will have three weeks.
I have two questions:
- Is there a big spa in Tokio, where tattoos are not a problem?
- A bit of beard for Japanese ladies, yes or no? Something like in this pic:

I think you'll have a blast and hopefully get the flag! as for your questions I don't know about spa's who accept tattoos here I'm not a big expert, but tattoos can sometimes get you kicked out from a gym not just a spa. As for the beard, I have a thicker beard than the one you posted and It is no big deal, hell sometimes I get compliments or IOI's since it is not that common for guys to have facial hair here. Tatoos: Mostly a no-no. Expect to cover them with shirt or bandaids or some way. You'd be very hard pressed to find a place that accepts them... unless they cater to Yakuza, and then you will likely not be welcome for being a foreigner.
Beard: those that like it like it a lot. . . but you will get 'tire kickers' more than shoppers.
Best of luck on the mean streets of Tokyo, but don't expect miracles.

Would you guys rather recommend Seoul or Tokyo if you have only a weekend and speak no Japanese/Korean? From what I have read Tokyo seems easier if you don't have much time.
Also, what is the ideal setup for a weekend in Tokyo? Are there any known hotels that are perfect logistics-wise? Can I just sleep in a cheap hostel and bring girls to a love motel to save money?

For a weekend I would definitely go for Tokyo.
Stay in a place like the New Otani Garden that has lots of girls wandering around during the day. I highly recommend the Chinzanso Garden that has lots of weddings there as well (makeup girls are a particular favorite of mine). Otani gets a lot of international guests so never discount this demographic. Foreign models in Tokyo are no joke, though they are more "cute" as per Japanese preference.
Akasaka is right there (Otani) and in the evening (early) hit up some after work spots for office ladies. There are some good cocktail/ whisky/ cigar spots around that attract older (30-35) women later in the evening.
If still searching, hit up Roppongi or Shibuya.
Saturday night, rinse and repeat or try hitting an HUB pub early on then going over to The Hills and see whats up.
This is my recipe for Tokyo and usually results in success.
Not saying that budget travelers cant have success in Tokyo, but I have never tried to budget it there so I cant say. All I know is good logistics are #1 in Tokyo and enough time to grind out a good game plan. Grinding it out involves cash.

Yeah, I was asking before about places to live when I move to Tokyo. People were saying Ueno is too far from anything, so I was thinking about the area around Tokyo Station. Would people consider this a good logistical location?

Tokyo Station is a business area, not a nightlife area, so it's good for hunting OLs (office ladies), but otherwise isn't as target rich as other areas like Roppongi or Shibuya, if I understand correctly. It is ok logistically for Ginza, but not for Roppongi or Shibuya.
I believe earlier in this thread there are some good reports on AirBnB places around Roppongi/Shibuya. The cheaper AirBnB apartments are tiny, but I think it's easier to isolate a girl (avoid triggering ASD) if you take her into an apartment building rather than try to take her into a business hotel, love hotel, and especially a gaijin hostel. Some of the AirBnB places are easy walking distance from Roppongi and Shibuya.
For weeknight gaming, the Hub is a good place. In Roppongi the places where OLs often hang out after work are D2 (across from Tokyo Midtown), Tusk (bottom of Mori Tower), and Il Riggoletto (I think I'm spelling it right) inside Mori Tower (Roppongi Hills).
