I wouldn't say that.. there are solid Filipinos from more typical family backgrounds too. You just have to separate the bullshitters with the solid personalities. I don't know why but it's never been hard for me in SEA. Maybe it's because i've been in SEA so long that I can naturally just suss out who is full of shit or not in person.

I also wouldn't bank on westerners in SEA being more reliable or trustworthy in any way shape or form haha. A lot of scumbag westerners around everywhere too. This is one reason why I don't hang out in public venues much anymore and just stick to social circles and people I know to get connected with other people. It's social pre-validation business networking style.

I am getting so much shade thrown my way just because I don't want to go to skimp and the high-end is where I can potentially make any $. You have to spend $ to earn $.

To paraphrase Wall Street Playboys: "If you want to make any real $, you sell value to the rich or cheap to the masses." What about that goal is so hard to understand.

Is it envy or jealously? Disbelief that somebody can roll in and sledge-hammer a city when he is spending heavily? You do the same in any city and you'll make friends. When you have $$$ in your pocket, there will always be people who want a piece. Then you have to sift through what you collect.

I've been on this forum for many years and I think I deserve the slightest bit of respect especially considering I've met and been vouched for by many people.

I thrown up a lot of good data albeit from my perspective and viewpoint.

Fast track to understanding people is seeing how people treat $ even if it is more expensive short-run. I am trading $$$ for time and potential inroads to business here. Or is it that your time isn't worth 200-300/day to do some recon for a potential city.

-Or what if you need to bang hookers here w/your business partners to show that you are one of them. What if you are being in a sense paid to bang hookers.
-Or what if you don't want to blow up a marriage and kids trolling for pussy. This might be many scenarios here in Asia.
- Or what if the local moneyed Phils see you dating some low class peasant harlot. How does that look to them? What if they don't trust you after that.

What if that 200-300/day lead to a lifetime contract and friendship. Would you have spent more to gain more friends and access or less and sit at home.

As a foreigner you are always being watched even if you don't feel like it. Every move is being scrutinized and judged. How you look, how you talk, what you have, how you dress.

I truly don't understand why I am getting this reaction here of all places. I thought it was about keeping an open mind, seeing the world for how it is, trying to improve yourself and getting the best out of life.

If my input is no longer wanted I will stop posting here in the Phils thread.

I drop by here every now and then to read about the comings and goings.

From the feedback I've seen the general consensus in my opinion is that your posts are no longer (and weren't ever) wanted.

It's like a circle jerk, yet you're the only person participating.

After 4 years in the Philippines, I would absolutely never do anything that you have described doing in your posts.

Relax DVY. Keep your frame, don't take anything emotionally, and don't react emotionally.

Folks are always going to hate on folks dropping $$$ - and that's coming from someone who doesn't drop $$$.

Also, my personal opinion is that while $$$ is required for certain social circles, there comes a point where you can't shortcut a time investment.

I figure that's even more true in old money circles, where they're constantly spammed by all the new, temporary, or fake money trying to break in.

DVY, weren't you a dentist in California? For some reason I had you pegged as one which makes this whole business trip really confusing. haha

If you can't understand why some, if not most, guys are taking your posts in a certain way, you may need to work on your social awareness.

Anyway, the whole tranny thing is strange. I am surprised trannies will make out or go home with a guy without telling them first. That would be dangerous depending on the guy who brought them home.

I believe last year a US Marine ended up killing a tranny there and was sentenced.
Onto · 2016-01-28 07:09:00 · #2809
DVY, you place a great amount of emphasis on $$$. No one here is jealous of you. Spending $200 in a night is quite doable for most anyone, but we don't see it as practical or even necessary. It's like mixing a $200 bottle of scotch with cola. It's wasteful.

Your posts make it sound like you believe buying friendships/relationships with money is the way to go. That even doing low-level things like banging hookers is ok, if it means being accepted.

I think you mentioned before you were half-Asian? If so, I wonder if you have more of a concern about being accepted by native Asians than us non-Asians would? For me, I don't have a concern about it because I know I'll always be an outsider. I only mention it because it seems to be an undercurrent in your posts.

It's natural to want to fit in and be accepted. I once at the Balut at a bar so I would be accepted by the group of American guys I was hanging out with, but that's a bit different than banging hookers.

Aside from all of that. The only sexual success you've mentioned was making out with a ladyboy. I understand you're going for top-tier "club" pussy but come on man, you're in the Philippines. The regular girls in the malls or grocery stores are just as fine, and the odds of being fooled by a ladyboy are much lower.

This comedy show has gone on long enough.

Wordwidetraveler was right on point and took the words right out of my post before I could post them, DVY – your self-awareness needs some serious work.

Some guys are harping on you pretty hard, but you've been all but begging for it for pages now - if we hadn't chatted already, I'd almost think someone hijacked your account. In any case, doubling down and doing more bragging in the face of this well-deserved criticism is not doing you any favors.

You honestly think you're getting grief because you're supposedly throwing money around and because you're supposedly killing it here? As if the men on this forum are somehow intimidated by these figures? The money you're spending is not impressive, and it's nowhere near enough to make anyone jealous.

Based on what you've posted, you're anything but "taking this city like a sledgehammer.” All I've seen is a lot of huffing and puffing, asserting you know more than guys who've spent up to as many as 10 years in this city or overall region (with no special insights to back that up), and spinning your wheels harder than guys who don’t even bother to post, let alone brag.

Then there’s this. You have repeatedly underestimated how many other guys are actually playing high end game in Southeast Asia. Nothing about this approach (other than the assertion that $200 is some big amount of money - on a vacation, no less) is especially unique. And others are doing it with a bit more success, based on what we've read so far. For the long-term rather than a 2-week whirlwind vacation. And not all of us white guys are cut off from cultural infiltration, believe it or not.

No one is hating on you for your "tastes." They're hating on you for your demeanor, for what obviously comes across as bragging about things that don't deserve bragging about (to those who didn't read it that way and are scratching it off as "haters", your reading comprehension could use some work), and obvious rookie blunders passed on as wisdom.

But here's the real bottom line.

If I meet a guy in a bar or a club and he starts going on about "how much" he spends, the distance between us cannot grow fast enough. Nobody cares about this stuff. It's like meeting that baller in the bar who wants to "casually" mention every important person he knows...

And I would feel this way no matter how much money he was talking about. Guy could be a billionaire and I'd want nothing to do with him.

But if it turned out the figures he was throwing around were in the low hundreds…well, I'd find the whole thing a bit ridiculous on top of that. After all, I would think most of us have done that kind of spending before; I've certainly never thought it was worth mentioning.

Then, your mention of throwing away the JW Black and Smirnoff. Belongs in the same category as the money thing. It’s a silly thing to do, but get this, if that's your thing, fine – I really don't think anyone cares. You really can’t see why mention of it comes across as humble bragging?

The fact that you already almost got beat up is further suggestive of this social calibration issue.

Then the going on about these girls who all want you. You keep mentioning about all these broads you've got on Tinder and how easy it is for you here. Newsflash: that not only applies to you but every guy who steps off the plane. We are, after all, in the Philippines. Manila, no less. Your list of leads is no big surprise to anyone and it's silly for you to throw it around like some big deal.

As far as having something to teach us, you came into the thread and announced to us all that the data is outdated and that Valkyrie is the new place to go, for crying out loud – this is the second guy I've seen do that, and (similar to others, I’m sure) I knew about that club long before I even arrived in the Philippines (without going out of the way to read data sheets before I came), so it’s no big secret or anything.

DVY, I don't expect you to listen at this point - it's hard to not be defensive when you are so heavily criticized and put on the spot. But you just need to come back down to Earth a little. Your vibe seems out of character to me based on what I've observed about you in the past, so maybe it's just arriving in a new place has you all hopped up.

If you can check your ego enough to consider that it might be something about the style of your posting that's rubbing everyone wrong, I'd urge some time for real self-reflection. As others have stated, you had mere days on the ground when you wandered in here spouting off. Relay your experiences more like an equal and less like you're tied into some world the rest of us supposedly don’t have access to just because you're part Asian and have Asian connections.

That's great you're making money and having a fun time, but at the end of the day, you're a dentist on vacation, Man. You know where you come across as an expert? In your dental hygiene thread. Not in a thread about a city you just arrived in.

And maybe you have connections and a bit of cash to spend, but none of this is anything new to any long-term cat in Asia.

Go back and reread your posts as if you were another grown man who'd been living here for years. Try to keep an open mind and assume a perspective of someone on the outside looking in. It's a tall order to review yourself so honestly, but I don't know any other recommendation to make at this point.

We're all evolving here - I'd suggest this is a place you could stand to evolve yourself a bit more. I’ve yet to meet a circle where the type of behavior you’ve exhibited in this thread wins you anything more than ostracization.

Have a question for you experienced phils guys

I visited manila and cebu in November and plan on returning again in April. One problem I kept running into with women was load for their phones. Do you guys use viber? Do you need internet or load to use it?

I would also like to hear your thouhgts on an important decision I'm trying to make about my vacation. ( 3 weeks )

Bang lots of different girls like last time?
Pick my favorite girl and travel around with her to palawan and other islands?

My last visit in November was fun and a new experience. Overall a good time. But, didn't get to see much and spent way to much time texting, trying to set up dates, rushing around from date to date and answering the same 20 questions.

I would take the trip to Palawan if you've identified a special girl you enjoy being with.

Seriously guys this country is the EASIEST place in the world to get laid with 6's even if its a small subset of the population. If you like darker girls then those 6's are 7's. Or 5's which lets be honest in the US would be 6's for sure.

You can put in jack black and even he could pull some poon. Or even Jonah hill when he was fat.

How are tattoos received in the phils? Visible ones like on your arms? I dont want to just limit myself to certain type of girl by my more western appearance of tattoos and a short beard which I DO NOT want to give up. Does it really not matter as long as your young/white/in shape?

Depends on your overall look. If you dress well and are decent looking overall it's not an issue. The beard is a slightly bigger issue but other stuff matters more.

Looking too intimidating or hard is not a good thing most of the time in SEA when it comes to girls or even socializing with guys. It's defniitely not the west where there's bonus points for looking like an escaped convict.

Most girls in asia as a general rule love clean cut, well dressed, slim, above average height, and slightly boyish looks. The farther you deviate from that the lower the pool gets.

Quite a lot of regular (and of course blue collar) filipinos have arm tatts though. Avoid guys with fraternity tatts..and by fraternity I don't mean college fraternity.

No it doesn't really matter. Just remember to bring your nice guy game. These women will be intimidated by you. Regardless of the tattoos. Just have fun and enjoy. But, watch out for the ladyboys. I accidentally day gamed a ladyboy in cebu and didn't even realized until about a minute into the conversation. Sometimes they are hard to spot.

Thats the impression I get. Thanks for clarifying. One thing I'm sweating, no pun intended, is clothes considering looking at forecasts its fucking sweltering hot there right now (looking at Davao and Cebu), I cant imagine its comfortable from say april to june and beyond. I'm thinking light chinos and well fitted Ts/button ups only.
the Thing · 2016-01-28 17:44:00 · #2823
Chinos and button ups sound like a good idea. I'd bring a pair of dress shorts as well.

My uniform was a button up, dress shorts and loafers. Chinos or jeans when going to the club. I brought T shirts as well but I ended up only wearing them to the pool or down to seven eleven to load up on condoms and lube between bangs. I'm also not really a T-shirt person but if you wear Ts daily, I don't see why not.

I followed the clean cut recipe to the latter. I racked up around 25-30 notches in 26 days so I could say that it works. If I could have fucked more (and higher quality) girls, the improvement that I would have needed was definitely in other departments rather than my outfit. First couple of days were the warmup period and I fucked one girl a day at most. After the clothing revolution (explained below) there was significant improvement. Towards the end, due to getting the flu twice and only eating one meal a day, I had lost 20 lbs, and all the muscle that I had gained in the previous 3 months and this brought my pull rate down to the usual level. So I can say that my pull performance to time graph was in the shape of a bell curve on which the increase correlated with the time I figured how to dress Phil style proper.

Most of the girls I had fucked (especially the young and hot ones) said I looked absolutely gorgeous in a white shirt, so around halfway through my trip I made a brilliant judgment call and dumped all my non white shirts down the garbage chute. I own only white shirts now. I had an H&M shirt that I was particularly successful in, so I just went to an H&M store bought 5 of the exact same shirt and made it my uniform. The pull numbers stayed roughly the same but the quality increased significantly.

While we're on the topic, about the "pissing people off" discussion: Due to me wearing the exact same fucking outfit every day I started getting noticed. One night I matched with a girl on Tinder and she recognized me saying she'd been seeing me around with different girls every day. I said "no you're mistaken", then she said it was fine and she was DTF. We exchanged pictures, she sent a naked body pic and I sent a lower body/dick pic without face. I had to go somewhere else so I told her I'd text her the next day.

The next day I called her to fuck, then she said she was with an Arab dude and that they wanted to have a threesome with me in which the Arab kid would suck my cock and take it up the ass. I said no gay shit then the Arab kid got pissed that I called him a faggot. When I pointed out that sucking another man's cock was indeed faggotry, he got mad and started spitting death threats, that he knew who I was and where I hung out, that he'd find me etc. I said "oh fuck right off" and hung up.

Over the next couple of days I noticed two "hired gun" type dudes following me around trying to not get noticed by me, one time I caught eye contact with one of them, looked straight at him for a while, then he responded with a throat slash gesture. I got freaked out. My guess is that he was afraid I'd dox him (I had his name, picture and phone number) so he wanted to scare me off, since the two guys had plenty of chances to come at me if they wanted to, plus I know how ashamed a spoiled Arab kid would be in front of his family if something like this got out. I got lucky but this could have ended very badly.

DVY that takes some grit to bow out so gracefully after this shitstorm. I'm sure you're not 100% sold you were in the wrong, and as I said, it's difficult to not get defensive when everyone lays into you. So I respect the humility in your apology regardless of what else went on here.

I hope you at least take some time to consider if there was any truth in what I wrote. I'm sure guys do find your stories interesting if you just tone down the elements that were rubbing everyone wrong.

In any case, I don't mean to drag the discussion on further at this point, so I'll leave it at that and let things get back on track.

Guys, not every trip to Asia is a successful one, especially for those of us who can only come for a couple of weeks or so. There's jet lag, a different climate, food poisoning and all kinds of new viruses/bacteria attacking your immune system which may already be weak from exhaustion. In addition, there are different cultural norms, tourist traps, scams, shitty venues which may appear to be good, shitty hotels/apartments/neighborhoods for game even if they seem good based on reviews outside of RVF. I definitely faced all these problems at different points in time. While many of my trips to Asia were great, I had at least a couple of trips when I regretted going.

What I'm saying is that I wouldn't judge and criticize DVY so hard based on his experiences in Manila so far. He is a highly repped forum member who has contributed a lot in other topics. I give him credit for sharing, because we can all learn something from his posts here, such as not wasting too much money at venues like Valkerie (which is not a very good venue for game anyway, in my experience) or not booking a hotel or apartment too far from Makati or the Fort unless you have a specific reason to do so.

We have enough enemies out there just for being red pill, venturing out, trying to improve our lives and have fun. At least, let's learn form each other and be friendly.
