Plans not entirely set but Im looking at Feb 15th to March 5th in Cebu. Make a side trip to Bohol for the beach and diving, but mostly work my way through the girls of Cebu for a couple weeks. Plus where I'm at its -23C which is too damn cold.

If anyone wants a 1 BR condo next to century city mall in makati... I found one in a good tower. Normally it would cost you 50 euros a day but I negotiated a price for a month for 27500p (550 euros). I won't use it myself because I'm off to either palawan or Bohol but I'd you want to rent it in my place I'll introduce you to the owner. Send a pm if interested.

Anyone feel like getting out of Manila for a little while? I'll have time to burn and want to do a mini tour of Luzon. Still haven't seen Subic, Baguio, Banaue, or Vigan. Should be able to do most of it by bus.

Personally, I feel the preference here is at least a little more ambigious than in other Southeast Asian countries. Some girls here actually like it, which is pretty rare, in my experience, in other countries in the region.

It just so happens I'm wearing hair on my face right now for the first time in a while and getting lots of compliments and encouragement.

Classism is far stronger when it comes to these things. I know plenty of middle to upper middle class filipinos who jump between asian countries too. They don't get treated badly at all. No one can tell the difference anyhow and when it's brought up noone cares because they obviously don't fit into the general stereotype.

However, if someone looks like someone from the underclass ie. housemaid, laborer farmer, or ho and acts like one they will get looked down on in Northeast asia.

Remember there's plenty of ethnic Chinese filipinos too.

Chinese Pinoys don't get along well with Chinese here. The Chinese still see them as Filipinos and believe me, the stuff that is said in Mandarin here is not nice. Additionally, most Chinese Pinoys can't speak standard Mandarin - so they can't communicate with mainlanders.

Dreambig speaks Japanese and has reported he's heard quite a bit, and the Korean doesn't even need translating - Koreans frequently treat Pinoys like garbage in Manila. A friend of mine has even stopped a Korean from verbally abusing a Filipino from time to time. The perceived power imbalance and cultural norm of not complaining is too much for the average clerk to even think about standing up to.

As for Filipinos abroad, I agree that they're treated with some respect. But aside from OFWs that don't leave their employers houses or factories, the Filipinos that are even granted visas are easily in the top 5-10% of wealthy people in the country.

A Pinoy getting a Chinese/Japanese/Korean visa without an OFW gig is quite a feat.

And having left the country flying out of Manila dozens of times over the years, it's easy to see who is going to work, who's western husband is taking them on a vacation, and which Filipino families are in East Asia for vacation.

East Asians are very racist against non-Singaporean Southeast Asians. I'm not going to concede this point. And anyone who says "it's not that bad" just can't hear or understand the shit they're saying.

Chinese pinoys don't get along with mainland Chinese because it's very different culturally. However if you put ethnic Chinese pinoys beside Chinese singaporeans, Taiwanese, or Chinese malays there's a lot of commonality there. A lot have the same hokkien roots. Just letting you know MOST ethnic Chinese in asia don't find much in common with mainland Chinese to begin with though besides mandarin and some very distant ethnic kinship.

I am 100% fluent in mandarin and have relatives in the region too. It's way more nuanced especially if you hang out within these distinct communities a lot. I also hang out with mostly asians abroad who are made up of many different varieties of local asians or foreign expat types. I'm not saying that things are exactly open since there is obviously very distinct classism but it's not quite dog eat dog racism. People aren't sneering at each other and calling each other names in public all the time. People are chill 99.9% of the time unless you give them a reason to dislike you. Asians will have very deep preconceived notions of different asian nationalities but my point is that on an individual level it is easily broken. Keep in mind I travel around asia a lot and am always mistaken as one visiting asian ethnicity or another and sometimes it's the nationality that they dislike the most.

I've been around tons of very mixed international crowds of asian groups including socially well adjusted mainland Chinese where there's no beef at all.

I almost fall in love with this girl every time I see this video and just found out that she's a (US raised) Filipina.

Ill throw up a data sheet on how I lock down a city in 72 hrs. Takes $ but you will get locked in from top to bottom in less than 3 days in guaranteed, but expect to spend about one months local salary in 3 days. Spread that $ around and let the rich want you to join their circles.

That $150-200/night here in the Phils you spend will give you 10x returns. Free shit. Locals taking you to underground spots. Driving you around to the hottest clubs. Inviting you to their strip club! Locking you in at the highest level. I got offers to go for VIP boxing whenever I am in Vegas- cat manages one of the semi-famous boxers (1k+ seats in Vegas for boxing whenever i want). Connects at the highest level of government in less than 24 hrs.

Keep in mind that you if have nothing to offer they will give nothing in return. You need to give them a pathway to ever growing easy $ or connects. This can't be faked. I have this because of potential avenues of large biz thru my uncle and his connects in taiwan/asia and my connects in USA for making EB-5 visas for the top .01% of filipinos who want to move to USA permanently.

I am also peripherally involved in opening up markets for other investors who have no access, desire, language exposure or cultural know-how to deal w/3rd world corrupt nations or 2nd world Asian countries. You need to be airlifted and parachuted into the top through family connections OR you can spread that $ around and see what bites.

The easiest way to get $ is to have zero need for that $. To treat it as a game. A casual activity that by itself will build trust and lead to ever growing tree of connections and wealth. Don't worry. Come from an abundance mentality. $ is infinite. Your reputation and rolodex is the platform by which you will grow. Give freely and you shall receive more than you can chew. I truly don't get how more people don't do this. Maybe I am just a weirdo but thats my mentality.

Talk shop with people to imply that you are a serious cat and that $ is no issue and you will get all the keys to the kingdom. There is also some non descript bar speakeasy that you can enter from a 7-11 that's real hot. So far that's what I've gathered. Might hit some strip clubs w moneyed phils and throw around $. Never hurts to make a good impression to go chase girls together w 40+ yr old Filipino loaded dudes. It's a bonding experience for sure

There's also a Saturday morning farmers market in makati that is decent for day game, lots of people a little more upscale crowd wise (more tourists than locals you would see in other similar markets) and a wide variety of fresh local foods. It's geared towards a more yuppie crowd like you'd see in a Santa Monica farmers market

I think I went to that speakeasy as it was across from my apartment when I was there. If it's the same one it's called The Curator and they do pretty elaborate mixed drinks that cost 10 to 15 dollars each I think which is rediculous for Filipino standards but normal for US visitors. I only went there during the day they had really good coffee also mixed pretty elaborately, the bartenders there are good connections for sure.

Edit: just googled it's not the same place the speakeasy in the 711 is called Bank Bar

A standing table where you have lower tier bottle rats in Valkyrie is about 10k pesos which is slightly more than what you say you are spending per night. I advise spending at least enough to get a seated table if you are really wanting to look good

Oh crap, sorry I converted wrong. I spent about 6,000 pesos last night. So thats about $125. Food, super premium drinks, cabs, buying drinks for the table, covers, cabs back, running around, cigs.

IE I spent a <1k peso entrance and then threw away the drink tickets because all they wanted to give me was JW black and smirnoff vodka. Fk that. Im not drinking that shit. High-end alcohols only on vacation. I can't afford the hangover.

The table concept is fine if you have a crew, but solo I can just join other ppl's table.

Hell I think I barely drink anyways. Maybe 7-8 drinks/night. Last night I think I had about 12-15 drinks. Drinks are also way less strong then America. America they always pour heavy. Def on the higher end because of the group social drinking aspect.
