Been reading RVF for 7 years...

My belief is that Roosh has fostered the forum to follow his own personality arc.

Back in 2012-2015, some of the best players – probably on the planet – were posting here and sharing their knowledge. It was infectious and the forum grew in that direction as a result. Some of these guys were world class.

Then I think Roosh got bored chasing women, and so began writing more about politics and related ideals on his blog, and began curating a similar mentality here. It's no coincidence that many of those top players/members began getting banned, asked to leave, or otherwise stopped posting around this time (2015).

It's also no coincidence that around this time, forum members began getting repped for political posts; something that never used to happen.

Today, the "top" and "rising" members here aren't necessarily players; instead they are politically motivated individuals eager to share their views on all issues.

The result, by design, is that instead of focusing on game and red pill ideology, the forum discourse is now largely driven by conservative/"alt-right" politics, which has united a majority of the members against a common enemy. But, it has alienated, chased off, or silenced dissenting members.

WIA is a great example of this. He is one the greatest minds and writers in The Game, but he's been relegated to the "Black Man Options" thread for years. How many new posters even know who he is?

Roosh is a very smart person, and it's no surprise that the forum discourse and majority opinion has reflected his own personal evolving belief system, almost identically, for the past decade.

Whether that's for better or worse is up for debate, but that's where the beef comes from: some guys have been given a microphone, others a muzzle.

Perhaps I'm nitpicking but this implies that he's been banished and that his input is unwanted.

Archie is not very vocal about political viewpoints and that is his choice. As far as I'm concerned, everyone has a choice and he chooses not to be involved; there is nothing wrong with that. Not everyone faps to politics and that's great.

No one is conspiring against him and telling him "know your place, negro!" If he wanted to spread out on the forum, that'd most likely be welcomed since he's one of the greatest minds we have on a number of topics.

He is very much a part of the core membership of RVF and it's a bit unfair to imply that he's been put out to pasture in some inferior thread. If anything, The black man options thread is the BEST PURE GAME THREAD on this forum. I regularly tell guys to read that thread if they want to get the distilled wisdom of some of the forum greats.

Also, if you look, Archie has over 300 reps, I think there are only like 2-3 other people who have that many reps and many of his reps come from 0-5 rep newbies. He is very well-known.

Co-signed for both that thread and WIA. I could always recognise from experience that his Game Advice is rock solid, and he'd usually get in an answer first before I could and write it more succinctly than I would have myself.

The verisimilitude of his advice is why he's a Legend, and Nasa Test Pilot has become shorthand for, well, face-palming gasconade.

Some of us older guys have already started to have a mid-life crisis. I won't call anyone out here, but you all know who you are. I had one last year. Well I still might be in it, but last year I was seriously trippin. I wonder when Archie is going to have one. He does not seem to have changed much at all. I even wonder if Roosh is having one.

We are all growing up with each other so in some ways, we have to put up with each other flipping out every now and then.

Maybe we should make a master thread in the Private subforum lounge thread for Existential/Mid-Life Crisis, so if anyone needs to talk out loud about something that sounds a bit nutty, they can have a safe space to do it in and not get skewered publicly. At least it can be a place to redirect the meltdowns in the Trump thread by various senior members.

Just a thought.

It just occurred to me, that if someone really asked me to sum up Verbal Game, it's the ability of a man to digress from any prescribed topic in a way that makes the group focus on the the digression rather than the ostensible subject at hand.

This is how, say, a cop will pull me over for speeding on a dirt road, and we'll end up sharing a cigarette and he'll eventually forget he's supposed to be reprimanding me. This is how, as a Sigma, you can capture the attention of the woman who is with the genuine alpha of the group, and spirit her away before he's had time to realise what's happened, because he's still trying to complete the same boring story as five minutes before, that everyone's already heard, but keep laughing at, because he's the alpha.

Hell, I remember being back in High School and hearing the playground gossip over the new German Teacher. Everyone was terrified of her strictness - they'd already nicknamed her 'Frau Cow' before I had my first class with her. I broke her by the end of the second lesson, and spent the next two years talking with her in class about anything and everything except what we were supposed to be doing. Screwball comedy jousting. (I can see I had a crush on her, and, most-likely, the feeling was mutual, because I ran into her as an adult, and the old verbal chemistry was still there coupled with the weight of something unspoken that the passage of time had now made impossible).

I did write an Autobiography in my 40th year at the suggestion of female friend who was a book editor. This might be hard to explain, but I'm very, very glad I did do this because my passage through my forties has really erased the earlier years - most of my childhood is now gone, existing only as fragmentary remembrances, and the teen years and a lot of the twenties are also starting to fade.

She loved what I produced, as did those in her circle she shared it with. One note was "It's like 'Angela's Ashes' if it was actually funny", so I went out and bought the book trying to figure out if that was an insult towards me or towards the writer of that book, but, well, it's seven years later and I know it's floating around somewhere in the house but I guess I never did getting around to reading it.

Still, my would-be Editor - and I think I can accurately-guess here that she wanted to be my lover as well - had this constant problem with my use of footnotes:

"Look, they're great, but you need to integrate them into the work".

"The whole point is that they're digressions. That's why they're footnotes."

She looked over her glasses at me, and pointed to her laptop. "That one..." she said, and I knew it was the story about my childhood attraction to what is now known as 'Spoopy', obvious to the serious Occultism of everyone around me, "... is a Novella in itself."

"...and?"

"It's 8,000 words! I checked!"

"That's the whole joke. It's a footnote that's more interesting than the 'true' narrative."

She argued the point, and, so I poked at them a bit, but never really could find a way to integrate them without ruining the rhythm, and, after a couple of weeks, I realised that: I'd theoretically-written the book to my satisfaction; that it wasn't as hard as I expected; and that everything that followed from that point would be tedious publicly-speaking about the work in order to shill it; and it would just be gaining me public attention that I really didn't want.

I realised that, in the end, I'd written it so I'd remember. The detours I traveled along on the journey to my destination were far more interesting than the destination itself. Life's like that.

Similarly, Trump cheerleading, or everyone theorizing endlessly, meh. It's like everyone talking about Sports: no-one's really playing the game, we're all just armchair quarterbacking. This is why, in most social situations, I'm monitoring the conversation enough to look at why I'm paying attention, but watching the unspoken dramas playing out within the group. Who is irritated by whom? Who's not being faithful to their partner? When does the tedious social game snap, and things become really-interesting?

This is why I used to love listening to Forney, Aurini and co. Fascinating personalities that were guaranteed to generate unexpected conflict.

I remember being bored out of mind in a Maths Class - one of those foggy days outside the window that you wish you could just dissolve into to get away from class - only to see the Special Needs girl walk up to the front of the room, and bluntly-ask the teacher if he would please fuck her.

I remember thinking: Now we're talking.

No-one breathed. No-one laughed. This was so far outside the boundaries of the expected situation, that I doubt the reaction would have been much different if the fog had cleared to reveal a UFO sitting on the sports oval.

Later, after class, the hotter girls were all like, toadally - never 'totally' - and ohmigodding about it, and I could only shrug: "What? She was polite about it. She said please."

This is the sort of thing, that if it happens in your social group, you find the girl you're interested in and run you and me against the world game. "Are we the only ones really seeing this?" or "You seem to be the only one who is keeping her shit together." Ask her what she thinks, then keep digressing, and then, you're now your own private clique and everyone else in the room is outside it.

So, Trump thread... rah rah blah blah. Scroll, scroll. Oh, Fisto becoming Duke. Now I'm intrigued. I mean, I have absolutely no idea what exactly to say to him now, because he's obviously-had a very deep personal experience and I feel somewhat spiritually-inferior by comparison. Hell, I had a woman around the corner from my house randomly stop me on the street the other day and ask me if I knew how to fix her laptop - a ridiculous idea looking the way I do! - and it was became fairly obvious that she just wanted any excuse to get me inside so she could then try to seduce me into fucking her. Note that she didn't say 'Please'.

And whilst I didn't fuck her, and cheat on my fiance - I damn well thought about it, so I don't think I possess the necessary virtue to really offer Duke guidance. I mean sure, she'd interrupted me quietly-saying ten Hail Mary's for Fenetre, and I had a 19th Century Prayer book in the back pocket of my pants, but I'm damn sure she didn't stop me because she detected an aura of holiness about me.

Funnily enough, I talked to Bill the next day, and he said how he'd been picking up something from a woman's place the day before, who then asked him if he knew anything about engines, and the game was on.

"She was hogging for it," he said. "I wouldn't have had to say any more. She was on the platter, arse in the air, apple in the mouth, waiting for the stuffing."

See what I mean: the unexpected digression from Bill of not closing was far more interesting than where I expected the conversation to go.

I've never understood what the problem with this kind of thing is. There's a magical invention that can solve everyone's problems if they don't like the content of posts. It involves not responding to the post in a manner that says, stop stealing my attention, or, in that particular case, it must be some instinct to White Knight for Trump, like everyone's going to magically-forget about him if a few random posts of one internet forum are going to steal his limelight.



This is why I didn't notice how ridiculous NTP ended up, because I'd already decided he was a retard early on in the piece and had scrolled past everything else he'd ever written, until he got up to the olympic gold medal swimmer with lightning bolts shooting of his arse stage, and even then, he still wasn't that interesting, so, if you look back on the forum, you'll see I immediately got distracted by the member who asked if 'fecal accidents' were normal and claimed a dick had 'accidentally' fallen into his mouth. Maybe he'd gone out the front to bring in his waste bins.

Scrolling seems a lot easier than content policing every single thread with what is allowable conversation. This isn't a horror movie, where you're being forced to read everything against your will by evil forces, and you're secretly-hoping a big strong mod will swoop down and save you from the Bad Man.

Personally speaking, I do a lot more reading than I do posting. Like Stalin, I was on the fence about posting, but here it goes.

As far as beef, in any pack you've got the lead wolves laying it down on the lower tiers. Sure, it stings a bit, and the lower guys eat last, but everyone works together at the end of the day to take down the reindeer so they can all get enough to survive. As the alpha wolves get older and phase out, the next generation takes the torch with the lessons learned and continues on. They might be different, but they have more in common than otherwise.

Regardless of your political views, I would argue that anyone who is seriously here for fraternity and the betterment of themselves realizes the anti-men climate we're living in. That, in my opinion transcends any difference in opinion. At the end of the day, we have more in common than not. Most men want the same things. Progress. Money. Experiences. Women. Sex. Family. Intellect. It's my belief that if you can offer value in any one of those areas, you will find a place here.

Unless I'm posting here, or in the fitness forum sometimes, I always try to ask myself: is this post adding value? If you look at posters like WIA, kaotic, jariel, etc, you can see the pattern. They're always trying to add value. In my opinion, there's too many newbies here who have gotten away from that. At the end of the day, the younger guys like myself have to learn, go out into the field, test, improve, and report back their experiences. That's how we keep driving value. My generation just sucks at taking action, which has not helped this forum's quality.

It's also been my belief that political bickering is not a value add. Part of the reason I avoid discussing politics is the emotional charge that people feel with politics. Guys are acting like women when you say something that counters what they believe. Discussion of why you believe that way is instead replaced with "you're wrong" etc. As opposed to reaching common ground, and working with what we do share in common, we let small splinters drive us apart. For someone with a very full life, that's tiring.

The only overhaul we need is for RVF members to remember why we are here above all else. It's hard to truly beef with someone when you share so much in common. Meetups encourage that, and that's what I want to focus on for 2018 personally. If I can add 1/10th the value of what has been freely given to me here, that would be an accomplishment.

Just my thoughts, feel free to critique.

The community here has changed over the last couple of years and now there's a sort of "new vs. old" thing we've got going on.

This forum used to be a place for men of action. The reason for the "beef" you may see from time to time is that of the few older members that are left, some of them like to try to maintain a sense of pride for the community and uphold some semblance of integrity and credibility of the membership and content.

There is no "fix" for this besides just letting the place continue to evolve organically as it is.

Also, in response to people pointing out Roosh himself has shifted his focus more from game toward politics and philosophy, partly as a response to getting older and growing jaded with game and lifestyle pursuits: keep in mind what Roosh has pointed out about how much game has changed in the past 15, or even 5 years. Being a man is a completely different beast than it used to be. Running game, making money, being "Alpha"--all valid things to focus on. But the changing state of the culture, not just in Western countries but apparently worldwide has left many of us in need to try and make sense of it all. Maybe our whole notion of personal development has to evolve, too.

As long this forum is populated by men, there will always be beef.

Better to get used to the idea and deal with it.

But here's the thing - as many forum members probably have already said, it's easy to avoid a beef if you don't want one. A simple PM clarification, simply posting you don't want beef, etc, are real easy ways to avoid one. The only people who get in fights who are either spoiling for one or asking for it (those damn sluts), whether they realize it or not.

Beef is solved by PMs, meetups or by entering the ring, but I think that there are many misconception of why all of this is happening. Personally I go wherever my intellectual curiosity leads me.

Would anyone of you have cared about a guy like Trump in the year 2000 (for those who are old enough)? Do you think that the world has changed tremendously since even 2010? Look for example at the media, at the social justice spreading. Heck - not even movies or comedies would have been made now that were still fine a decade ago.

The forum reacts to what is happening in the real world - I have no solutions to it all - the forum is an organic creature with strengths and weaknesses and it will have to reflect what is happening in the real world as a consequence. I posted this some time ago in another thread:

No idea how you could have ridden that horse all without any politics and "only positivity" and anti-feminism. In addition the articles covering and making fun of feminists and SJWs all became stale. How often can you make fun of the crazies while going to town and seeing a Brazilization/Islamization of your city? Then another one rides through town and squashes schoolgirls, then another one rips teenage girls to pieces at Ariana Grande concerts. What is the limit to the dancing on the Titanic and not taking a look at the motivations for Islamic terror. Deny what is written in the Quran, Hadiths, Sira, deny what Ex-Muslims, Ex-Salafis, and learned Oriental scholars say? Just do it like Huffpo?

I wish we could be all talking about banging girls, traveling around and enjoying life, but similarly to how Heartiste moved far more to the right and became political so did RVF. After all - it's a forum populated by Western men, sure many non-Whites and Roosh being of a slightly different heritage, but I personally compare it a bit to the German-Turkish writer Akif Pirincci. (Son to two Turkish immigrants.) He is a genius-level writer who is more German than the Germans and speaks in his highly amusing articles about the suicidal madness clearly. Also he married a German woman, so essentially changed the tribe. And Akif rips into Islam, African dysfunction and other tribes like you would not believe - he is less PC than Heartiste, but has a love for the Western tribe at his core being despite being of Muslim-Turkish origin. Common sense should not have a race. I can be living in Japan and still support the Japanese in their endeavor to stay Japanese even if I am banging their women. If I want to join their tribe, then I can marry one of their women and my son will be more or less Japanese (grandson at the latest).

People think that what happened was due to guys like me and others who post political stuff. I would counter - nah - the Game and travel part is still out there and outright racial posting of "how dare you fuck women of other races" are not tolerated. It's just that life has shifted and became more existential for a Western based forum.

Look at what happened to the forum of Christian McQueen, now The Cad Club. He had plenty of followers and guys sharing stories initially, but wanted to focus it mostly on positive stuff and Game. It sputtered and died. The reason is also that Game has changed. You don't need to dive into forums to learn Game anymore. There are excellent books out there, there are good courses out there, there are even good coaches (with many posers, but it's a free market). Being-anti-feminist and anti-SJW is also not as edgy as it seems as you see your culture being wiped out. Maybe some like it and enjoy the US becoming Mexico or Europe an Afro-Arabia. My guess is that the majority does not. There were posters here who had 10.000 posts and were gay as it turned out - they were only flushed out after it became more political. There were guys here who posted regularly who became wealthy as Mexican immigrants hiring countless illegals in their businesses. Of course they liked the US becoming more like Mexico - a wall is racist.

It's actually a tough call to make and frankly I doubt that Roosh could have stopped it all by banning everyone who posts any political content, by forbidding people to talk about Donald Trump (and the connected topics it brings).

It might have gone the way of the McQueen forum or it would have stayed a happy place of apolitical gifs and making fun of feminists. Though I doubt it - you would have to ban everyone mentioning any terrorist attack or speaking about Trump.

Personally I think that RVF has managed to stay the course while staying relevant. You can still learn about a wide range of topics - personal attacks without substance are frankly the only ones that I would call beef. Part of it is the hyper-reality of the internet and part of it is caused by guys who are either set in their ways or they are socially inept newbies who have their own political agenda, but don't like what other men here share.
