We've always had forum drama. The multiple GManifesto inquisitions for example.

RE: How can we end forum beef?
Quite frankly, I don't mind that the forum has a political ideology and I think the crypto forum is an asset. The problem lies for me personally first of all in the spillover of political posters to all other subforums, where they derail topics and try to push through political aspects in topics that were not meant to be discussed in such a fashion. The mods do nothing to prevent this.

Furthermore, within the political subforum, other opinions are not tolerated, not even discussed in a rational way. This is not good, because we might lose interesting and valuable people just because they get chastised for not being politically in line with the rest of the forum.

And third, the decline of the travel forum has been discussed already in detail in another thread. The reasons are known and the solutions as well, but the management of this forum decides not to act and maintain the forum as it is.

So basically, we can discuss all we want, but if the mods don't do anything or don't care, then those well-repped posters of the past who build this forum will just move on and find other ways to communicate.

RE: How can we end forum beef?
My solution for the beef problem occurring in the Jordan Peterson was a request for another 'Jordan Peterson Political Thread' be created, so that well respected members would A) Stop arguing on trivial points, and B) So that people who like JP could talk about his work without constantly being lectured at about his refusal to discuss Jews etc. Roosh agreed and created a separate thread and it's pretty much stopped the bickering.

As for people coming in and making enormous claims about their life, they could send proof to Roosh that what they're saying is accurate. That would prove veracity going forward and eliminate the 'NASA troll' accusations.

RE: How can we end forum beef?
I've had my difference with people here. And I don't want to invalidate the feelings of anyone who has their own issues with forum members.

But we should really put this all in perspective. We have a country where average American "wine moms" are wearing pussy hats to political rallies and teaching our kids that "intersectional feminism" is a valid concept they need to know about.

There are bigger enemies out there than the ones we come across here. When you start to get pissed at someone, take a second to think about the suburban moms with bullshit degrees who live in McMansions and teach kids at the local high school and college about how oppressed they are.

All subcultures have infighting. But all mainstream cultures didn't always have "intersectional feminism." The real battle is on the outside.

Also, PMs solve most issues. I've had it out with some very highly repped members, and after a few back and forth's everything is fine and you realise how silly it is.

No one would gain rep for political posts. You'd have to gain rep (both formal and informal) by actually meeting members, providing value on and off the forum and by developing meaningful relationships of respect through Skype/instant messenger/phone calls/etc.

On the other hand, this is one of the only places we can sincerely discuss politics anonymously. The chans are anonymous, but without a real-life reputation system, they are awash with trolls and LARPers.

I'd personally make the politics/crypto section private for those below 150 posts and 5 rep. I'd also suggest making the travel and meetup forum invisible to those below 20 posts in the Newbie forum, lurkers should be encouraged to contribute.

The rep system could use a revamp to be honest. Posting funny shit isn't the same as meeting or interacting. Separating it into two scores would be a step in the right direction.

This is basically how I feel about the forum these days. This forum remains a positive asset to my life, but in a different way than even a year or two ago. Instead of reading up on game advice and travel datasheets, I use this forum to network with others in real life, not so much for gaming but also for exchanging business ideas and strategies.

Although I use the politics forum to keep a pulse on what's going on around the world, I stay away from discussing it because I don't see eye to eye with others who aggressively shout down others on points having to do with religion and ethnicities. I mean, I got shit from others when I said "not all [members of a religion] are like that, my own family is an example" so I simply stopped engaging in those discussions. I would caution against the dangerous trend of pushing people away if they are not 100% in line with the overall 'tone' of political threads, but this would probably fall on deaf ears anyway.

RE: How can we end forum beef?
People want to be a torchbearer for something so down the line they can say "I told you so". I dont even get into posts or threads about The Joo's as its not interesting to me nor is it within my power to do anything.

I'm interested in the political side more than the game side these days because I see that section having a much more profound impact on my life than discussing women. Women aren't much of an issue for me as I am older and more experienced and I am no pioneer of Game either so I keep my mouth shut unless I see something out of the ordinary.

I agree there are *cough* some posters who throw things out in threads completely unrelated to the topic. Laugh

At this point, other well meaning posters jump in to defend either side and the original topic of discussion is totally lost.

How can we prevent this and be more respectful to fellow members and keep the posts on topic? If a new member came on and posted like that, they would be banned straight away. It's ironic that these members get their clout on RVF for bashing feminism but are more bitchy than Jezebel.

Well repped members. Being well repped don't mean shit.

You have a white worshipping so called proud to be indian pussy with 140 odd reps named Cobra advising his fellow men to avoid women of his own indian diaspora unless they know whites because the ones that don't are the ugly ones.

Asked the wuss to elaborate on that and the coward clammed up. Said i was on his radar from now on.....like whatever thats supposed to mean, lol. I wonder how many white women on this planet feel ugly unless they know Indians?

It amazes me people actually look to this guy for advice on how to game women?

That comment came on the heels of another Indian guy confessing he won't even acknowledge the presence of his fellow Indian woman while in the presence of whites. And would only address them once a white started talking.

Gimme a break....the 2 most outrageous comments I have ever read on this forum. It's real sad actually.

This thread reminds me of the Simpsons:

Flanders: I guess this is a case where we'll have to agree to disagree.

Skinner: I don't agree to that.

Krabappel: Neither do I.

RE: How can we end forum beef?
The 'problem' is twofold (at least):

1. It's the internet. People can say whatever they want without the repercussions they would face in real life. I at least try to make an effort to speak to other members as if I were sitting in a bar with you guys shooting the shit. If I called a man a Paki or a half-breed to their face I'd get my head kicked in; on the internet, some angry text. This is why I hate it when posters drop racial slurs into their posting. I see that, think "Oh boy, here we go, thread derailed". I think we should make every effort to speak to each other without the screen, so to speak. That's not just on racial slurs - insulting other members just because you know you won't get a bunch of fives as consequence is petty, keyboard warrior behaviour. Just think: if you wouldn't say it to their face, don't say it. It's just basic respect for your fellow members, the thread and the forum.

2. The way the world is going is progressing (regressing?) at an every increasing rate, it's impossible to keep politics out of everything that isn't strictly political. Politics and culture shape discourse and affect the way that we live our lives, so it's natural that this will seep into other threads. I know there's egregious examples of posters who are probably trying to pull the forum into an alt-right forum, but I don't think there's too much of it as a regular thing. All we can do is use the report button when it gets too much, I guess. There's too much activity for the mods to wipe out any violations on the spot.

I feel like some members just got high rep so they could troll with immunity and whenever a serious discussion is going on and they don't like your views they will full an attack you. This problem will be solved if high rep members are held to the same standard as all other members, if high rep members continue to attack other members for petty reasons then they should be banned like a regular user would.

RE: How can we end forum beef?
Or we could have 2 separate forums. One that has a different URL, you need to sign up as a member again and wait 30 days etc...

1) The Roosh V Forum - centered on self improvement. Game, travel, women, crpyto, business, bodybuilding.

2) Return Of Kings Forum - centered on politics and culture. Politics, religion, race, jews, Donald Trump, feminism, SJWs, cultural degradation etc.

I believe that this would keep most the trouble out and make people more willing to share good things but the only problem would be that some topics that are overlapping. For example the family forum is naturally closest to game and women but also involves where to raise your family, avoiding bad influences etc which would fall under the political/cultural wing.

There’s definitely been a change on here: The injection of politics into EVERY FUCKING THREAD is very offputting, just like it is in every other thing in modern day “society”.

I disagree with this. There was member's(mid to late thirties) back then who had gaming experience from the 90's. I think the forum today is much younger then it was back then.

TheGManifesto was a polarizing figure, but as a younger guy at the time I lived vicariously through his playboy stories lol. I liked his style, although I could see how he was a turnoff to some of the crowd here.
