C'mon man. Zoos are great. For children they are a magical place. It's also a good place to bring Asian girls for a daytime date. I remember taking a train to the big city as a kid and visiting a zoo for the first time and seeing all the animals I had seen on TV, and it was one of my most memorable childhood experiences.

And there's no way that zoo animals live shorter lives than in the wild, with the expert veterinary care, abundant food and lack of predators.

Not to mention the inter-zoo breeding programmes that ensure when the last black rhino in the wild is killed for its horn to cure an old Chinese man's impotence, the species will still live on in captivity.

I agree. Lots of people seem to think that animals in captivity are perpetually miserable (some enclosures are quite shitty in fairness) but most animals are infinitely lazy when given the opportunity to be so. Life in the wilderness is a perpetual struggle of life and death. Predators face starvation from a single injury while prey live in fear of the predator.

I recall reading about polar bears who returned to the same traps year after year in order to live in comfortable captivity throughout the winter months. Many had to be violently evicted, even in the summer. Living in an enclosure might suck for a human, but animals are not humans.

Zoos, if well managed, are essential to urban areas and provide relatively comfortable lives for the animals. They teach kids and adults about animals. Although one can sympathize with them for being in captivity they have a higher quality of life than their wild counterparts. Would most humans rather live in comfortable captivity or in the wild where any moment could be their last due to murder, predatation, starvation, exposure, etc.?

I do not understand how this is even an issue. Its a fucking gorilla versus a human life. Liberals are fucking morons.

The mother is of course retarded and big surprise, the father is an absent criminal, but I still place blame on the zoo for not childproofing their enclosures. Retarded or not the family paid an entrance fee which in a developed country is a guarantee for a safe environment. Soon liberals and their short attention spans will lose their shit on the next issue, maybe when one of these men who lives as dogs gets charged for taking a dump in a public dog park, this family will sue the zoo and get a major payout.

If I remember correctly, zoos were good for moral in simcity.
I agree with the part that the zoo should have had a better railing system, at the very least a simple net would keep kids out, not 4ft high railing with 1ft spaced bars.

I wonder, would you be bothered if gorillas, lions, crocs, elephants, and even some minute ass salamander goes extinct?
I know I'd miss seeing them, and some others I'd think would upset the food chain.
