RE: [RUMOR]Hollywood superstar who has dated 'award-winning actresses' is HIV+
I was actually surprised that this whole Charlie Sheen thing is as big of a headline as it is. Twenty or thirty years ago, it would have been the story of the century and everybody would have thought he would be dead before the end of 2016. I'm asking you guys some questions here. If I contracted H.I.V. right now and never had any treatment for it, would it ever turn into A.I.D.S.? Other than getting sick more often and having a weaker immune system, would H.I.V., in its present state, kill me, in and of itself, or cause an illness which would kill me? Would H.I.V., in its present state, shorten my life? I'm being completely serious in asking this.

Short answer is yes. If I remember correctly Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) isn't a "disease" per se but rather the ultimate effects the HIV virus would have if untreated. By destroying your immune system the virus allows any number of other illnesses/infections to kill you. I'm no expert or medical professional by any means but that's my understanding
EDIT: I'm also pretty sure people are still dying of AIDS in the 3rd world...particularly Africa

Modern medicine will keep you alive and AIDS free.
In the gay circles they have robust medicines which are so effective that nobody cares in those circles to get HIV since the drugs will do their job.
In Toronto these drug corps push advertisements heavy at the local feral gay population:
^^^ In 2015 it is easier to manage HIV then it is for somebody to manage daily supplements for bodybuilding.
The downfall is that for hetero men, you will get fleeced as the drugs are expensive, and you still have stigma with the illness. I am not sure how a strait dude can navigate a normal sex life with HIV, you basically could not; and not disclosing to women you fuck, it can send you to jail in many places.

I understand that not only modern medicine, but the medicine of decades past, will keep you alive. My question was more if the virus itself has progressed to the point that you won't die any earlier than you normally would, even without drugs. Twenty years ago, almost to the day, I predicted that H.I.V. would reach the point that it no longer causes A.I.D.S., regardless of what medicine the infected person takes or doesn't take. People thought I was completely off my rocker when I said that. I am trying to see if my prediction has come true yet, or if it will be a few more decades.

More than likely yes. Because you more than likely would have gotten it through gay sex or IV drug use. You would also more than likely use illicit substances and lived a lifestyle that further weakend your immune system. This combination would lead to you ultimately succumbing to one of the opportune infections. But... Merenguero who is a heterosexual playboy and only practices insertive vaginal intercourse somehow manages to overcome all odds and get infected this way. He also lives a healthy lifestyle with large amounts of fruits and vegetables, exercise religiously and moderates alcohol use. I would think that while eventually it would cause the definitive measures to call it AIDS (CD4 count and opportune infection) my money would be that Merenguero has about the same odds to die by being shot by a jealous Hugh Hefner while escaping from a bedroom window after banging his entire harem.

Do you know me personally? Jesus.
I do eat a lot of fruits during certain periods, but I prefer just to stick to salmon, steak, grilled chicken, vegetables, and no snacks of any kind. That's when I'm in the best shape and feel the best.

There was a report earlier this year that researchers had found a strain of HIV that's actually more virulent
EDIT There are multiple HIV group types and sub-types so I suppose some of them could have also evolved to be less "aggressive". But that would seem to go against normal selective evolutionary pressures...but again not my area of expertise

u mentioned pregnant women would almost all test positive for HIV. I have a very interesting story. When I was in Davao, Philippines, I met this nurse working in a public hospital there. She told me that I should be careful in Davao because HIV rates are supposed to be highest in Philippines there and that I should always use condom. She told me that at her hospital, one time they did random HIV test for 10 pregnant girls, and 8 of then tested positive.
8 out of 10 random pregnant women?
Are you sure she wasn't exaggerating to make her story more interesting? I don't know much about Philippines but that seems unbelievable.
Depends on what kind of tests are used it's possible to get those results. Actually if you tested the entire population of a country you would be surprised how many positives you get - cancer patients, patients on high dosage of anti-biotics or meds, hemophiliacs, pregnant women, generally sick people who take a lot of drugs.
The first tests they designed were so stringent that 100% of all tested were positive. So what they did was dial down the sensitivity in order to not trigger everyone.
And yes - HIV is a harmless or possibly beneficial retro-virus as I posted the links above. It could be even an anti-cancer virus as there were tests done by which the HIV virus was used to cure people of cancer.
But hey - who trusts 3 nobel price laureates and mutliple highly decorated MDs? They must be all cooks and have gotten crazy, right? Also you should not trust your mind after examining all the data.
I rest my case on that point - I posted sufficient info above and anyone interested can look into it. Afterwards you decide which version is more likely. In our world it pays to second-guess things or you are getting fucked raw without lube, while the ones doing the fucking are just having a laugh as you die within 5 years of AZT or within 10-25 with an AZT derivative.

Merenguero, there is a good clear description on this website of the stages of HIV progression if untreated:
https://www.aids.gov/hiv-aids-basics/jus...es-of-hiv/
Basically, the virus, if untreated, proceeds in 3 stages:
1. Acute infection. This starts 2-4 weeks after initial infection, and involves a lot of flu-like symptoms. At this stage the virus is being produced in very high quantities (and the patient is highly infectious) while the immune system is fighting the virus.
2. Latency. Eventually the immune system (temporarily) prevails, and the virus goes into a latent state, during which there are few if any symptoms. This can last for many years (10 years on average).
3. AIDS. If untreated, the latent stage eventually ends and the virus reemerges, causing AIDS. In this case, if untreated, the patient will die of complications typically within a few years.
So the answer to your question is that, yes, if you somehow managed to contract HIV, and for some reason it was never treated, you would eventually develop AIDS and die from it within 10-15 years of infection, on average.
The more important fact, however, is that as a heterosexual white male non-drug user, your odds of contracting HIV are essentially zero, so it should not be high on your list of worries.

It's actually the least of my worries. The only time it has crossed my mind in over ten years was that last year, some girl was suggesting that both she and I get tested for it before we had sex. She must have just been the paranoid type. We ended up having sex right away anyway. What confuses me a bit is that about twenty years ago, I remember reading that stuff that on average AIDS developed about ten to fifteen years after being infected with HIV, so I thought the virus would have progressed since that point, since thirty years ago, H.I.V. was basically a quick death sentence.

The main reason for this is not that the virus itself has changed (although the virus does evolve and it's probably become less lethal over time). It's more that 30 years ago people were diagnosed when they already had AIDS, and there were no effective treatments. So having an AIDS diagnosis (not merely HIV), and absent an effective treatment, this was indeed a quick death sentence (and a very nasty one, as well).
Nowadays people are diagnosed much earlier because HIV tests are everywhere, and there are anti-retroviral treatments that prolong the latent stage essentially forever. So people can pretty much live a normal life span while being HIV positive.
EDIT: However, it's also true that the virus itself has definitely evolved and is milder than it was 30 years ago, as a result of interaction with immune systems and antiretrovirals. But these changes, while significant, have not yet rendered it actually harmless. This quote from a BBC article illustrates the scale of the changes:
Quote:Prof Goulder added: "Twenty years ago the time to Aids was 10 years, but in the last 10 years in Botswana that might have increased to 12.5 years, a sort of incremental change, but in the big picture that is a rapid change.

Ah ha, so a degenerate junkie libertine like Sheen has never taken a dick in the ass or a less than sterile needle in the arm. Seems legit. How quick everyone is, even here of all places, to throw aside their prior wisdom and convictions and jump onto the narrative at a single shady alleged counter-case. I'd say Sheen is likely one of the bisexual bridges of pestilence Roosh warned about.

For the Philippines, I'd be more inclined to believe she had actually mistakenly given them pregnancy tests, and still gotten 20% wrong.

It was too easy to think he just did needle drugs, but then you realize that it is very rare for people to shoot shit up these days, this isn't the 80's or 90's.
Heroin usage has been in steep decline as you get get way better other shit to fuck you up, and then there is always meth...
I casually just assumed Sheen was into hardcore drugs, but it turns out he is just like evrey other HIV case and is a part-time fag.
The the story does a 180 now. So I do believe he came out with the story to fend off women extorting him, that is what women do; but its his own fault living as a feral animal and spraying and preying all around.
At first, and me included, most just brushing this off as a dude who played with to much fire, to much of a bad dude, spending to much time in the gutter with dirty drugs and skanks. He is now just a typical ferral bi-sexual where this type of behavior is the norm in their world.
