I've been paying attention to the prolefeed periodicals at the checkout lanes since this story first broke. So far the general tone of the headlines has been tepidly negative towards Charlie Sheen for his recklessness, or just trumpeting the lurid shock value of it, but I can tell they're holding back to see which way the winds are blowing with their target markets. I'm expecting they'll suddenly shift gears to stories about "poor Charlie" at some point soon, especially if the gay/transwhatever element of the story ends up getting traction - this would fit the pattern of these publications and media generally of ennobling the decadent.

The tumblr and neon haired crowd freakshow is probably really confused right now because while he is 'exploring his sexuality' Sheen also used a ton of prostitutes ('liberated' women is one thing, but full out prostitution is something even the tumblr neons are a bit hesitant to openly support I think) and he used hard drugs, supporting this won't look good for their 'cause'. It probably also doesn't help that the female prostitutes he nailed were not fat, ugly and short haired.

Honestly, while they are likely brainstorming how they can spin this to their advantage the simple fact is I think Charilie Sheen is too fucked up even for them to support. Which should really tell you something.

Good point - may turn out to be one of those celebrity scandals that simply vanishes because the utility in celebrating his decadence is outweighed by the potential damage/backlash over the particulars of what he's allegedly done.

The real toxic "won't look good for their cause" part is the pedo angle. It may be as some have observed that pedophilia is next up for normalization by the Cultural Marxist crowd, but Charlie Sheen (even less so than Jared Fogle) is hardly the poster-boy they're looking for. If they do turn on him as a liability, this may be what the focus turns to while coverage ignores or downplays the gay/trans stuff, which can be presented in contrast as unexceptionable behavior among consenting adults. But even then it would only boost gay/trans normalization at the expense of reinforcing the stigma on pedophilia. So it's either take the short term on a goal already mostly won win while harming efforts towards the next goal, or simply take a pass on this opportunity and consign the story to the memory hole.
