Sounds like a win to me, as long as he's not planning on bringing dozens of extended family members along too. But how many immigrants are actually in that situation? One in a thousand? Less? I actually don't think there's much need to limit that sort of immigration because I just don't think there will be that many people trying to come here permanently who already made it big back home.

To clarify what I've said in the last couple pages, I'm not opposed to all immigration forever. I just think it needs to stop entirely (except for my spouse exception, which would not cover actual mail-order brides) for at least a few years--10, maybe--and when we re-implement it we need to scale it way, way down.

If we've got Wernher Von Braun, Albert Einstein, or Croatian Bill Gates knocking on the door, absolutely, let them in. If it's just another code monkey, golf course groomer, or strawberry picker, hell no. Americans can write code just fine, and schoolkids can pick the fricking strawberries and do the groundskeeping and caddying. Learn some work ethic and make some pocket money, the way kids used to. If strawberries can't be picked economically at minimum wage, well, the buggy whip makers went out of business too. Invent a robot that can do it or something like that, or use the land for something else. Adapt or die. This obsession with maintaining the corporate status quo--as if we're at the pinnacle of civilization and it's all downhill from here, so we need to preserve all business models with either subsidies or barriers and damn the human cost--is absolutely mad.

I think immigrants should be people moving here with the intention to stay and truly assimilate, not coming for this multi-year work visa crap. "Guest worker" programs are bullshit; the whole concept is ridiculous and nothing but a camel's nose in the tent for companies that want to drive down wages, reduce employee freedom, reap some kind of short term profit so a CEO can get a fat bonus, and/or avoid investing in new technology. If you're not coming here with the intention of staying permanently, all you get is a tourist visa. And we need to start tracking the damn visas, especially ones granted to pregnant women, and checking whether the visa holder actually left. We don't do that now, which itself is absolutely fucking insane. Immigration kabuki theater makes the TSA look like a deadly serious operation.

There are a lot of details to suss out, like the birthright citizenship thing, but like I said in my first post on this subject, I don't think any of this really matters. It's all academic. Unless the GOP finds the balls to rein in deficit spending and pull out the roots it grows from, we're going down, baby. Just a question of when.

America should focus on Northern European immigration only.

La Raza Rebrands as ‘Unidos US’

The National Council of La Raza announced that it will change its name to UnidosUs, AP reports.

President Janet Murguia described “La Raza” as an outdated term that did not resonate with its members. AP exclusively translates “Raza” as “the people” in its report. However, the term can also be interpreted as “the race,” which carries a suggestion of zero-sum ethnic conflict. According to the AP:

AP exclusively translates “Raza” as “the people” in its report. However, the term can also be interpreted as “the race,” which carries a suggestion of zero-sum ethnic conflict. According to the AP:

Quote: Literally translated, “raza” means “race,” but that is not the definition of the word. The term for “the people” was coined to describe the various races Mexican people come from. Chicano civil rights activists popularized it in the 1960s and 1970s and it’s faced backlash today.

The new term translates to “United us,” or “United States United.”

Murguia claimed the name change was not in response to conservative criticism but said it is intended to mobilize the Latino community in response to perceived anti-Latino racism from the administration.

“I think this is viewed as an opportunity and we see it as an opportunity to strengthen our organization, broaden our reach and expand our growth … And that’s going to be important as we see the challenges that we’re facing at this particular time,” she told AP.

http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/...-unidosus/
-------------------------------------

Interesting, La Raza has always been a "Reconquista" group aimed to promote a Chicano advantage over Americans and others Latinos, even many MExicans hate the group. A Mexican Chicano business owner I know hate others Chicanos want him to give them discount just because they are all Chicanos, he says they says, "hey, me puedes dar un descuento a mi? tu sabes, por la raza?" which translate as "hey, can you give me a discount to me? you know, for the race?".

La Raza never cared about others Latinos or Mexicans that don't have a Recoinquista mindset, that was before when they had a constant flow of illegals crossing the border from Mexico. But now the flow is low and they realize they need other Latinos to keep their numbers. The part that reads "broaden our reach and expand our growth" is that they know the term La Raza is very specific. A Colombian, Venezuelan, Dominican or Chilean does not identify with the group or the term, and they know.

And the other part is, the kids born in the USA whose parents are Latinos have not big connection with any of the goals of the group, they many times do not even speak Spanish at all.

Which is the same reason Univision had to create Fusion to appeals to younger audience that does not consume Spanish media in Latino households.

MMX2010 · 2017-07-16 02:31:00 · #67299

Holy crap.

Let me weave together four different threads from four different people. The first three people provide backstory that makes Adam Gingrich's, podcast much easier to understand.

Scott Adams was excellent here.

First, he speculated that if Russia was alerting the United States of a problem with their election system, it would still be considered tampering. He wasn't saying this is what happened, but he is saying that the information offered could've been for the benefit of the country, especially because it came from an acquaintance.

Second, he stated that if he were Donald Trump, Junior, he would've taken the meeting with the Russians. (He wouldn't have immediately gone to the FBI, as many idiots have suggested, because the meeting was being set by a acquaintance (Fat Ass Goldstone), so reporting immediately to the FBI means you get a friend-of-a-friend in trouble, without knowing what the information was.)

Third, he said you take the meeting, expecting to waste your time because most meetings are a waste of time. If anything illegal happens, you tell the FBI. If nothing important happens, you say nothing. And if you get something great out of it, you use it.

------

Second, Mike Cernovich had an electric Periscope after the Donald Trump, Junior, and Sean Hannity interview.

Junior, handles the press better than his father, and gave Hannity an exclusive interview during which they spent the first fifteen minutes bashing the media.

Summary quoting, "Junior provided the blueprint for how to handle these hit pieces. You don't apologize, and you accuse the opposition of ten bad things for every one bad thing you're accused of."

------

Third, Vox Day beautifully explained the Democrat's game.

Summary quoting, "Donald Trump, Junior, was never the target. Forget about the fact that Junior was a private citizen and broke no laws. Remember, instead, how SJWs argue: they try to get you to say something ugly or bigoted, then they appeal to an amenable authority, and then you get banned (or fired, or put in jail, and so on). The purpose of targeting Junior was to get President Trump to blow up."

------

Back to Gingrich.

The biggest results of the Donald Trump, Junior, meeting fiasco are (1) No one is fucking with Junior anymore, because he really did handle it like a boss, and (2) Mueller and House Intel Committee member, Chuck Grassley, are both investigating everyone attached to that meeting, mostly to see who set it up.

The biggest fish being investigated is John McCain, and two of his staffers have lawyered up. But the biggest news is that Adam Gingrich spoke to three neurologists, who stated that John McCain had a five centimeter hole drilled into the side of his head to remove some brain matter that was probably a tumor. Not an aneurysm. Not a stroke. Important: Adam is disputing the media narrative that it was just a blood clot removed from his eye, which was discovered via a routine physical.

Quoting directly, "I asked the neurologist, 'Could such a thing create behavioral changes?', and the neurologist said, 'Absolutely. Confusion, and other erratic behavior.''

The largest political result is that health care isn't going to be voted on until McCain recovers. But Adam doesn't think it's going to pass, and he doesn't want it to pass.

-------

Because Donald Trump, Junior, did so well against the New York Times hit piece, the media is focusing on Jared Kushner. Mueller is investigating 18 different contracts between Kushner and Russians. Not confirmed Russian agents, just Russians. Because there are so many contacts, the media is overblowing their importance.

Kushner has lawyered up, and is probably not going to be speaking publicly for quite a while.

As long as President Trump doesn't put himself in trouble defending Kushner, then Trump will be fine.

--------

Lastly, Adam thinks Mueller is trying to nail one person from both sides.

On the Republican side, the most vulnerable guy is Paul Manafort - which I don't think is a big deal at all. Hopefully, Manafort can accept whatever punishment happens without making anything worse for president Trump.

On the Democrat side, it's probably Comey, which can spiral into much worse things. We'll see.

Back to the amazing and funny discussion of Baron Trump's Under The Earth Adventures.

This is the problem for older generations, at least part of the millennial get it, but gen x and boomers will have it harder.

When young people are told something is forbidden, ho boy, do they love it doing it.

Big mistake done by Gen x and Boomers, they were thinking the next generation will preserve the same ideology and dogma they implemented. Not understanding just like they saw the society of the 50s as totalitarian they had to revel against, Gen Z see them just the same.

Gen X and boomers are now in the same position a housewife from the 50s was when kids started listening to Rock N Roll.

What's always worked for me when dealing with younger kids is not "Don't do that" but "No one does that." Social shame is way more powerful.

^Yeah, I normally don't click on many of those twitter feeds but I did with that one I can barely breathe now.

I've heard smart black women talk and she aint it. I'm guessing these kids are five times smarter than her but the disrespect she gets is "because dey all raaaaycisss".

Typical SJW drone response. No inner reflection on what caused a whole classroom to snap, against all cultural programming and statistical likelihood. No question in her mind that maybe it's her personality or her credibility that these kids despise and that they're just pushing her buttons the best way they know how.
