So, with all the drama, Globalman's post sort of got lost in the static (and this one might too apparently).

I'd been thinking "why nuclear waste?". It was only this morning that I had a lightbulb moment regarding such a move (and I'll apologise in advance if it's already been noted).

Making nuclear waste storage part and parcel of the wall has two massively important facets that would skate under most people's radars.

1) It would add notably to the cost of building it, but it would make the cost of unbuilding it astronomically higher.

2) It would mean that The Wall™ would be governed by all international wartime treaties relating to the target classifications of nuclear materials. Or in other words, nobody in the world could shell it or bomb it or so much as shoot a pistol at it without instantly committing a level 1trillion war crime.

But would the radiation kill anyone trying to sneak past...?

Cause we want nuclear waste just spread around 3200 km long border, what could possibly go wrong.

One week ban for bringing out private drama in unrelated thread.

I pretty much avoided this thread the past week or so. Partly due to work and partly due to the fact I figured things would work themselves out.

A lot of people here will forget the 9 out of 10 things amazing things Trump did that week and then obsess about the 1 thing that LOOKS bad initially. Then it works out, like it does most of the time since Trump has a good grip on what hes doing. Then we repeat this cycle in a couple weeks.

This cycle has been going on for about a year now, I would have thought people are used to it by now. I'm a pretty sceptical person but I'm not constantly looking for reasons to think Trump is betraying us. Might want to step back a bit and think why you always assume the worst. Especially when you know he likes to ab test.

I don't see how anyone can complain about what Trump has been doing since the missile strike. Yeah, it looked like things weren't going in the right direction for a while - no denying that. But he has since dropped a MOAB in Afghanistan which sent a message to the Chinese (who are now on our side vs DPRK, unprecedented) and the North Koreans that our president is uninterested in playing around. We avoided Cuban Missile Crisis 2017 version using diplomatic means with China, who responded by pressuring the DPRK to dial it back.

These are YUGE foreign policy wins for Trump.

My main concern right now is the battle between globalists and nationalists inside the White House, and it seems Bannon is losing that battle - but I'm not going to get all worked up about things that haven't happened yet.

Switch to 5-year view. Notice since 2014 China has used big currency devaluations represented by the big vertical lines going up?

Now, notice how since Jan 21st, there are no more vertical lines? It's because China has been very careful not to fuck with their currency since Trump took office.

However, this has worked out for China because the dollar has been having a massive rally fueled by Trump's confidence. So China's currency has been weakened naturally and no need for artifical devaluations have arisen. Additionally, China is happy not to get crushed on trade by throwing North Korea under the bus.

Still, Trump has put China in a tight spot. They have basically agreed that as long as there aren't more artificial devaluations, Trump will not punish them as currency manipulators. What China does not realize is that due to the high amount of exports and value they bring to the world, it's only a matter of time before their currency rises in value again.

China will be tempted to devalue, but now they know Trump is watching. Are they willing to test Trump?
