There's a thing the gun guys here would know about called the OODA loop. It stands of Observe, Orient, Decide, Act. From there it resets. Gaining the initiative over your opponent is about interrupting their OODA loop. They Observe, Orient and Decide but you do something unexpected which renders their Action meaningless.
It's the strategic equivalent of bringing down a larger, slower fighter with a barrage of blows that they can never seem to recover from and retaliate against in time.
Trump has largely kept the media entirely corralled in the Orient phase of that loop. By they time they've Decided on a counter narrative he's already on to something else.

The good thing about being a different kind of candidate running a different kind of political campaign is this: you can do different kinds of things when it comes to debates. You do not have to do what the moderator wants you to do, but instead what the American people need and want to hear.
The most important thing for Donald Trump to remember is this: The American people are not tuning in to watch a debate. They are tuning in to watch an audition. There are three things Donald Trump can talk to the American people about.
First, corruption. Donald Trump can say, “Hillary, I’ll take it at your word that when you and your husband left the Oval Office, you were – as you put it – “broke.” I want to know, the American people should know, how it is that you and your husband have since earned over $230 million? Since you left graduate school, the two of you have either been running for office or been in office. The media doesn’t seem interested in the question. But the American people deserve an answer. Too many of our public servants are getting rich trading on their political connections. It’s not just you, Hillary. Let’s take Senator Tom Daschle and Senator Trent Lott – who spent their entire lives in Congress. They are now rich men. I could go on and on. The American people are tired of their public servants coming to Washington penniless, and leave office and become multimillionaires. It isn’t just wrong. It’s offensive. That’s what’s bugging the American people. That’s why so many of the people are angry. Because our government isn’t working for us. We’re working for our government. And so I ask – Hillary – you and your husband have earned $230 million in the past 15 years. What did you risk? What did you build? How many jobs did you create?”
Second, change. Donald Trump can say, "Americans believe this country is headed in the wrong direction. They are working harder than ever. Many haven’t seen a pay raise in a decade. Many have seen their pay go down. And others still – record numbers - are out of the workforce entirely. And there’s a reason. Taxes and regulations continue to pile up on American businesses, and small businesses in particular. The government is sucking the life out of American life – and America’s paychecks. The global economy you and your husband love, the trade deals you and your husband supported, they have worked for some people in this country. But those deals are not working for most of the people. That’s what this election is all about. The economy is working for the financial and global elites – but not for the rest of America. Not for the hard working tax payers of this country.”
Third, the War on Reality. Donald Trump can say, "I want to talk about something more Americans are feeling every day. That President Obama and Hillary Clinton – and the media doing the reporting – do not live in the world the rest of us live in. They keep telling us the economy is good. But the American people know that’s wrong. Millions of hard working Americans haven’t seen a pay raise in years. Seniors are suffering, as their savings and a lifetime of planning have been battered by the 0% interest policy of the Federal Reserve. Some are being forced to sell off assets just to survive. Young people are graduating college with record levels of debt, and bleak job prospects. African Americans are suffering too, with unemployment levels that are simply unacceptable. Rather than declare war on this economic stagnation, President Obama and Hillary Clinton - and our media elites – have declared war on reality itself. We have real problems, the biggest being the threat within our country we must stop: the never ending expansion of the bureaucratic state. As our government gets bigger, as taxes and regulations pile up, our economy gets smaller. So do our paychecks. And our dreams. The next President needs to understand these things. Because you can’t lead a people if you don’t listen to them. If you don’t understand them.”
Last, Donald Trump needs to tell the American people who he is, and why he’s running. How he will grow jobs in America. How he has created jobs all over America. How taking risks – and not government – is what creates jobs.
He should talk about the kind of people he works with every day. Hard working people of every race, age, ethnicity and sexual orientation all over the country working in jobs that he created. Electricians, plumbers, carpenters, and contractors. He spent his life building things, and watched the country he loves lose its way. He watched government bureaucracies make it harder for people to build things, to grow their businesses.
Donald Trump needs to tell the people that we need more private citizens to serve this country who build things. We need more builders of things, more small business owners, more chief executives, more physicians, and fewer lawyers. Fewer lawyers – and Hillary and Bill are both lawyers - who come to Washington only to leave and become richer because of their service. Hilary has never had to worry about making payroll every week the way job creators do.
We need public servants who come to Washington serve their country, not themselves. We need public servants with the courage to shake things up, and disrupt the status quo, if needed. To solve problems. And then return to their old lives.
That’s a story the American people need to hear. That’s a story many Americans will love.

Polling update on the eve of the big debate:
-Economist/YouGov shows Clinton +3 with a D+9 sample
-ABC News/Washington Post has Clinton +2 and while I can't find the methodology for this version, I'm assuming it's similar to the last run (D+10)
-Gravis polling has Trump +4 in Colorado and only +1 in Ohio. His big CO lead seems due to Jill Stein getting 6% there vs. 1, 2 or 3% in most other polling. This probably isn't the greatest poll but hey, +4 in CO, I had to mention it
-CNN polls showing Trump performing more favourable in four-way polling than a straight head-to-head: in PA, Clinton +1 in 4-way (vs. +3 in H2H) and in Colorado, TRUMP +1 (vs. Clinton +2 in head-to-head polling). Colorado legitimately in play, boys.
-LA Times still at Trump +4, very nice
-Bloomberg: Clinton and Trump tied in head-to-head matchup, Trump +2 in four-way polling with a much more reasonable - though probably still off - D+4 sampling

You don't spend every last minute cramming for a debate. Like a pro fight, you need to be as relaxed as possible, stretch, stay loose and warm, etc. 98% of all of the work was done in training camp. Anxiety is a motherfucker. Gotta keep the nerves down, so when the fight starts, you don't do anything stupid and you stay settled down.
In Trump's case all of those stump speeches around the country was his training camp. He did them at a volume Obama did back in 2008, maybe slightly more. That was the practice. His camp, hopefully had him doing dry runs for debates a while back. Perhaps doing a select group of questions at a time and maybe use a few on the road at the next event.
Cramming in general is just terrible practice. My semester GPA in college went up at least 2 points when I figured out that I should stop cramming and spend the last 48 hours relaxing or doing other things.

In political science, if you study or work in presidential elections, they teach you to never ignore a swing state. More specifically, never ignore Iowa, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Florida. Even if the internal sampling looks bad, you never ignore them. The reasoning why is because the people who live in these states pride themselves on being a gatekeeper for any given election or primary. It makes them feel powerful despite being a small state. It emboldens them and makes them feel as if they control who is elected no matter what. All elections begin in Iowa. If you lose that state in the primary, your chances for winning nomination is ridiculously low odds wise. The Clintons had to take Obama more seriously because he won Iowa and that stunned the whole party back then.
Voters in most of these states like to flip their votes casually and many have voted for just as many Democrats as Republicans in their lifetimes.
If they think Ohio isn't worth it now, a month from now they will regret that.

No doubt AIPAC is the most powerful lobby in the US. It's hard to win here without pissing them off and damn near the entire east coast of the country. Obama was gunning after them hard in his stump speeches back in 2008, then flipped before nomination. They rewarded him greatly.
Let's see what Trump does. At this point we are going to have to wait and see what any future president does with Israel and AIPAC, not what they say to them in public. Trump is a New Yorker. He knows all about this game with them. This is one issue you kinda have to be PC about. Where he can make good on it is when they stick their hands out for nukes, money, planes, etc. and he says no and sticks to his budget guns.
No doubt he knows they will spit at him publicly if he even he gives them a little bit of something, instead of nothing. He will have to do some things for them because they are a firewall/buffer for us in the Middle East. We cannot abandon them completely, otherwise the Muslims will wreck them over time. It's also part of that little strategy game of inching nuclear/strike presence over the world. Even though our technology is better than back then, something is always better than nothing.
Our current political climate offers little flexibility with this. For now at least...after 4 years, he might be able to change the culture, and still be able to win re-election. That will allow the next candidates to take the same harder line with Israel.

Honestly if Black officers are patrolling Black hoods, or Latino officers patrolling Latino hoods, stop and frisk loses its racism charges.
It's still in violation of the 4th amendment, however. But that's what happens once a neighborhood has degenerated into a war zone, things like constitutional rights go out the window in order to restore law and order.
I think a limited time of stop and frisk may be necessary for areas plagued with violence. A strict 3-5 year window to restore law and order, no different than any other declaration of war.

Machado’s then boyfriend, Juan Rodriguez Reggeti, was accused of shooting his brother-in-law Francisco Sbert Moukso at his wife’s funeral- who was the accused man’s sister.
It was claimed Reggeti believed Sbert had driven his sister to suicide and he took revenge, the Associated Press said.
Rodriguez was eight months pregnant when she jumped to her death off a fifth-floor balcony.
It’s alleged that witnesses saw the beauty queen drive her boyfriend away from the scene of the crime, and that her boyfriend had snatched his dead sister’s 11-month-old son as well.
When asked about her past yesterday, Machado told a US TV journalist: "“You know, I have my past. Of course, everybody has a past.
"I’m not a saint girl. But that is not the point now.”

In a now infamous 2005 episode of 'La Granja,' Alicia apparently had sex in front of the cameras with Spanish TV host Fernando Acaso.
Machado was engaged to Philadelphia Phillies baseball star Bobby Abreu at the time.
He quickly called off the wedding after clips of the show appeared online.
The broadcast showed Acaso on top of her, with Machado whispering in Spanish about his manhood.
"Oh your d***, my love, what a tasty d***! Your d*** is divine,'" she moans while they romp.
Later during the broadcast replay, the show's host read aloud what Machado had written about the man.
"Really, that guy is cute, he loves me, he understands me, he accepts me, he protects me, he supports me, he respects me,' read her testimonial.
"He treats me like a goddess, he f***s me like a b****!"
Machado told TV channel Univision when she returned to Miami that despite the scandal she "felt fine as a person, as a human being.
"It was a very strong experience, very difficult in all senses, and I feel very happy with the events in Spain. I had people's support once more and I gained respect for what I am as a person and that was the purpose.'
"When you do a reality show, it's just that – a show of reality."
