^ Very hard to get rid of unionized employees. It's probably hard to get rid of non-unionized senior gov't employees too, given likely huge golden parachutes in their contracts (Western gov'ts are terrible at safeguarding the taxpayer dollar against these). But even paying all the severance would be worth it.

Also, there are a lot of lawyers in the US who owe Trump favours. Litigation is his hobby, and he has obviously hired some very skilled lawyers given his win-loss record (he takes the ones he can win to trial and settles the ones he might lose). Some lawyers have made millions off of him. I suspect if he asked them to come take a gov't salary to serve in his administration to help fight these battles, many would do so.

The rot has to be cleaned out.

Many of Obama's political appointees are liberals. However, most of the rank and file are simply a cross-section of the local community. Remember, military veterans get priority when applying to federal jobs, so they make up a large percentage of the federal workforce at the lower and middle levels.

The government employee situation is so fucking retarded. I hear about things like garbage handler strikes, and streets overflowing with garbage because nobody is picking it up, and it makes me want to go to town hall with a fucking flamethrower. Even if it's impossible or extremely difficult to get rid of bad federal employees I'd be perfectly fine with Trump telling the entrenched shitbirds to rake sand and police the grounds for the rest of their contracts, then hiring a whole new staff to do the job. But no doubt that's not allowed, either due to personnel restrictions, budgetary restrictions, or both.

That's why I applauded when that gubmint employee was arrested in Kentucky for not processing gay marriages. Liberals set a precedent for bearing down on gubmint employees who don't follow the law. This will help Mr president Trump. So for example, when President Trump does away with sanctuary cities and has to arrest a mayor who won't comply, and the press screams "fascism!!!" we can point out the same press members applauding Kim Davis' arrest.
