August/early September

For example, if a nominee had dropped out in late August, his or her name would already have been certified to appear as their party's candidate for president in about 20 states. If he or she dropped out in late September, that number rises to almost 40 states.

Late September
Replacing a candidate's name in late September could prove challenging. The parties would likely have to look to the courts. As Politico noted on August 4, 2016, the courts have shown a willingness to work with the parties on the issue of deadlines: "Courts have tended to discard ballot deadlines in favor of having two parties represented on the ballot.”[11] In 2002, for instance, the New Jersey Supreme Court allowed Democrats to replace their nominee for a U.S. Senate seat 15 days after the certification deadline.[12] In addition to this, election officials in the states have been known to show some leeway on the deadlines. Richard Winger, an expert on ballot access laws, told Ballotpedia by email, “even when major parties have missed deadlines for certifying presidential and vice-presidential nominees, or presidential elector candidates, election officials have always set the deadline aside.”[13]

The other factor to consider, however, is whether or not the opposing party would file lawsuits seeking to enforce state laws as they are written and prevent a replacement nominee from appearing on the ballot. This would consume a considerable amount time, energy, and resource for both parties but would likely exacerbate the struggles of the party trying to get its replacement nominee on the ballot.

October/early November
In October, especially later in the month, and in early November (before November 8) the situation becomes significantly more complicated. At this point, nearly all ballot certification deadlines have passed, many ballots have been printed off, and voters in some states will have already cast their ballots. This begs the question: what happens if a candidate has dropped out of the race but wins the popular vote in a state? Would the replacement nominee just receive those electoral votes? The answer lies in what that state has to say about its electors in the electoral college. The Constitution does dictate how electors must cast their votes. But some states do. More than half the states have laws dictating how electors must vote. If the former nominee won in a state that does not have a law on how its electors vote, then, theoretically, they could win all of that state's electoral votes. But if the former nominee won in a state that does have a law on how its electors vote, then, one would have to look at that law's fine print to see what would happen and if the state's electoral votes could go to the replacement nominee.

So from this it seems like if they decide on a replacement in 2-3 weeks and get the process started on replacing the names on the ballots the same day, it would be a tough task. Lets say that on October 1st (a little over 2 weeks from now) they were to replace Hillary as the nominee. It would be very difficult to get things switched and set up for a new candidate in every state. The logistical and legal problems would not be easy to overcome in a rapid amount of time, as most of the state deadlines would have passed already, and the Republicans at the state level could probably stall and prevent things from happening in time in enough states that it would be close to impossible to win. If even a couple blue or purple states don't get the new Democrat candidate cleared to be on the ballot or have any issues at all with it, it becomes very tough for them to win even if everything else in the switch goes as well as possible. If the whole nationwide electorate knows the new Democrat candidate is not on the ballot in a few states as well, the Democrat voters everywhere will be extremely demoralized and I don't see any way they could win. Turnout would be terrible. They would need to absolutely vote like crazy in every state that they were eligible and probably have to turn red states blue. Given how they are already low-energy this year, the odds of that are basically zero and they still have to contend with naturally high-energy Trump supporters. Unless Hillary is swapped out within the next week, it would be pretty tough to pull it off. If it is in October they are pretty much fucked (great for us though!).

This is a complicated topic, however, so if anyone has more information then I'd love to see it.

My worry is that someone like Biden or Bernie, who are less unlikable and knowingly corrupt than Hillary, would suck up a lot of the #NeverHillary and "both candidates suck" votes.

Many liberals, conservatives, and independents fall in either of those two camps.

I'm very confident Trump will beat Hillary, but a lot of that rides on the fact that people hate her. I've always thought she was the much better matchup than Bernie for this same reason. Trump vs. Bernie is more of a fact based, ideological battle, and I don't trust the American people to pick Trump over Communist "Free Stuff for Everyone" Sanders.

That being said, I think Bernie would possibly lose the neocon vote that is pushing for Hillary. But he also seems like less of a maverick and easier to control by the establishment, so who knows.

The infamous Carl The Cuck slayer did some great street interviews. That black guy actually knew the seizure video, that surprised me. I also didn't expect a lot of them to be so open about their support of Trump.

It would be the same situation for any replacement, including Bernie, because he was only on the primary ballots and not the general election ones. Regardless, if they want to switch to a replacement they need to do it fast. At this point, each day they don't make a switch makes it harder and harder to do so. If they did something in October it would be close to impossible to get back on every single state's ballot. Making a switch just from a campaign standpoint is not an easy task either. Remember that Hillary's campaign has 700-800 people working for it and everything for the past several years at the DNC has been geared up for her candidacy. Doing a last minute swap won't just be as easy as taking out JUST Hillary and inserting JUST Biden, Bernie, or whoever. It would probably take a little while to even get the rebooted campaign settled and make the other necessary adjustments before making the official switch. It's a tough task, so they will probably just stick with Hillary is what I'm thinking. Either way, its not an easy place to be for the DNC, especially if Hillary faints again before the vote.

It's astonishing how badly the alt-right has shaken the left. Milo, Cernovich, PJW, and their legion of green nazi frogs under Obergruppenführer Harambe have them in hysterics by simply making a bunch of tweets, youtube videos, and silly jpgs.

Yeah I saw a few MSM outlets shitting themselves over the fact Don Jr. shared a WHITE SUPREMACIST symbol on his instagram. Then they showed the pic and I was genuinely confused. I was seriously looking for someone maybe slipping a white hood onto one of the people, or someone having a swastika armband or something. I checked and double checked looking for this supposed white supremacist symbol and couldn't find it, so I just moved on with my day.

Never even crossed my mind that it was Pepe, the fact that they think Pepe is a WN symbol is hilarious. This election has been a wake up call and all over the world governments are cringing at the knowledge that Americans, not just white people as the media wants us to believe,are pushing head first into internet meme wars, street game battles and are pulling the pants down of anyone they see fit. If there is one thing as a Canadian that I have always envied of American culture, its the way that people walk around head up and are always ready to speak their mind. Its one thing that foreign people always remark about; the confidence of average Americans.

Watching that Infowars video and then watching the media videos about Pepe, man they really have not a clue. We think that the left is scrambling now, well I think that they have been scrambling since the first debates.

The are rushing to put a label on this, but they are too stupid to realize that this movement does not get a label. They are missing the whole point. They need to label Pepe as something, so "white nationalist" it is. While they try and try again to label us, to put us in boxes and divide us, Americans are still doing what they do. BUSINESSES, SMALL AND LARGE, ARE DISPLAYING LARGE, IN YOUR FACE TRUMP SIGNS in areas that have somewhat decent hispanic populations. A lot of consumers come up 28 to do buy things tax free. A fucking equestrian school has a big Trump Sign. People put the 14 in lawn signs inch the back windows of cars.

I mean, when small mom and pop businesses are confident enough to be this brazen, they have it on good confidence that it won't hurt and maybe help their business.

The thing about NH is it isn't a "true blue" state. It votes "issues" more than ideology. Huge heroin epidemic here. The wall implicitly says "Drugs, you have to go". Trump has expressed sympathy and named the problem here. Hillary hasn't really even been to NH much and can't compete on the drug platform.

So combine those factors and the D+8 polls in a state which can't be tamed and you reach your logical conclusion; ALL POLLS ARE LIKE THAT, bullshit.

My sister is 13 months older than me. Her birthday is 9/11. We've never really spoken of 9/11. She doesn't watch the news very often, and she's just never come off as the type with political thoughts. Rather than wish her a happy birthday, I tend to wish her a happy terror day or something equally fucked up. So last night I wished her a happy terror day, and she replied with a pic of the pentagon where it was damaged with a red circle drawn on one area. Inside the red circle was where the sea container for her husband's employer had been. He He had the option to stay there that day or go to another jobsite. 15 minutes before the plane crashed he rolled out. Had he stayed, he would have died. Needless to say, 9/11 had a profound affect on those two. She even said "we can never forget."

Obviously my next question was "forget what radical islamic terrorists did?"
She replied "that's right."
I said "So you're voting for Trump?"
"Yes."

She wasn't enthusiastic about it. She was merely matter of fact. Her husband was a union guy before moving to management, and they're still both pro union. You could say they were both traditional blue collar democrats. And now they're voting for Trump.
