I don't think it would be possible for Kaine to run as president since the ticket would be Pres: Hillary VP: Kaine.

All of the state's deadlines for having a name on a ballot have passed.

Such an event would throw the entire democratic party into complete disarray. We'd probably see the party collapse and coalesce around a different one.

Knowing the Democrats and their Republican allies, if Hillary were to drop out and as you say, Kaine is only the VP and not the POTUS candidate, would it be in their bests interests for the Supreme court and/or Obama to stop or at least slow down the voting process?

The Republicans get their way with Trump and the Dems get a better candidate in.

Who knows. There hasn't been any precedent in US history for such an event.

Yeah, I was going to ask, what is the protocol for if a candidate gets nominated but then either falls into a coma or dies before the election?

There is no time to find another candidate, a candidate has to get a certain number of signatures and whatnot. The whole reason why we have a primary process is so that a candidate can travel around to all of the states and talk to the voters and get to know them, the voters get to know the candidate.

My assumption: the Clinton/Kaine ballot is locked in for November 2016, what would happen if Hillary dies or goes into a coma, is that Kaine would continue campaigning and either name a VP or at least say who his VP will be if Hillary dies, and people could either vote for "Clinton/Kaine" on the ticket, or someone else. If Clinton/Kaine wins, then Kaine would be the president if Hillary is too sick or actually dies before she can take office.

Americas first Anti-American exceptionalism President Praises Anti American Pro BLM domestic terrorists sentiment... he should just stay in China where he does less damage to the USA.

http://nypost.com/2016/09/05/obama-defen...m-protest/

President Obama on Monday defended San Francisco 49ers backup quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s decision not to stand during the playing of the national anthem.

“[H]e’s following his constitutional right to make a statement,” Obama said at a press conference in Hangzhou, China, responding to a question about the quarterback. “I think there’s a long history of sports figures doing so.”

The president added, “I don’t doubt his sincerity. I think he cares about some real, legitimate issues that have to be talked about. And if nothing else, he’s generated some conversation around some topics that need to be talked about it.”

Kaepernick has refused to stand for the pre-game playing of the national anthem, citing racial injustice and the oppression of minorities in America.

At Monday’s press conference, Obama reiterated his call for an “active citizenry” and praised the 28-year-old professional athlete for speaking out: “I would rather have young people who are engaged in the argument and trying to think through how they can be part of our democratic process than people who are just sitting on the sidelines and not paying attention at all.”

Obama didn’t encourage standing for the playing of the national anthem, but signaled that others might not respect Kaepernick’s move.

“I think there’s a lot of ways you can do it. As a general matter when it comes to the flag and the national anthem and the meaning that it holds for our men and women in uniform and those who fought for us, that is a tough thing for them to get past, to then hear what his deeper concerns are,” he said.

But the president said: “Maybe some of his critics will start seeing he has a point around certain concerns around justice and equality.”

Quote:If Candidate Dies Before Election Day

If a candidate died after receiving their party's presidential nomination (hasn't happened yet, though 1 VP has died & in 1972 Tom Eagleton, McGovern's Vice President pick, famously withdrew post-nomination due to his mental health history surfacing), their party would hold an emergency committee meeting for delegates to vote for a new nominee, at that point it's whoever the party thinks has the best chance at still winning the election, whether it's the runner-up from the primaries or somebody who wasn't even previously running for president, and that person requires a majority vote from the national committee in order to receive the nomination.

If Candidate Dies Between Election Day & Electoral College Vote

As far as the Electoral College goes (this would come into play if the candidate died between election day and the Electoral College vote in early to mid December), federal law says the electors are free to vote for whoever they like. States could have differing rules about who they are to vote for, however.

If Candidate [President] Dies Right After Electoral College Vote

Should the death occur after the Electoral College ballot such that there is, in fact, a President-elect and Vice POTUS-elect, Vice POTUS-elect would become President.

Bonus live MSNBC coverage of the coughing fit. That one is even better because it plays like a comedic skit, with the news anchor intro-ing her and then Clinton coughing, and then the anchor coming back in to try and cover it up by re-introing her, and she still can't keep it together...priceless.

It was so bad that he couldn't even BS it at the end, and had to address it immediately.

Gonna tune in to the 6 o'clock news to see how the media tries to spin it. Only shame is that it didn't happen during the debate. It still might. She'll go back into hibernation after this undoubtedly.

Edit: Extra laughs for the word STRONGER on the podium, underlying the whole thing with some irony.

I like the mission statement of the Alt-Right, as well as our strategy of being either intellectually philosophical or trollingly demoralizing depending on who we're taking to. The only downside is that Mr. Trump can't officially endorse our demoralizing tactics.

We are his secret shock troops.

I have been watching news videos about the Alt-Right, one common theme you see in the people on the left and journalist is, they point out how tech savy and smart the Alt-Right is, how they are winning the cultural war, even Time Magazine had a cover about it:

[Image: troll-cover.jpg?quality=75&strip...;amp;w=814]

The left is used to deal people on the right who only listen to radio, and maybe some hours of Fox News, not people with knowledge to track Hillary's handler identity to the point to force her to disappear him, or knowing what a meme is, the left has never deal with the other side in the same battlefield, they have dominated online since always, they simple do not know what to do with people who outperform them at what they believe to good.

A person like Milo or Lauren Southern hit the left in America in different ways the left did not expect, both are young, Milo is gay European and Southern is Canadian, we all know how the left price Europe and Canada as epitome f hat America should be, having people from these countries and supporting Trump, gun rights etc.

I've always thought that the biggest reason why the left has been so successful with the cultural war and resonates so much with millennials isn't with the much maligned "leftist Marxist college professors" but because of people like Stephen Colbert and John Stewart as well as other "cool" celebs, cultural figures, and media. I'm sure Colbert has done more to turn the country left then all of the gender studies classes in colleges. The very reason why now see a bit of a resurgence of right wing ideas (though of course very different from the neo-con Moral Majority conservativism of the 80s and 90s) is now the right finally has figures like Milo and Gavin. For the first time in forever, right wingers are in the position of being the scrappy, rebellious counter-culture street fighters, a position that the left has traditionally occupied and which has allowed them to control the minds of the young.

There is one aspect of young people that republicans were not addressing, young people like to be rebellious, they like the feeling of revolution and fighting against the empire, young republicans simple did not have anything to hold them up, imagine a republican teen in high school on Monday after John Oliver snarky episode, every comedy politician talk show is a way for liberals to claim "common sense", we ll know how liberals say "republicans are not funny because comedy is about telling the true", like if republicans can get a right wing show on mayor network.

Samantha Bee, Noah, and all those people can portray themselves as edge and outrageous because there was not equivalent on the other side, this is why is so hard for young republicans to fight a cultural war, when everyone you know in college is sharing Trevor Noah new segment where he "school" stupid right wings on Facebook and you have to simple take it.

Now something new happens, it could be said it started with #gamergate and the people whom came with it, Milo became the voice of gamers in short amount of time, he almost alone without knowledge of video game became a voice, the fact he was gay also helped a lot against the left that claim every to own every minority group.

The biggest blow was Trump, he was so unexpected that DNC leaks did not even mention him at all, the republican establishment and the media did not take him seriously but they forgot the fact that the republican base have been waiting for somebody on their side for so long they they are wailing to forgive some aspect of his life and policies (3 wives, abortion).

Then at the same Trump is calling out the media and journalist dishonest in their faces people are talking online, this is the first time for many young republicans they feel like they can stand up and feel proud of being republicans, and he first time for many older republicans in a long time.

Now we have people like Milo, Gavin or Stefan Molyneux, they are now the "extreme" and "outrageous", young see them as edge and rebellious, adding to the fact that young people are consuming more online media while TV is dying.

A gay British guy is able to be embraced by the conservative American party, while a real state Mogul is winning the presidential race by using memes and defeating 16 other candidates.

The so called "edge" people on the like Larry Wilmore are getting cancelled, Noah and Colbert are having horrible ratings, the right is making the left look boring and lame, even if we planned we not make such strategy plays out, this is something out of political novel books.

These young rebels, a subset of the alt-right, aren’t drawn to it because of an intellectual awakening, or because they’re instinctively conservative. Ironically, they’re drawn to the alt-right for the same reason that young Baby Boomers were drawn to the New Left in the 1960s: because it promises fun, transgression, and a challenge to social norms they just don’t understand.

Disagree. The reason the left has been so successful in the culture war is that they have used unconventional warfare aka fighting dirty, while the right has maintained the "high ground". The right has fallen for it hook, line, and sinker but with the rise of the alt-right (and all its iterations), fire is being fought with fire. Its akin to conventional maneuver units (cuckservatives) fighting a guerrilla force (transnational socialists, aka tranzies) and losing until special forces (alt-right) starts giving them the business in their sanctuaries.

Edit: Added quote tree to maintain context.

I found it funny when Michelle Obama said during the the convention, "when they go low we go high".

The left fight with the most dirty and immoral ways they can find.

It's a yin-yang sort of thing.

Priests back up husbands by influencing women (celibacy assures them a fatherly role,) cardinals back up statesmen by sanctifying their activities, the Pope backs up the Emperor by legitimising his authority.

The church is, in a sense, the wife of the state, and helps keep its house in order with its gentle, feminine influence.

Honestly the Catholic leadership is hopelessly corrupt and has been since the 1960's. The Catholic Church has had very evil Popes over the course of its lifetime, but with the advent of mass communication now the Pope has become truly damaging and a poor representation of Christianity.

We'd be better off without Catholic leadership at this point.
