They really messed up the casting when Leslie Jones could have played Slimer!

In regards to some of the comments made about fat female comedians not being funny.

We recently attended a local comedy fest where I'm from. After a decent weekend with plenty of entertainers, some good and some not so much, my wife remarked that "I've never realized it before, but most of the women comedians aren't that funny....".

Somebody up there must like me. How else do you explain having a girl like that?
CynicalContrarian 路 2016-07-27 09:23:00 路 #783
There's a couple of blurry copies floating around (pun intended).

I've been more entertained in mocking the film (prior to even seeing it), than in actually watching parts of the film (wasn't even compelled to watch the whole thing).

I find it rather ironic that despite being so vocal in the past; with the film being such a dud.
I'm barely compelled to point out just how poorly made & poorly produced this film is...

a few days ago I downloaded a TS version from torrent: the video quality is rather bad but it can only improve the film apparently.

It's on streaming sites, so no risk if you download from there.
I almost watched it.

It's at 128 mio. $ worldwide - might make 180 mio$, so a net loss of 150 - 200 mio. more or less.

It is amazing how strong the brand is - with the right movie it might have been a hit.

I watched it during a train ride - some of it at fast forward.

The direction and the action is more or less fine, but the story and the characters and the feminist memes are just idiotic.

Also it is not funny at all!

I did not laugh once.

The Chris Hemsworth character did not appear to be truly dumb. He is not an actor on Brad Pitt's level or Paul Feig has no idea how a truly dumb person talks or acts. Brad Pitt played some dumb characters and it was believable.

Also this - 3 female scientists crap is moronic to the utmost. They never truly sound credible. The 'zany' lesbian character did only antics the entire movie and one awkward 'emotional' sentence which was so badly done, that it's disgusting.

Of course the movie is utterly anti-male. Most men are either assholes, dumb or gay. The main villain is a personified Omega MRA-meme who is described as 'creepy' every step of the way.

They cut the scene where he takes over the entire New York police and national guard and lets them perform a dance routine. My guess is that the viewers did not like that to be done with New York's finest.

It is truly amazing that the movie grossed 130 mio. $ so far - a fantasy for older women to feel better about themselves - all for the price tag of 250 mio. $.

Studio execs like Amy Pascal should be fired and never heard from again in Hollywood for this crap. They even refer to misogynist online comments right in the movie. It seems that they did recuts of the scenes since some of the trailer scenes do not appear and they probably changed the black one's demeanor a bit. It did not save anything of course - it's all boring bullshit. The movie is rather bland and boring than truly super-bad. And of course the feminist indoctrination is on level 100.

But it seems that some folk don't even notice as was seen with the Youtube couple
before - they somehow could not find the 'feminism' in the movie. Heh - feminism works by destroying men, by making all men appear bad, by showing that women are all better than men, then it works by making the women behave like men, which is another feminist meme etc.

Even semi-aware folk are getting a decent amount of propaganda without realizing that it is there. This is indeed bad - it shows you how far the population is gone mentally. The globalist elite has as good as won.

Another question would be. How much longer will the cinema chains keep airing this film?

Can't really justify empty GB'16 sessions, while Star Trek, kids movies, Bourne & Suicide Squad are in demand.

Don't do it man.
As a man, nothing good or useful can come of it....and you will never get those minutes of your life back.

Exactly - a low res version would be preferable given the best looking one of the three would at maximum be rated a 5. No, I'm not counting the orangutan.

Look guys - we have won this battle already. There's no longer a need to keep tracking the numbers or dissect the situation from multiple perspectives. Sony Pictures was handed a huge public relation train wreck and most likely they have ruined the franchise for a decade or two. Although there is a lot of ass covering and the expected sugar glazing of this turd the message has been received loud and clear.

Hollywood loves to promote liberal propaganda but it loves money even more. And this could have easily been a $1 Billion dollar cash cow. Do you guys really think any non-suicidal producer would risk pouring money into another feminist trash piece like this anytime soon? Their own cushy jobs are on the line after all - this can ruin your career and in Hollywood you usually don't get second chances after something like this.

Of course time will tell but I have an inkling that we'll see a reversion to normalcy here in the coming years.

redpillage - you are right, we have won.

But since a victory from our side is so rare, we like to take the opportunity revel in it for a while.
Who knows when we will get another chance ?
Lets enjoy it for now.

Once it's been in the cinema for ~1 month & it's clearly not generating much revenue.

I'm looking forward to all the mental gymnastics that will either attempt to defend the film.
Advocate for a sequel.
Or sheepishly downplay that a sequel is not financially viable. Banana

Plot twist.

Sony gives the sequel to a red-pill shitlord director. Script goes: Female Ghostbusters step in front of a bus. Become CGI ghosts/villains. Red pill male Ghostbusters step up to take care of business under the tutelage of Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd.

Every RVF member goes to see it fifty times.

My first response was "wow that is going to cost them some money" because any fence sitters either on the election or on the movie could be turned off by that if they don't like Hillary. But in reality they just seem to be acknowledging that the Trump supporters are anti ghostbusters so they are just shouting out to what's left of the Democratic base to see their movie again.

Ghostbusters video game dev didn't survive this feminist pandering. Too bad it'll take a few more of these to sink a ship like Sony.
AntiMediocrity 路 2016-08-03 01:12:00 路 #797
Texas to be fair the GB video game had barely anything to do with the movie. Just a cash in on the name which ended up being a shitty game, no surprise there. (Angry) Joe Vargas did a review on it.

No cuntbusters in sight, males on the team (albeit walking stereotypes, as all the characters were), so it wasn't feminist pandering.

The fact that they charged $50 for what was essentially an Indy game was probably an indication of investing far too much money into it and trying to recoup it, ultimately failing. They must have spent a shit tonne of money using the license alone.

Movie tie-in games are traditionally this sort of crap shovelware dolled up with the movie IP. They always rely on the movie to get kids to ask their parents to buy it for them in a fit of excitement after seeing it. Sadly for the game devs, since the movie did little more than elicit fits of yawning, the video game tanked.

That's how the video game and the movie are tied together, even if the stories are divergent.

Whether it's the Twitter account of Paul Feig or Leslie Jones or other media in general.

Can't say I've seen all that much praising the 'success' of GB'16.
It has now recouped it's production budget after-all.
Yet even that isn't being hailed from the Sony rooftops.

Wonder why...

GhostNutBusters how shall we sing your final praises?

The Money Shot; Sony blowing their load on the man-hating generation of single women and single moms with 9-5 office jobs and pet cats.

A movie that the target audience didn't ask for yet received anyway.

GhostNutBusters: The Unwanted Facial

I somehow start to think that it is all a political decision, that despite the empty cinemas, they continue to push this pathetic feminist propaganda down the throats of the public, and they keep airing this...
