The only good thing about thamrin is the proximity to Grand Indonesia mall. It's a run down shitty building that looks like it might have been pretty luxurious 10 years ago. Unfortunately the only good option in that area is Kempinski which is $4k a month and typically requires a 12 month lease.

Not to mix it up: I didn't talk about any building, I talked about the Thamrin area in general. I booked a condo with Airbnb in some other building, I think it's not as good as this Thamrin building everyone is talking about. I choose this area, because of all the malls next to it, but after the reactions of the girls I'm not sure if I would choose this area again... I don't use Tinder by the way. However, I will find out next week when I'm there. I'm just not comfortable with a sign on my head that says: I'm only here to bang as many local girls as possible! That's because I also wanted to go to some meetups and connect with locals aside from having fun with the girls. Seems like you can't have it all

I wouldn't worry too much. Of all the countless times I've been to Jakarta I honestly cannot ever recall anyone mentioning Thamrin Residence as being known for sex tourists/guys flying in for a weekend bang mission. There seems to be a bit of hysteria about it on this thread tho, but as we've seen some guys like to just plain make shit up

It's more a case of those guys with little 'real life' game who are hopelessly dependent on tinder who all bang the same small subset of B & C grade sluts who do the rounds online. Sure THOSE girls will be very familiar with Thamrin Residence. As well as every other popular airbnb residence and budget hotel in the city.

I prefer my grade "A" online girls over any of the club rats at Basque (which is terrible after multiple times going there), or Immigrant (which I went after they redid the whole place, decent but I match better online). For guys scouting the area, set your location to neighboring Singapore. if you are matching decent clips with Singapore 6's and a occasional 7, the flood gates will open in Jakarta no doubt. FYI, in Jakarta, nothing even close to Orchard Road found in Singapore, so not sure Irish where you would day game here on the dirty streets of Indo. Walking aimlessly around grand indonesia doesn't seem to be my cup of tea, but if you have any suggestions where there is actually any resemblance of fresh air (I'd say a BGC clone), that would appreciated. That being said had a great time with a solid 7 I picked up while doing errands, probably the best interactions I've had in a while, definitely she wouldn't use Tinder, but neither does she go clubbing either.

In all honestly, I think too much of a premium is placed on night game, when the clubbing scene is pretty much a fraction of what it use to be before tinder took off. Now high SMV women can sit at home without getting dressed up, nab their top pick of the liter and go from there. I've spent a total of maybe $50 on alcohol every time I come here, and results have skyrocketed over the one time I stayed at Thamrin and blew $$$ on booze for subpar results.

And quality A girls required to be gamed just as hard, if not harder then a hot bottles girl in the club. They are not gonna swing by your apartment to get banged, most of the time takes a few hours of escalating at a venue before getting the bang. But if you want "A" girls, splurge for a solid five star hotel here. I aint going to let out all the beans here on the public forum, but any US based members can PM me and I'll let them in on the balling secret spot that "A" girls are comfortable to meet up.

Moved to a condo near central park mall, its full of chineese but better air quality. Also the coast near duina fantasy will have better air , however more humid and hot as hell.
I didn't bother clubbing and just did mall dates with online chicks. Met some quality girls in Jakarta , the christian chicks LOVE white dudes.

Thanks for the tip. Google mapped it, yeah looks a bit like BGC with its walking paths. Could have some potential, especially with lots of Chinese Indo . Ultimately for my next long term stop, I decided against Jakarta due to lack of walkable areas, but area looks nice for a bang trip if your not going the 5 star hotel route.

The Jakarta Monument has a big park surrounding it which is nice and fresh. My experience though in Jakarta is that the average girl on the street is so ugly that daygame would be useless. You need tinder or the clubs to find the hotties.

I was recently taking a domestic flight at the airport. I kid you not there was one 7 in the entire terminal wing. Naturally grabbed some coffee with her and exchanged digits but she doesn't live in Jakarta so chances of hanging out are slim.

On my flight there were zero girls I would bang. On my return flight maybe 1-2 girls bangable. Yeah, all the hot girls are online or nightlife. Pick your strength, but neither is particularly easy if you want quality. You gotta have some decent game, I'd say almost easier for those who don't excel online to head to the Philippines if your not aiming for top tier quality.

Flip side is again the local guys so busted that your smv is gonna be higher then the Philippines, if you are non white.

This thread has been a very interesting read, Irish, you're a legend and really awesome with all the info and updates. I'm going to head in a few weeks but will only get a chance to be in Jakarta mid-week. Sounds like the clubs aren't much at the moment, or is there still a decent Wednesday crowd somewhere? Guess I need to start paying the Tinder fee soon to allow me to swipe out of town and set up some dates ahead of time. Tinder has been God awful to me in Tokyo, bars and clubs are my thing here, but sounds the way to go for easy mid-week fun in Jakarta.

I know Thamrin seems quite popular due to proximity to the 2 malls, but how is Kuningan? Anything decent in proximity as far as nightlife goes? I have Marriott status and can get quite a good deal on the JW Marriott so pretty sure I'm going for that as opposed to an AirBNB, just hope it's not an hour taxi ride from everywhere I want to go during heavy traffic times.

I stayed at the condo inside Kuningan city mall, the condo there was great, the mall was one of the worst I've ever been to (aside from there being a grocery store and Jatomi fitness). It's a good area and short taxi to Basque, Dragon Fly, X2. You could say walking distance if you were in any other city but walking anywhere in Jakarta is pretty much unheard of. If you're going to clubs at night they get going pretty late and the traffic is not too horrible at night. During the day forget it. Ask yourself what you plan on doing during the day while you're there and make sure it's really close to your hotel.

Sounds ok. Daytime likely won't be much more than sleeping off the night before and meeting (hopefully) some girls from Tinder. Will try the "let's go to my hotel pool" game and just get them to come to the hotel. From what I've read on here, probably not worth trying to go to Grand Indonesia and Plaza Indonesia malls for mid-week daygame.

Went to Basque last night (Wednesday) after recommendations on the forum. I only got there around 115am because I had a date earlier (the place closes around 3am, but the music stops at 2am). Indonesia has over 260 million people, If only 0,4% of them are rich, that still makes more than a million rich people. Of that million, many will be in Jakarta.
*I'm not claiming only 0,4 % of Indonesians are rich (whatever rich is), just using a very low percentage.

Another thing, not all rich people in Indonesia like to show it. Yes there are some in your face "look at me being rich" people. But there are also rich people that are unassuming and like to keep a low profile. Ethnicity (different islands and peoples) might be a factor in this, but I'm not sure.

I think Indonesian upper class are more positive and open to Westerners than other upper class Southeast Asians.

Not sure about the trainer part but there is a fitness first at grand indo mall, it's a great gym so they should have trainers. As far as working from your laptop my favorite place was D'Journal on the west part of Grand Indo on the entry level. They have good food and also serve coffee/alcohol, great place to work and meet dates throughout the day.

Also remember that drinks in Indonesia are super expensive compared to everything else, so the % of Indonesian people with money is going to drastically increase when you go out to clubs.
