Got another girl's number on the site on Monday from about 20 miles south of me. She seemed enthusiastic and even asked me when I was free, but once I started texting with her she was taking forever to respond. A three text "conversation" and pitching the meet took the better part of two days.

She says she's willing to meet up this weekend, but I'm probably gonna ghost on this one. Her main pictures looked too professional as well, so my guess is that it's going to be a piplinging serial dater or a no-show.

I think just about every girl it's worked out with has replied to my first text in under an hour; 7 is absurd.

I'm thinking about going back to OKC. I stopped using it after it wasn't producing dates for me, but Tinder has dried up too. I went through 36 girls in the 23-28 age range and categorized them as:

Hot - 3
Cute - 12
Plain - 7
Weirdo - 2
Ugly - 6
Fat - 6

So maybe it's worth giving it another try. I live in an area where weirdos really stand out with their green hairs, but apparently they're not that many in my sample.

My conspiracy theory is that one bitch got really mad at me for drinking her expensive wine and then telling her that I'm not interested in her, so she reported me to Tinder. Haha, dunno.

POF doesn't seem to be as horrible in this area as yours, the girls are better looking but dumber than OKC on average, and the reply rate is overall lower. I did once get a lay from there, and I grabbed a couple #s last month from it, but then a bunch of real life drama hit and I wasn't able to follow up with any of them.

I'm just really glad I don't live in Vince's area because it would suck to know I was probably taking his sloppy seconds...

I live a good 30-35 mins away from the city where I mostly have my dates and the logistics are never there. Yet this 21 year old ginger came down to drink in the city and asked if she would have a place to stay if she got drunk, and she's been coming down ever since.

Same here. I wrote a post about my three dates within one week in August.

I signed up an okcupid account two weeks ago. I was on there for one week. Now I disabled my account due to burn out.

I was on there for one week and spent 45 minutes per night. In my first or second message i would clearly inform them that Im on there 45 minutes max per night, to avoid burn out. Just being honest that I do not like being online.

Also in my first or second message I would make it clear that Im only going to be a member on the site for a few more days, max. Then I would directly number close, being nice, asking them if it is okay to have their phone. No overly confident cave man style online. Im just polite.

On the phone I am myself and just being nice I guess, no big ego or macho attitude. Id say 100% of the time I talk on the phone, they all like me and I am approved. After that its up to me if I want to pursue these girls and get them out in real life. When I set up dates they almost never flake on me.

This time around I got three numbers from three slim women. No dates yet. Two of them never even responded to my calls, oh well, so I dropped them. One did pick up the phone but I blew her off because she just wanted to go out drinking and smoking, which is not my scene anymore.

I got a 40% response rate and I only messaged the cutest girls. After one week my response rate dropped to 0% as it usually does. The site must do that on purpose? I get nothing after one week. Its always after one week and then replies from women abruptly stop.

My profile writing was really straight forward about what type of person I am. It had some requirements like, no mean people, and no drug users. Generally I only like slim women who act friendly and do not use drugs or smoke.

Any tips for avoiding the one week drop off peroid? Does the website do that on purpose?

For the newbies arriving recently, here is my executive summary to the "State of OKC Game" and how to manage all these important questions. I took a break from it for a while, and started getting back into it lately after I went "let's be friends" with the most recent plate I met there.

1) In my area (northeast US), the number, quality, and response rate of girls has declined massively in just the past year. I started using it seriously around May of 2015, and I recall last summer closing on numbers was relatively easy. I remember in July of last year I might send out 30 openers in a week, get 15 replies back, and close on 5 or 6 numbers no problem. I was new to it though, and I didn't really understand what was going on, and I missed out on a lot of dates by "playing it slow." Dumb.

When I log on to OKC around here these days, I see mostly a bunch of faces that have been there since Moses was a baby. The amount of turnover is very small. And compared to the summer of last year, most of the users in my demographic are ugly. It takes me a long time to find even a couple girls worth messaging.

2) You need to screen very hard. Probably 90% of the girls who text me back on OKC are not actually interested in a date. In my experience as a late 30s guy, the weakest leads are women in their early 20s, and perhaps surprisingly, women in their 40s. The most receptive are ages 27-33. I've never banged an OKC MILF, and that's not for lack of trying. The few wall-dodger single women hot enough to bang age 40+ are so few and far between that for them, it's almost like they're 22 again.

I try to wait at least 6-10 messages before asking for her number. Last year, girls would talk with you via text on the site in almost real time, and you could sometimes number close in an hour. In October 2k16, sometimes it takes days. Regardless, I shoot for that number to judge interest. At the first sign of a low-effort response to a text I've put effort into, like "heh. nice." I just eject.

A girl who can't give you half a dozen enthusiastic texts is a girl who is a waste of time.

3) It might not be a well-known thing, but a decent number of girls on OKC are there because they're cheating on their LTR. Red flags: main pictures that aren't headshots but are from a distance or weird angles or otherwise obscured, or if she tells you that she doesn't actually live in the town/city she says she does but nearby because she's "worried about her privacy." If you get the sense that she's being a "woman of mystery" it's likely because she's cheating. She might be down for the SNL, but proceed with caution. The guys with "player" profiles like some of us are the ones who they're going to glom onto first. Who knows who her boyfriend is - might be a cop for all you know.

4) Keep in mind that many girls on OKC are in exactly the same position that VforVlad's girl is - they're getting banged out by a Vlad, but they're keeping their account open and getting texts from other guys and going on dates with other guys. I've been in the same situation he is: I'm fucking some cute girl regularly but she's still got her account active. My automatic position when I meet any OKC girl is that there is at least one Chad Thundercock in her phone that she's getting sex from. It's why I don't really tolerate any bullshit from Internet-dating girls - I know they're not really "single", so I'm giving them like one hour max to decide if they like me enough to move forward with and make me at the very least Chad Thundercock #2. Any "it takes me a long time to get used to new people, I feel uncomfortable meeting new guys, need to go on a lotta dates" bullshit and I'm out the door.

Important facts: I know girls with really hot roommates, and I hear girls talk in Starbucks. A lot of hotties around here are hitting up Bumble these days to get banged out. But to do well there, you have to be in the top 10% of looks. I'm not. I stick with sites where I can mass-open girls because my text game is an equalizer.

Just got off job at factory (?). Limited personality and conversational ability , even though she stated she was widely traveled. Actually, she would have been really good-looking if she dressed halfway normally and put on some makeup. Could have been a 9 then. Single mother. Odd. To make banging online cuties a viable option the US, you basically have to be in an area that can support a large enough population of "free spirited" college-educated young women that don't look like they just crawled out of a trailer park.

That basically means metro areas with 1 million+ people in the Northeast and Cali (best), or Pacific Northwest. South Florida. Maybe a few other cities in the Midwest, like Chicago, and maybe cities like Atlanta and Charolette in the south. And perhaps there are a few hidden gems. Anyone try online dating in SLC or the college towns in upstate New York?

Unfortunately, my guess is that online game elsewhere in the US is a serious dumpster-fire. 28 year old passable single moms with full mailboxes is a bad sign. In Atlanta you don't need to be top ten percent of looks to do well on bumble. I got a few girlfriends this year on bumble and I'm about average. Just put up at least one or two professional looking photos. Buy a $15 tripod like I did to take a art shot, or hire a photographer. Profiles and personalities like that are a dime a dozen in any major US city. I see them all the time in the Boston/Providence area too.

You gotta remember that a large number of women on online sites "these days", perhaps the majority, are not actually serious about dating. I made a post awhile back mentioning that it's like Skyrim for girls; it's an entertaining video game to pass the otherwise dreary time in their lives.

You can still pull from online from time to time, I do, but it's really trying to fit a square peg into a round hole - it's only marginally better than pinging chicks on Facebook.

And it just comes down to screening. Once you've banged a few online girls, you get a pretty good intuition just from a picture and profile on which girls are looking to get laid, and which are just passing time. And certainly any profile where she lists "casual sex" as an option is getting bailed on immediately. I've banged a decent number of girls from OKC, did any of them state explicitly that they were looking for quick sex (even though they were?) Definitely not.

Even with good screening, though, the flake-out rate is absolutely enormous. I had three dates lined up for the weekend, even double-booked assuming at least one would drop out, but ended up rolling out solo. All flaked. And the unfortunate reality is that even sorta-attractive women in their mid-30s around here who use online dating seem to have the mentality of 8 year olds, though in theory most of them graduated college at one point.

It's disconcerting texting a woman who should probably be reading AARP magazine and you feel like you're talking with a preschooler. One even bailed on the meet by texting me something like "Ha! So I'm not gonna be able to make it lol" along with an emoji of a ghost. Miss, you're fucking 32.

So just keep in mind while you're working on it, on their side it's mostly entertainment for adult children.

The day of, she says she isn't comfortable about the date. I don't respond. 10 minutes later she says "I'm just asking to get roofied. I'm cancelling ha"

2. 33 yr old okc...she responded quickly to all my messages and her messages were on the longer side. Everything flowed as it should. Got the number and we texted for a couple days. She asks me about where I lived in the past, I responded. Ghost.

3. 34 yr old on coffee meets bagel - she actually messaged first. She was slow in responding, but her messages were long and thoughtful. She asked questions. But her responses were taking 1-2 days. So when the chat was about to close I gave her my number for the hell of it. Unexpectedly, she texts me, we exchange a couple of texts. Ghost.

^ I've gotten a sense as to what girls have the hottest buying temperature, and it's middle of the road. A girl whose messages are too short is a weak lead. Additionally, a girl whose messages are too long and filled with personal questions and irrelevant detail is, ironically, also often a weak lead. It's okay to ask some questions, like what I like to read, or what music I'm into, or how long I've lived in the area, etc. but when it feels like she's trying to extract my whole life story via text I become wary. Why does she care about all this trivia before she's even met me? This is shit that we banter about on the date. Oh, right. She's just chit chatting to pass the time and doesn't have any intention of coming out to check out the real deal.

I've noticed some of the biggest flakes and timewasters will respond to my first message with a big ramble, and then hit me up with a personal question on the last line. It's incongruent and weird, like they're having to specifically remember to ask about me when they'd really just rather be talking about themselves. A bunch of girls have done this - it's like they're all reading the same "How To Pretend Not to be a Narcissist" on dating apps guide and they were pretty much all timewasters. Questions flow naturally in a conversation if she's really interested. She doesn't have to take a special time out for them.

I've very rarely been surprised when a girl flakes on me or otherwise ejects when she falls into those two categories. The "text feel" the girls it worked out with was always pretty much the same: enthusiastic and sending me more than a couple words, but concise. Banter back and forth for a half dozen messages, then it's fairly quickly onto logistics "Oh yeah, you're up in such and such a town? What's fun to do on a weekend up there?" Take her number, hit her up via text the next afternoon and pitch the meet, and within a couple texts you'll say "So what's your schedule like for the next few days?", if all goes well she'll say something like "As far as I know I'm pretty much open", you'll pitch a day no more than two or three away and a venue, and she shows up.

This is what I like to see, and this is the program that's worked for me many times. Any bullshit or deviation from that, and I'm getting ready to cut my losses and move on.

Closing her was surprisingly easy. Turns out that I caught her early as she just reactivated after 6 months. She even explained her self during the date...that she wasn't getting the kind of attention she was hoping for. Nothing but a bunch of weirdo's (aka unattractive men) and that she predicted that I would message her after the new pictures in her skirt.

Logistics weren't there for a first date lay, and she had to be back for night shift at a certain time. We've had a decent date two and it's at a point where she is down to come watch a movie at my place for the next one....but I'm not sure if I should go through with it. Something tells me that I shouldn't let this girl know where I live as she could be a potential psycho. Will probably pass on it. Just a gut feeling.
