It deserved the consideration it's gotten, when it started getting it. From there it's been a steep decline and in 2019 your statement couldn't be more true.

From my experience for an okay looking guy, not classically handsome, not ugly

2011 - could get the hottest girls very, very easily
2013 - could get the hottest girls with some effort, and pretty hot ones very easily
2014 - gradual start of the decline
2017 - last year that was pretty much okay
2018 - pretty much over for quality... by which I mean girls that are hot
2019 - I now see white guys under 35 consistently dating down in BGC and Makati. It's appalling.

While in 2011 most expats were complaining about the country's infrastructure, pollution, food, internet, hotels, noise, heat, and general IQ level, "the pussy made it worth putting up with it"... that is definitely not the case anymore.

The only guys I see with hot Filipinas now are guys that would be considered legitimately good-looking back home in the West. Most everyone else is dating trolls here now. Oh, and older guys still get honeys sometimes, but they obviously pay.

As I.B. said, competition is very high now and quality is very low. I can match almost 200 girls with one boost, but the ones that are actually hot are more than unimpressed and hardly reply to messages, if I match them at all. If you don't need them to be super hot though, quantity over quality, definitely very much still available.

Bottom line, it depends how picky you are. If you want a bang mission with 30 lays in 30 days and don't care much about their looks, Philippines is still the best place in the world for that. If you want your girls to be hot, you better either be handsome yourself, or willing to pay, or pick a different country.

I did PH only in 2018 so I can't comment on the decline personally, however a lot of SEA has changed. I did BKK a few years ago and have been back every year and while things are still doable I do see the changes.

I have talked to guys from RVF offline who did PH a few years ago and they have confirmed the decline is real.

I realize this is a matter of personal taste.

I have also not been to Thailand or Vietnam, but I love the Phils. Ordinary, average guy, middle-aged and I pull girls 18 and up. I can see where the country may be lacking or perhaps some may get bored with the Filipinas, but it's all gravy in the Navy here.
the-dream 路 2019-03-10 02:37:00 路 #7169
It is probably a reason for the decline in ease of the girls but Enhanced Eddie's timeline of decline follows pretty closely an uptick in livability and comfort of the Philippines.

Especially between 2016 and 2017 and it is still ongoing, there was/is a big improvement in many things such as:

- Way better and more widely available internet
- Airports have greatly improved
- Many more cool bars and restaurants
- Online shopping becoming decent
- Reliable, dignified transport (Grab)

All of which make reports on Metro Manila being a shithole seem quite outdated.

It's not just us either. I've seen upper working class/lower middle class families (nurses, policemen, teaches, office workers) lives get way more Western comforts that they would have never dreamed of in just the last couple of years.

You mention two things that explain it all. Makati and Tinder.

I don't even need to explain it, everyone knows, It's been reiterated for years how over played and worn out that market is.

So I have to ask, why Makati/BCG? Why tinder?

@the-dream

Metro Manila is still absolutely a shithole and just because you have some poorly executed services doesn't mean shit.

Online vendors still run out of stock and still slow.

Grab still surges at every hour of the day.

Internet is ass unless you pay for Fiber.

Handful of decent places to eat are clustered in the Poblacion area but are overcrowded.

No one in their right mind should live in this asylum.
Enhanced Eddie 路 2019-03-10 03:24:00 路 #7172
It's true though, if you have money, you can live comfortably in Manila now. It's not as cheap as Thailand, but it's nearly first world standard in some parts.
Quote:So I have to ask, why Makati/BCG? Why tinder?
I posted this previously, but I'll reiterate... I spent a lot of time exploring all areas of Manila for daygame. It's all shit except for Malate (hooker area) and Poblacion (hooker area).

You see about one or two girls that are objectively hot per week in Manila (the "wow" effect, not "cute and bangable if I lower my standards to get my rocks off"), no matter where you are. So at that point, I'd rather be in BGC and actually have a nice standard of living.

Tinder is shit but so is Fil Cupid, Bumble and all the others. DIA and PL are downright atrocious now. So what does that leave us with? The city isn't target rich enough for cold approach. The appeal here was the ability to pick out the few hot ones online that you can hardly find walking around.

If I could, I would move to Thailand or South America today... unfortunately it'll be a few months still before I can make that happen. I know some here are skeptical of my posts like I just want to keep guys away from my pussy paradise, but you'll see me leave here as soon as I'm ready.

It's just too late. I see young white guys here now and I wanna go up to them and tell them "Dude... you're a few years late. Party's over."
kazz 路 2019-03-10 04:45:00 路 #7173
I do well on cupid, was on there a couple years ago, have not noticed any change. To add perspective I do well in my own country. The VERY few hot ones on there have as much attitude as a rating 2 >5 western women.

Seems like nowdays you have to up your value, I see this as a good thing.

Boots on the ground info. coming later this year.

Im back home now. I decided to go down south and i spent time with one girl whom I found the most attractive, she's pretty damn hot in my opinion and personality wise she was great. Thats an underestimated quality i think for guys here, there was one girl from earlier in the trip who was also really attractive but she was a dead fish and despite her looks I just wasn't into it and never bothered to meet up with her again.

All in all, the trip was a success. The trip did make me realise that if i had to choose between sleeping with a high number of girls i didn't care that much for or spending time with a quality girl whom i did like, id choose the ladder. I think i prefer having the quality girlfriend then just sleeping around. Before this trip I had no idea and maybe that'll change over time we'll see.

Regarding MNL as a place for game, in my opinion its still paradise but its not as easy as just showing up and getting a hot girl to sit on your face it requires game, confidence and going through a lot of shit, such as flakes, change of date times, conflicting schedules which result in no dates, last minute changes the list goes on it can get frustrating but thats all part of it thats why I think you'd do well if your staying for 30 days + gives you time to work around mistakes. Ultimately, they are girls who are the same as the girls you'd meet anywhere else the biggest difference is that MNL is just easier. Still haven't tried day game but i truly think thats the key to getting the hottest girls.

Not that I did this but another thing I noticed was that when you go down to smaller provinces such as Iloilo or bacolod etc Tinder is actually easier and getting the hotter girls is even more possible because theres almost no younger white foreigners around. Its kind of a joke but logistics can be a nightmare

I have two questions:

1) In terms of going back to 'reality' how do you guys not get depressed? Focusing on money and starting to look into the next trip seems to help me at the moment.

2) Besides MNL and BKK which would be the next best cities in terms of girls, english levels etc, Jakarta or Saigon?

(03-09-2019 07:29 AM)calwinston Wrote:  Looks like this thread is having a slow death. Does anyone like the Philippines anymore?

I love it.

Swooped up a 20-year-old virgin and living with her in a temp condo in the city (not Makati), when I'm not ripping around banca boats (yup, I bought one) and motorbikes on smaller islands.

Manila is more and more livable every time I come back - the food and the nightlife constantly evolving in a better direction in both diversity and quality. Japanese and Korean food have taken the city by storm. Not to mention plenty of other great options. I still remember the days when it was tough to find a good burger or slice of pizza anywhere in southeast asia - not so anymore. Burger joints are a dime a dozen now and can even be found in small, relatively unnoticed cities.

You can find Michelin star restaurants in malls, of all places, with plenty of worthy competitors lined up beside them. And the Filipino food is even getting better, with more restaurants getting more ambitious and creative and giving the cuisine the treatment it needs to be done right. There are markets in various locations around the city with live music and food and drink on the weekends - everything from mexican food to burgers to traditional filipino fare (one of these I went to was in an outdoor park yet had free wifi).

Over all, it's easier than ever to live the equivalent of a 1st world lifestyle here.

Even areas like poblaccion, which for a long time was only known as a hooker area, have begun to evolve in a different direction. A few years ago if I told someone I was staying near Makati Ave, they'd look at me funny. Now doubt they would. All kinds of hip and trendy spots are popping up around there that are frequented by moneyed Filipinos and the younger european crowds. You won't find girls in those venues always begging to jump on your dick, but that doesn't mean you won't meet some lookers who are keen to hook up. Bringing your A game recommended.

The actual hookery joints, on the other hand, seem to be in a bit of a decline, much like those areas of Bangkok. A lot of the girls in p4p spots look ugly, are chubby, or have stretch marks. I think with the easy money and thirst online that scene dying out more and more around Southeast Asia. No skin off my back, though, and I welcome the day when living in these places doesn't come with a bunch of assumptions about what you're up to.

Right now I'm staying at one of these resort-inspired condo buildings that are becoming more prevalent in the cities. On one of the floors is a large outdoor park with multiple pools, a jogging trail, and lawns big enough to do sprints on. You can hear the traffic below, but it's still a very peaceful, clean, and well-lit place to relax at night - I try to get in some laps in the pool every morning when I wake up.

This is my second time living in the Philippines (one year back already) but it's the first time I've dated a Filipina with anything resembling sincere intentions - never felt like I could trust any of the others. But a solid, more traditional Filipina is a thing to behold.

My chick is not quite model material and could probably find myself a girl just as attractive anywhere. But she is cute and sexy enough to turn even local heads. Most importantly she has a femininity and devotion to her man that can only come from a Filipino upbringing.

She's currently learning to cook all my favorite dishes and apologizes profusely if she catches me rinsing a plate or doing anything similar. Is entreprenurial and learning to work out. She doesn't drink and thinks tattoos are gross on women. She's constantly in a cheerful mood and never starts fights over anything. She even insists on cutting my toenails and sings while she does it.

Last night I got a little lost and didn't come home until daylight...I wasn't with a girl but still kind of a dick move. She stayed up all night worried about me, yet instead of being angry she's been clinging to my arm all day saying she's glad to have me next to her. Indeed, my biggest concern in our relationship is making sure I don't take advantage of this type of devotion and tread all over her, which is something I'm obviously still struggling with. I do treat her pretty well, otherwise, all things considered, though. And we get along great.

I've had a lot of long-term girlfriends, and even in the states they treated me well, cooking and cleaning and acting like women. But no woman has ever treated me so well and so consistently as the one that I have now. And it's obvious how much of it was just due to Filipino parenting and culturally ingrained.

I feel like I'm leaning towards leaving my partying days behind me and thumping clubs are losing their appeal more and more. And for a more subdued lifestyle I think it's a great place to be. If you want to disappear on an island and build up your own slice of cheap paradise or live a cush and comfortable life in the city, I still think the Philippines has a lot to offer. I will probably do both. It will get a lot more expensive here as the country continues to move forward, but there are many other corners of the country to relocate to as that happens.

As for the online dating stuff, I never played around with it much even in its heyday. So maybe I just don't really know what I missed. I did meet my current online, though, so there's that. We also chatted for months and months before meeting, and I don't think most of you guys here are looking to do that or to get involved with a conservative woman and move her in the way I did.

To those who are, she wasn't the only young and attractive but conservative girl (or virgin) I chatted with online, so there are still many other quality ones out there if you're looking for that sort of thing. Girls in the heart of Manila of course have a lot more temptation in their face, though - mine was from a tiny island in the middle of nowhere and had been living in a very subdued small city the past couple years, working 6 days a week in a mall. They will, of course, have plenty other foreign and local men pursuing them online if they're attractive, so they are still aware they have options.

After over a decade of spending most of my time in Southeast Asia, easy puss and shallow interactions have been wearing me down for years, I guess, and while I kept going back and forth on the idea, in the end I guess it was time for something more substantial. I'll also be coming up on 40 in a couple years, and I think I could do a lot worse than having children with an old school Filipina when that time comes.

Anyhow, there are drawbacks and cultural quirks here that aggravate, but that's true anywhere. Overall, I really enjoy living in the Philippines and will probably home base here a while and see where the relationship goes. Thailand is still home to me but I got a little tired of the visa issues, and it will probably be trickier than ever living there with a Filipina in tow.

This place (all these places) will continue to change and some things I'll miss and others I won't. That's life and getting older and could be said about the place I grew up too.

Just thought an alternative perspective could be helpful. To each his own, and no reason to stay in a place these days if it makes you unhappy. But from where I sit, things are still pretty damn good over here. Most of the other guys I know who live here, in various social circles, wouldn't want to live anywhere else. I've noticed a lot of the long-termers who are still living in and loving places like Bangkok and Manila just don't seem to post in these threads much anymore.

A few hours have passed, as expected about 50 messages and same for "interest", nothing new here I know. One thing I have noticed (I have not paid to view messages thus far) a lot of the message taglines and the first couple of words of the message itself (the bit I can see without paying) seem to be stock responses. i.e. quite a few begin "Very in...", "Hope yo..." or "Wow! I..."

I am also noticing a lot of these women are older, thirties, a couple of fourties (need to change that setting!) I haven't decided whether I'm actually gonna pay to read them fully yet or not...

Just updating in case anyone is actually interested in what it's like signing up for FC for the first time these days.

Yeah, I figured. Didn't get the sense you disliked the place - looked like tongue in cheek.

Just thought it was about time for a more optimistic perspective to balance things out here anyways, so put in my two cents.

You know, I was almost ready to give up on this thread, and then BB as usual writes a gem with the post to start this page. It was probably one of the most necessary posts this thread needed to see in about 50 pages.

I haven't been back in a couple of years to the Phils, but I look back on my time there as the best period of my life. It legitimately changed me in ways I can't go back to what I was like before going there.

Some of you guys to me sound jaded. The Phils has always been polarizing on RVF, but some people here need to have the country's back because you guys make it sound like it's turned into Europe and I can tell you it hasn't having just been over there. I'm not going to sit here and pretend I was getting 8-9's every day, but the girls I was with for the most part were the most pleasant I have ever encountered. These girls taught me more about humility and optimism than 24 years in America ever did. At its best, it was the yin to my yang.

I think you guys need to hear a story that may get you more optimism on the girls here. One girl I was with for a while knew I was going through a rough time when I was with her and a little after I left. To put it simply, I got back into a few bad habits I had before meeting her as kind of a reaction to a tragic event in my personal life, and she saw me go through it after knowing me for a bit. I didn't really have anything to offer her, had maybe given her $5 the entire time I was involved with her. But I treated her well and she appreciated that. After she knew I was getting into some bad habits, she refused to give up on me. She wanted the best for me and kind of gave me a refresher on why I should snap out of it. I'm not going to lie, some of her advice fell on death ears, but one night I'll never forget accidentally drunk dialing her after a very long drinking marathon and she knew I didn't sound right. She asked my friend who she never met but knew of to check to make sure I was alright. My friend showed me the text to him the next morning and I couldn't believe she was actually that concerned, by that point we hadn't been involved in quite a while.

My point is, it may not be as easy as it used to be, but there's still hope to find something good in this country. These people (good and bad) make you change your perspective on life if you grew up in the west. I've met other guys that had their lives go from shit in the west to a paradise here. It may not be for everybody anymore, it may not be as much of a walk in the park, but I'm gonna be damned to believe there are not still opportunities here to meet decent women and even go on a potential casual marathon too.

One more thing, if the party is over in the Philippines, than it's over in all of SEA. Maybe that's true, but again, I have my doubts here. Thailand gets 5x the tourists the Phils does, Vietnam is starting to get a lot of nomads to flock there that don't wanna deal with Thailand's stricter visa policies. Cambodia is even getting some more attention than I expected for the real low budget expats and sightseeing tourists. Bali is well.... let's not even go there. I keep up with travel companies and hot spots people talk about. All three countries in the region plus the Bali side of Indonesia get a lot more attention than the Philippines. I swear some people forget this place exists.

So, let's try not to act like the Philippines is dying. As mentioned above, quality of life seems to be increasing and the internet still doesn't have a stable enough connection to send all the expats over. Not to mention other expats think it's too expensive for value compared to the countries above.

True, and I hope it stays that way for a while yet. The part that worried me is when BB said it was getting easier to live a first world life in the phils. While that may sound attractive, that also means it could start to get expensive or bring increased headaches with respect to visa requirements as we see in Thailand lately.

Can't say as I blame Thailand though, they are probably at the point where they've had it with idiot alcoholic expats treating their country like an open air brothel. The Phils can't afford to be too aggressive yet, but that day could arrive. If that happens, well, I guess there's always Malaysia. It remains to be seen what happens with Vietnam, but if their country keeps improving infrastructure at the rate that they are, it won't need to worry about long term tourists and retirees living on the cheap as a source of income.

Meanwhile, if I were living in the Phils long term (and I have not even been there yet), I'd take the funny looks and the derisive attitudes from fat western women all day long if it keeps the hordes of overpaying people who expect Easy Street at bay.聽 A little cultural unfamiliarity and daily difficulties like no overnight delivery can keep a surprising number of sloths from leaving their cocoons. Let them flock to Bali and keep turning it into Disneyworld instead.

80% of thai men visit prostitutes and most prostitution is thai focused.

Thais in general are low class trash and fake friendly while talking trash about you behind your back or even in your face as a foreigner because they think you don't understand. Better off thais have huge egos and demand to be catered to as demi gods. Piss them off and your head rolls. That's why everybody is very careful to assess your status and act all deferential. They're only openly hostile when they fear no repercussions.

For every genuine friendly thai person there are 99 fakes.

Yes most foreigners coming to thailand are trash tier but it's a trash tier country as well and like attracts like I guess...

For every alcoholic foreigner there are at least 10 alcoholic thai men. Obviously they're more high functioning because they're not alienated foreigners but that doesn't mean they're much better.

I'm British and the Philippines has gone from being totally unknown and unthought of in the UK to really being on people's radars as a tourist destination in the last year or so. I've had friends from home with their British girlfriends even dragging them along to come see me here in the last year which would have been unheard of two years ago. Traveling South East Asia has been a big thing for Brits for a long time but they would never include the Philippines on their itinerary (Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos and maybe Bali would be the destinations) and now all of a sudden it's one of their main fixtures. I think this is mainly down to viral vlogs on YouTube and Facebook of places like El Nido.

What are you here to do? Trying to ruffle feathers? Cry for attention? Don't like to see people sharing positive experiences? You never have anything constructive to add to the conversation. You know where your posts would fit in? Incel forums like sluthate.

You're being irrational and exaggerating as usual. Grow a thicker skin. You can say the same things about any city if your social ineptitudes hold you back.

I meet unhappy socialy retarded foreigners in EVERY city I spend significant time in. They're all badly broken people with similar complaints.

Just the other day in a park in HCMC a very disgruntled, strange young British man sat on a bench next to me and proceeded to have a minor public meltdown, literally trying to start verbal altercations with every Viet who glanced at him, and he began to draw a lot of attention because he was being a cunt and doing it loudly.

I was about to get up and move away but I just looked at him and asked him what's wrong. He immediately calmed down and we began to talk. He had a lot of shit to let out about how much he hates Vietnamese people and how they're all dead inside and out to get him, and had identical feelings about Thailand.

If a place really grinds you down that bad, pack up and leave, move on, don't piss on everyone else's parade because you don't want to see them enjoying life.

And don't be shocked when no one wants to interact with you because of your a miserable autistic vibe.

Thing is in the Philippines, everyone is having sex all the time. It's a heaving mass of fornication behind the walls of those unprepossessing buildings, condos, upscale apartments and tin shacks. This has nothing to do with foreigner value. It's 99% Pinoy/Pinay love. But if you come here you have to have serious issues not to get a slice of the action. Maybe you can't get a 7 from Tinder every day of the week like you could in 2013. But who cares? Plenty of willing ladies to meet.

Just pointing out that there are a lot of self hating westerners oblivious to the ways of locals.

I don't think all south east asians are out to get me but there is a large enough percentage of psychopathic and predatory people that target foreigners for me to not stick around. There are no such issues in north east asia where most people generally couldn't give two shits about you and your average income westerner is nothing special to them.

Good post from BB. Made me miss the new emerging Poblacion, which has been amazing.

If I go back, I'll live within walking distance, but not in the neighborhood. Poblacion is an interesting phenomenon. A HK Chinese businessman I met at H&J told me that the Lan Kwai Fong group is buying up the neighborhood to turn it into an upscale nightlife destination.

It's amazing that foreign entrepreneurs (with local political partners) can buy houses in what was a quiet residential neighborhood and turn them into bars open late, but that's the Philippines. I was walking around taking pictures of the old wooden houses and asked some residents living in them what they thought about the bars: not happy. Good for us, bad for them.

It could be awesome if they preserve the architecture and ambiance, but knowing the Philippines greed will control and they'll tear down the old wooden buildings and build a bunch of cast-concrete boxes. We'll see. I miss doing the rounds at Kismet Cafe, Howzat, Mulligan's, Joe's Brew, Handlebar, Pura Vida, the market outside A Venue

So this all boils down to guys mad because they can't get 7/8s from Tinder anymore? I'm seeing well "back in 2011 I was able to swoop a model of Tinder with ease." That sounds like the old used up slut that is remembering all the times she had that young alpha dick. The lot of you sound like a bunch of bitter old hags. You come to the Philippines and had a great time, saw great beaches, banged a bunch of girls to inflate your already low notch counts, and lived cheaply but still had some good western standards. If this isn't textbook the male version of an Alpha widow then I dont know what is.

For those of you who no longer enjoy the Phils then do us all a favor and stay away from this thread. Some of us would still like to pass useful info and even meet up.

Every time I go to Poblacion and walk around the back streets, there is a new bar or hotel that I haven't seen before. And I go there a lot!

I think it is at it's peak right now though and will soon become too commercialised and expensive. It makes sense having the high end nightlife in a fancy feeling place like BGC or central Makati like it was a few years ago, not somewhere like Poblacion which as trendy as it is, is still a shithole with beggars and trash everywhere, broken pavements, terrible pollution etc. For those reasons, over-commerical and high end places won't last long once they've killed the trendiness of the area.

Poblacion was the antidote to BGC etc. from the people who were still upper class but weren't into that scene and wanted something more raw and real. Trendy but not commercial.

But as it is now, Poblacion is an amazing and addictive place, just full of life of every kind. You can see prostitutes and whoremongers, scammers and hustlers, white backpackers, corrupt policemen, middle aged arabs, Filipino rich kids, expats, Filipino hipsters and Filipino 30s professionals all coming for the restaurants and bars contrasted to the poor locals going about their every day life, living completely different lives but all in just a few streets and all in total harmony with each other, not bothering each other. It's quite beautiful really!
