.... "they held the gate."

Watching episode 9 put more hair on my chest. Jon Snow is killin' it. And that massive scythe that cleaned the Wall...

Wish I'd read the books beforehand. Maybe I'll join in with "The Winds of Winter".

The giant was actually played by an actor..a gigantic actor. No CGI.

I think it was out of character for that guy to push her through the moon door.. seemed kind of reckless.

It's way better carried out in the Book, but the scene is also lengthy there.

What happens is that Lysa is starting to come apart and reveal the entire scheme Baelish has been playing since the start of the series (essentially LF is the Macguffin that has set everything in motion). So it's pretty much a decisive and calculated risk for him to dispose of her as she has outlived her usefulness and turns into a liability.

Spoilers

They really condensed a lot. In the books, it made a lot more sense for Tyrion to be killing Tywin. Jaime tells Tyrion that Tysha(Tyrion's first wife) was not actually a whore, but tywin turned her into one and had all of his soldiers rape her and pay her a piece of silver because she was low born and married his son. *That* is a reason to kill your father. In the show, they mention Tysha in season 2, but I guess they had Shae take her place. It doesn't really make much sense for Tyrion to be outraged at his father calling shae a whore. She really was a whore.

Additional spoilers...

Despite leaving the Tysha reveal out, Tywin likely played a large part in coercing Shae into giving her false testimony against Tyrion - condemning him to death. Clearly the two were intimate, since Tyrion found her cooing "my lion" in the hand's bed. That final, twisted act, compounded with all of the other shit Tywin has put his youngest son through made the murder in the privy convincing enough for me.

What I'm curious about, is what Tyrion will be thinking when he's drunkenly ambling through Essos. It's been awhile since I read Dance, but I recall he was always pondering "where do whores go?" as if he was seeking out Tysha.

Regardless, great season.

There is a theory that in the books Varys had already poisoned Tywin, and purposely took Tyrion to Tywin, so that Tyrion could put the bow in, and get the blame for the death.

Was a decent but not mind-blowing finale. Disappointed that a certain character didn't return after a long absence and that the Daenerys plotline just drones boringly on and on.

Yes, Daenerys's scenes have all mostly been really boring this season. However I am sure this will change on next season, as well as with Stannis.

Why did Arya refuse to kill that big guy, the guy who she had been travelling with for such a long time? It's like she was giving him a condescending stare or something and then just walked off leaving him to die.

What was the whole point in Ned Stark's youngest son, the one who can't walk, going to that tree in the far north? Who was that old guy inside the tree?

I guess this is what happens when you try to condense an entire book into a TV show, it leaves you asking a shitload of questions. Either way I am not going to read the books because I don't have time for that.

@boycottamericanwomen: the answers to these questions are not given in the books either. The further the books go, the more cliffhangers and illogical actions they have. If anything, the show is making it better. It might be the only hope for salvaging the craptastic book 5 in which nothing at all happens.

The hound kept her alive and helped her, in his own way. He was going to sell her to her aunt lysa, but littlefinger killed her, it would have made sense for him to just ditch her. He didn't.

Bran is a master at warging. They are taking bran to the three eyed raven in his dream.

Bloodraven, the three eyed raven in Bran's dreams who is a Targerean blood magician and another master warg. He is a couple hundred years old.
