Anyone been down south to Koh Samui by any chance? Is there any good nightlife outside of Green Mango and it's surrounding bars or Ark Bar on the beach? Wasn't a fan of either last night. Green Mango full of hookers and Ark Bar full of cock.

arriving bangkok wednesday, most those budget hotels (less than 70USD a night) you mentioned are sold out, could anyone recommend some others? It will be my first time in bangkok and i'd like good logistics from nightlife.

Shored a working girl I met off Tinder the other night for the Thai flag. Honestly, I don't think I like Thailand much. I'm based in Korea and I'm way more into the Korean/Chinese/Japanese tourists I've been seeing around. I came here as a bit of a last minute idea and it's just not going like I thought/wanted it to. I've been here before (when I was in a monogamous relationship) and thought coming back would be a good idea but honestly very little about Thailand is getting me excited now that I'm here. Given my vacation windows I'm just starting to feel like I wasted a chance to just go back to Tokyo.

What exactly is it you don't like about Thailand? I'm genuinely interested. How does it compare to those other countries you mentioned, not just with girls, but overall experience?

I tend to use the following words interchangeably:

Girls, women, sluts, bitches, hos, hoes, sloots, bishes, thots, sorostitutes, sororosluts, whore, etc.

I think I'm just being a mopey bitch right now, actually. My trip started a little rough and I'm making excuses for it when I should be dusting myself off and trying to make good. I'm not particularly into Thai girls or Thai culture but I need to take a better shot at it before I say shit like "I don't like Thailand".

In general though, I like East Asia a hell of a lot. It's clean and convenient. I speak Korean (childishly but functionally) and Japanese (conversationally) so I feel very little discomfort doing stuff and interacting with people. I know a lot about both cultures and I've got plenty of friends between the countries. Basically I have a deep comfort zone there that I do not have in Thailand.

A report on some of the clubs in Bkk.

Monday:

Onyx - Not particular crowdy especially after Xmas. Avoid the tables near the bar as these tend to be the lady boys. Wasnt much talent around but if your korean/japanese looking you will have easier success to pull here. Approached a couple but its too loud for them to hear anything so left to an after party place.

Mixx - This place is full of male westerners and alot of lone thai chicks. I am assuming they are working girls. Theres a seperate area for EDM music but avoid unless you want Eastern European working girls approaching you. Went back to the main part of the club, i didnt get approached as I am Thai looking so they assume no money. Left this place after 30 minutes.

ScratchDog - Another after party place that closes at 4am. Not many westerners but a lot of Japanese/Korean/Singaporeans. Got approached by one girl, she immediately kissed me and said lets go. I knew she was a working girl so told her no. Approached a few and got talking but it was closing time so have to try this again. I would suggest this place if your asian looking and couldnt get anything in a normal club.

Tuesday -

Insanity Night club - A club that shuts at 6am. Arrived around 1am. Was full of male westerners dancing mad. A lot of thai girls sitting in groups at tables but trying to work out which groups were working. I would again avoid the tables nearest to the bar as these are working girls. The ones by the side of the stage too as they can get a good look on the guys walking past. I ventured into the middle as these tables are more centered so not many passer bys. Tried to game a few but they seemed intent on only going with westerners. I would suggest coming here if you athletic and western looking. Though, do ask if they are working or not.

Today will try to hit the Thai clubs like Demo/Beam. The clubs seem to overloaded with Japanese and Korean guys here and they are popular as fuck. Being chinese and thai looking is a disadvantage here in the clubs.

So I'm getting bored with Thailand and want to experience something different for the last couple weeks of my trip before flying back home mid January. I thought about Cambodia, Vietnam or Laos as they're easy and cheap to get to, but I get the impression they would all feel similar in a watered down sort of way. I would love to check out Tokyo or Korea but the weather sucks at this time of the year. Hong Kong and Taiwan also crossed my mind as I wouldn't need a visa. Any other suggestions for January?

Vietnam is good for the craziness. Food even better than Thailand and much different. I wouldn't go there looking for easy bangs. It's doable but the girls are more conservative. Taipei is also really cool. Much more clean and organized than Thailand though.

Vietnam is nothing like Thailand. Myanmar is also a really cool experience culturally. I would recommend that you check out one or both of those.

Burma is quite boring I think but the food is the best in SEA.

In what ways is Vietnam vastly different to Thailand?

The only thing I worry about, being a night owl, is finding enough solid nightlife to keep me occupied every night. Bangkok provides this. I just want to experience it in a completely different environment.
