I thought she was worse down low in the verses. She has a weak, non-mellifluous voice. It's grating, squeaky and lacks strong pitch intonation and tone. Piano playing is what is known as 'busking accompaniment'. If she's only at that level by 18, she's strictly an amateur and hasn't put in the necessary hours of work developing her voice or her playing, but still expects praise equal to those who have, which paints her as a standard millienial.

Between their unwillingness to be political, controversial or to put in any real effort, the next twenty years of young musicians are going to be painful to listen to. Autotune and chorusing can only do so much.

I listened to a few songs. My point was that her music was simply unremarkable - neither worthy of commendation nor of scorn, neither memorable nor grating. Her voice isn't good, but it's not horrible either. It's not beautiful, but it's not two-cats-fucking either.

So that's why I don't think it's fair to trash her, because her work isn't bad enough to merit strong scorn. It's not good enough to merit praise either, but it's just not worth getting the pitchforks and torches over. Either she'll get better and learn how to write a decent hook, or her music will fade away. As it is, I don't think it's really worth mentioning one way or another.
