Tl;dr: her father abandoned her when she was young, she was raised by a stepfather who killed himself a year ago, and she was repeatedly molested by her cousin. In other words, her very existence proves Tuthmosis right.

What I don't understand is why she's telling all this to the world. It's grade-A narcissism to use the Internet as a free therapy session, and her teary-eyed delivery shows that she's not ready to do this kind of thing yet. I left a comment telling her to stop making videos and get professional help.

There is another reason for this video and others like it. The influence of reality TV and TV talk shows have redefined how women behave and see themselves.

Once upon a time, the drama in women's lives was a sideshow. But the pervasiveness of the media I just mentioned has made it the main show. Women watch these reality show and think the massive emoting is how they should behave and non-stop turmoil is the way life is. YouTube gives them a forum to show that.

The concept of keeping a "stiff upper lip" is completely alien to most women today. Excruciating, exhibitionist emoting is now commonplace behavior for them, no matter whether it's appropriate or not. In America, we live and die by our media and we are NOT the same society that used to try to emulate sitcom-styled happy endings in our lives.

The warm fuzzies of "Family Matters" or "Boy Meets World" are now totally outdated. The cold, ugly near-hysterical drama of "America's Next Top Model," "Teen Mom," or the "Housewives" franchises are what shape our culture now. 15 years ago, these shows would have been seen as tawdry insanity; now they're the new normal.

Women watch these shows and obsess over them. Don't underestimate the power they have in framing the modern-day woman's reality, actions, and self-conception.

There is NO equivalent to this when it comes to the media men consume.

Someone who was able to intentionally go on a diet of an apple every two days for two months probably has some kind of mental disorder,
likely including stupidity. I've never heard any qualified nutritionist condone such insanity.

Low carb, low fat have legitimate advocates, but that is just bad news. She might have been in a manic phase or some other imbalance.

Good to have another frame of reference. I've never seen a reality show, but if they're what you're saying it would describe a lot of the over-the-top behaviour I've seen from women in public places recently.

Here's an example:

I was in the supermarket at the start of the year, and a trashy, overweight woman in a aspirational-branded fashion t-shirt far too small for her fat rolls lost her shit over having to wait two minutes for a girl to come out of the back room to open a second checkout to open up for her.

Her tantrum then involved:

- yelling at the (younger, blonde, attractive) checkout operator for two minutes because the 'i'm sorry' she received wasn't good enough;

- demanding to see the manager;

- abusing someone who told her to calm down;

- sending her embarrassed children to wait out in the car whilst 'something gets done';

- smiling vindictively when the checkout operator burst into tears and ran away;

- telling the religious lady with the scarf over her hair who told her to stop being being mean that she 'stunk', and that she could smell her all through the store whilst she was shopping, and the other shoppers audibly-gasped at her rudeness;

- overdramatically yelling at the manager that she was an important person (she wasn't) who didn't have time to wait around (she did), whilst holding up the line for 15 minutes because of her tantrum;

- asking to fill out a written complaint, and not letting anyone else through the checkout until she had;

- saying everyone here in line agreed with her, then me calmly saying "I don't. You're acting like a spoilt brat over a two minute, minor inconvenience," and daring, just fucking daring her with eyes to say something smart back, which she had the common sense not to do.

After all this, she dramatically pushed her trolley out of the store. I noticed she has the standard own-brand chocolate biscuits, potato chips and soda coupled with the Slimfast meal replacement packets trolley I see with people who talk about 'genetics'.

I looked at the manager. "Don't send that complaint. She was just a nasty bitch," then apologised to the two old ladies behind me for swearing, who giggled and they'd allow it in this case. They'd had mortified looks on their faces all through her performance, because they were from a generation where you simply didn't behave like that in public.

A couple of minutes later, as I packed my bags, the fat bitch slapped me on the back. She'd come back in the store, just to tell me what she thought of me. A guy my size.

"And next time you should just mind your own fucking business", she said with a huff, then dramatically flounced off, pleased as punch with herself. Women just love being sassy.

And I honestly thought "This is a woman who has shit on everyone's day within this store, and is only allowed to behave like this because society allows her to."

I mean, let's face it, once upon a time, if you behaved like that, the community would gather together and run you out of town.

I thought "This is a woman, who, in all honesty, needs to be punched in the face, and hard, to learn that this simply isn't an acceptable way for a woman in her thirties to act." And I say that being one of the easiest-going men I've ever known.

Obviously, I didn't, but it's interesting to see the difference between men when they're unhappy and women when they're unhappy. I'd just buried my oldest friend a few days before. No-one in the store would have guessed that.

Does this sound like the sort of reality show behaviour you're talking about? All that fuss over a minor inconvenience? Are they really learning this is acceptable behaviour?

Do we need any further evidence to make it clear that today's women view government as their stepfather? When men are emasculated, women will find authority figures elsewhere.

Women always need to have a master to serve. If not a (strong) father or (alpha) husband, then a lover or priest (i.e., someone who tells them what to think).

I find it astonishing that the irony of having a so-called journalism student call for suppressing my constitutional right to free speech is lost on these people.
