RE: Living in Manila...
Gaijin
Its not just the view of foreigners. Non-pros don't want to be associated with someone who might be pegged as a sex tourist (and when I say sex tourist, I mean someone paying for sex). They'll go out of their way not to be seen with someone who would be identified that way, as the obviously corollary is that the girl is a pro, and thats a pretty hard thing to make people forget. I think if you consider it from that viewpoint, you'll see the value of packing a few extra items. For such a short trip in a warm country, perhaps lighter luggage (like a big gym bag) would make some sense rather than a four kg piece of luggage you'll be pulling around everywhere.

Enigma, I hear you, but the punishment didn't really seem to fit the crime. Maybe its the amalgamation of annoyance at all these newbie posters, but of course, Gaijin is just one gaijin.

Strip away judeo-christian ethics ingraining sex is dirty/bad & the idea we're taking advantage of these girls disintegrates. Once you've lost that ethical quandary (which it isn't outside religion) then they've no reason to play the victim, you've no reason to feel the rogue. The interaction is to their benefit.

Ok maybe I could have phrased that better or without mentioning any names... I was merely trying to say that you had suggested (in addition to my suggestion in that post) that Gaijin should read through RVF threads...

If you think about Enigma's post, he phrased the situation better than me, and maybe even Rio and VP were expressing annoyance by the presumptuous nature of Gaijin's post to be asking a bunch of silly ass questions and NOT really contributing much of any value..... which new guys should consider that before they post outside of the newbie threads.. and before they draft some silly presumptions.... and appear to suggest that guys here owe them an answer as if we were their little bitches. If you think about it many trolls add NO value, as well, and RVF is NOT very tolerate of trolls, if a person is identified as a troll that is...

Anyhow, Gaijin has a chance to recover, if he does NOT go on insulting other members...

RE: Living in Manila...
Man this thread blew up a little bit. Gaijin you're new so here's how the forum works. Use the search feature read through the threads extensively before posting. As far as my understanding goes this forum is designed so that there is a lot of easily accessible information with answers at your fingertips and to keep the answers easily accessible repeat questions are looked down upon (there is also no deleting posts, to maintain quality but this further deters repeat questions/asnwers.)

Rio hasn't made a serious post in weeks, I think he's high on working out and thai pussy lately, so don't get butt-hurt about him fucking with you.

As far as Manila, it is worth it to stick with the posh areas, in Manila Quezon City/Prime is about the only not posh club that you are going to want to go to. Everything else is a shit hole, poor people kind of suck and they are not fun to party with. The city really is somewhat of a shit hole, you will immediately recognize what I can't accurately put into words the minute you step out of the airport.

Hit up Uniqlo, shorts are ok, but put some money into a nice collared shirt, shoes, and jeans. You will notice a large wage disparity in the country and there are some hot well off chicks you will be able to pull with ease if you have game. Stick to Makati/BGC/and maybe hit up Quezon city, you'll have a great weekend.

As far as JJG, don't really read his posts because he usually just gives really general nonspecific advice, repeats what others have said, and ignores logical counterarguments to his beliefs. Most seem to just skip over.

Anyway, for those who have taken the time to answer me, thank you for the advice. If the image of a backpacked and sandaled foreigner is the same there as it is here, I think I'll bring shoes and pants. Wink (For the record, these guys do manage to get girls despite the atrocious attire but it does need to be recognized that they only attract the gaijin-hunters for the most part and end up excluding a large swath of the prime women.)

I did read a massive amount of the posts on other threads but either the answers to these questions weren't there, I missed them somehow, or I forgot that I had read them. I know it's not proper etiquette to come in with questions blazing without first looking for the answers yourself, so I apologize if that's how it came across.

If the topic of "cheap bars that aren't shitholes in Manila" has been discussed somewhere, can someone point me in the right direction? I haven't seen it anywhere.

It's the coconut milk. It tastes great, but gives me the shits and makes me irritable. I'm supposed to be deadlifting right now, but don't want to soil my new white Chuck Taylor lifting shoes.

Gaijin, we get similar questions to yours about SEA on a damn near weekly basis. We've covered it a hundred times. If you read through the threads you will find what you are looking for.

You live in Japan? Well then, drop some info on Japan. You get more leeway in asking stupid fucking questions (I've asked a few, trust me) if you contribute value before you try to ask a bunch of questions that have been covered thoroughly.

To better answer your original questions, since McCloud made me feel a tiny bit like an asshole, you can get laid in shorts and sandals. If you are a younger, decent looking guy, you can still get laid. You won't be getting anything of very good quality though. I wear white Converse, white or blue chino shorts, and a navy v neck around Bangkok in the day when it's hot. Never flip-flops and swim shorts. If I'm going to Paragon or a nice restaurant, I'll throw on jeans or chino pants, not shorts. I hate going anywhere with decent looking Thai girls if I'm in shorts.

If you're an older guy, you won't be getting Gaijin hunters as you call them so much as you will be getting girls who want a sponsor. The old dudes you see walking around dressed like shit with younger GFs are almost all with bar girls or semi-pros, or poor girls who need a sponsor. The girls they are walking around with are not quality girls in any way. They definitely are not young, University student types that they might appear to be because of their age.

I could be wrong in the above since my experience is in Bangkok, but it seems to be pretty much the same in Manila.

RE: Living in Manila...
This girl I had over yesterday wanted to see my pictures of all the girls I had sex with in America. She was straight up begging me. So I showed her my sex tapes I had made with american girls that were on my laptop.

She said "American girls have big poosy" hahaha

I figured this would make her dislike me since she said she hates playboys but I wake up to 8 missed calls and 6 texts from her.

I think she is one of those crazy ones you guys speak of with a kid. On her DIA profile she said she doesn't have a kid but after we had sex she told me she does.

Just noticed Fox was banned! What happened? He was a good contributor living in Manila! Yeah he may not have been the most tactful at times but his contribution was accurate and very useful.

Whats up with the recent trend of seeing valuable contributors (Patron and now Fox) living in true PP being banned due to the over sensitivity of some newbie? Isnt over sensitivity a trait of the weak such as feminazis and beta white knights? Smack talk is part of the fun when hanging with the boys and is a healthy manly thing to do.

Guys,
Lets take it easy on the report button. Thats what betas and sensitive sissies and women do. Not real manly men.

Cheers.

Read up the thread, VP, I don't think it was a newbie reporting him. Gaijin doesn't seem to have been too worked up with FM.

Seems like a bit too much drama .....

G_Global_____ You suggest that I can only post in this thread if I am in the Phils? You suggested something that in response to another one of my posts....

At this point, my projected travels to the Phils have been postponed from early 2014 to mid 2014.. I have mentioned this in other threads.... and in various PMs... I could explain further, but it appears to me that, in reality, you are NOT interested in further details....

Regarding the banning of Fox, I am neither happy nor unhappy. His post 579 above is probably self-explanatory for why he could have been banned... It is NOT like I have information regarding the ban rationale b/c there could be reasons besides that post, such as he may have been a previously banned member..... i was suggesting that the banning may have been the post - b/c the ban came soon after the post.

i am not suggesting that at all, (post what and where you like) and no i am not interested in further details of anyone's travel plans unless there is a track record that indicates that someone says that they'll do something and then they do it. i agree entirely with your sentiment.

personally, i don't think what he said was so bad that he should have been banned for it - its just one guys opinion about another's contributions…i'm sure some might have similar or other negative things to say about many others' contributions, including mine. of course, i am not the arbiter of what's acceptable, so it doesn't matter what i think. you do seem a bit satisfied with the result, hm, since it happened after he denigrated you, hm, which is why i though you might be happy that he was uninvited.

anyway,i don't want to derail this thread any more on this topic. its already suffered a loss today by virtue of a good contributor who actually spends time in the country on topic being banned.

Question: How are filipinos with public displays of affection? Are they more conservative in public, then suddenly frisky in private? Or can I tell if it's "on" or not by seeing if she'll hold my hand, put her arm around my waist, maybe make out, etc?

Surely, you have the right to attribute whatever weight or value that you want to the contributions of other guys. There seem to be RVF rules, however, about how far a guy is allowed to go towards denigrating another member.

I am NOT sure which part of my sentiment you are agreeing with b/c much of the rest of what you say in your post seems to be expressing disagreement with something regarding me. I am opened to PMs regarding these kinds of topics.

I agree that there is a certain value to on the ground observations, and surely any thread can take a bit of a turn off topic or receive "contributions" from an angle that was NOT expected or is NOT to the liking of everyone participating in the thread..... I also think that there tends to be some flexibility with topics in RVF threads, especially when we get into more than 20 pages of posts.

The problem is the mods probably don't frequent this thread much, so they dont know if Fox is actually a valuable contributor, or just a newbie talking shit.

We get a ton of dudes with just a handful of posts who come on here, run their mouth, and get banned. Usually they deserve it. I'd say Fox probably got lumped into this category, which is too bad.

Hopefully it gets overturned, though I highly doubt it will.

It didn't with patron, and he had been around a lot longer, contributed a lot of info on the DR, and met maybe a dozen members, so I really doubt it. Bans are basically final around here.

You say there is a "Certain value to on the ground observations"? As opposed to what? Observations from reviewing online materials while in a different country? I guess I'd say that the single most valuable, indispensable resource is the on-the-ground reports of individuals (subject to their credibility of course being established) in these places.

RE: Living in Manila...
Danger, sorry to have jacked the thread, just was somewhat surprised to see that happen. I think, and hope JGG agrees, we're done on the topic. As he's said, we don't know what happened or why Fox was banned. Let's get back to it in the spirit in which the forum is intended.

Depending upon the topic, guys seem to contribute based on their experiences... and some guys are better than others at indicating source of his information/contribution.

If you are suggesting that some guys may have been attempting to contribute to some topic but should NOT have or did NOT have a basis for contribution, you may need to give an example for further comment in the thread? or maybe by PM to whatever guy... , including me, if that's what it is... I have seen these kinds of discussions in other RVF threads, and it seems that guys opinions are going to vary quite a bit.

You are NOT going to get disagreement from me that personal observations and reports tend to be relatively valuable and carry considerable weight...... unless for some reason they defy logic or defy the weight of other credible reports... so to speak....

I did NOT have anything further regarding the ban situation... but some other guy might?... can't always forecast the direction of thread input(s).. and some guys may NOT have seen these posts, yet.
