another issue: paying advances and security deposits....how do you do it if you have a normal bank account? I'm thinking of bringing a few thousand USD in cash before I land so that I can just transfer it. Last time I was in makati I paid for a furnished condo by withdrawing as much cash as possible from two different debit cards. I'd rather not do that again.

Another question for guys currently in Manila or who have lived in Manila: is there a good place to buy suits or have suits tailored?

I have three cards and I only carry one at a time. I go to a bank and hit the ATM at the bank and deposit the cash right there. Guards with guns everywhere and I don't leave with anything so I'm not too worried.

Using debit cards to withdraw money is DEFINITELY safer than carrying a few thousand USD in cash.

Most condos have ATMs very close by. Just walk and withdraw the cash when you're ready to pay. There's usually armed guards nearby.

My impressions here there are lot of poorer/fc girls in Manila are very easy for the avid notch hound. Same with shoring semi pros. Each to their own, but unless these girls are out of the ordinary, I try to steer clear of these girls.

I would rather go for the highly prize PH girls, who tend to be more career focussed, college students and better off girls. Normally they have plenty of options and of course don't need your money and as a foreigner you may initially have to work harder to brush off the seedy foreigner syndrome.

It was Diane 21/35 - a fucking BIRTH CONTROL pill, not a morning after pill. It's only effective after 1-2 weeks, NOT after unprotected sex.

How the fuck are these people prescribing medications?! "I think it'll work but I'm not sure?!" "I'll just give you the most expensive birth-related medication we have?!" Really?!

Anyway. I looked up the actual (only) morning after pill that's available in the Philippines. It's called Nordette.

I go to Mercury and ask if they have the morning after pill. They said "We don't have those in the Philippines." I ask "Do you have Nordette?" She goes "Yes! We have those." (What the flying fuck?!)

Anyway. For future reference, if you guys ever need it - the morning after pill that's available here is called Nordette. It comes in a box of either 21 white pills or 21 orange pills and 7 white pills.

The instructions on the box say to take 1 per day for 21 days. This is only accurate if Nordette is used as a birth control pill. In the US, Nordette comes with instructions on how to use it as a morning after pill, but those instructions are not on the box in the Philippines.

To use Nordette as a morning after pill, take 4 of the ACTIVE pills at once, as soon as possible. Then after 12 hours, take another 4 of the active pills. Stop. You can throw the rest of the pills away, you only need 8. The active pills are any of the white pills in the 21-pill box, or the orange pills in the 28-pill box. In the 28 pill box, the 7 white pills are just placebo sugar pills.

Surely, each of us have different tastes and differing preferences for girls and whether we question their bang rate or their bang history.

Actually, it's probably better to buy Plan B and bring it with you. The active ingredient in Nordette is Levonorgestrel and Ethinyl Estradiol. From what I read, it's effective at preventing 7 out of 8 pregnancies, or about 88% success rate. The Plan B pill is progesterone based, and 96% effective at preventing an unwanted pregnancy if taken the morning after.

Morning after pills are illegal in the Philippines. Nordette's only allowed because it's also a birth control pill (when taken 1 pill a day for 21 days, instead of 4 pills + 4 pills 12 hours apart.) It's only marketed as a birth control pill, but is effective as a morning after pill as well. But it's statistically less effective than the actual Plan B pill.

So, if you're really worried about it, I'd still bring a Plan B with you.

There are those HEPA air filters made by Holmes that can get almost all of the particulates out of the air in your apartment, and maybe if I only go out at night I can tolerate the Manila soup.

You can also rent an apartment in a high-rise tower in Manila, on a very high floor, like 20+ high floor... it will reduce air pollution, when you open your window, because of increased wind strength and air renewal.

iknowexactly, pollution will not be your main problem. Main problems are :

1 - Dealing with traffic jams. Logistics nightmare.

2 - Sorting through the MANY girls willing to meet. Deciding on which ones you want to meet.

But if you stay mentally strong and organized, you will have fun. I mean, lot of hot fun. Lot.

Here in Makati, the air really doesn't feel all that polluted to me. Before I got the condo I stayed in Malate for a couple nights. That was pretty bad. It's definitely better than Bangkok here, IMO.

Here's a much bigger problem: you can't buy decent hair gel anywhere. I like to have spikey hair, and all the cheapo gels here last maybe 3-4 hours before turning frizzy. I can't find any good gel anywhere!
