I've been in Chechnya and they were very nice people there, courteous and friendly, no alcoholics or Gopniki on the streets. I was invited into the central mosque by a local worshiper who was one of the nicest dudes I've met in Russia. Everyone in the mosque was welcoming and cool.
You say Beslan was committed by Chechens. Yes, and Ingush, Saudis, Kuwaitis, British residents...
The fact is that you start your statement by saying you dislike Russian racism yet you then go on to make racist bigoted statements about Chechens. You are no different deep down than the Russians you dislike it seems.
The fact is that the guys who did this are total cunts and I hope their deaths were painful however their actions don't represent the Chechen people, the overwhelming majority of whom want nothing to do with extremist Islam or the fanatics blowing up schools and police stations in their name and instead just want to be able to make some cash and have a comfortable and safe life.
Haha, good memory on my Central Asia exploits! But you are entirely correct - Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Chechnya - what do they all have in common? Islam!
The other Russian minority, the buriats, are Buddhist and are quite nice and peaceful - have never had a single bad interaction with them.
You bring up a good point, though about the bigotry. As a brown American guy living in Moscow, I've had my share of racism, and dislike Russians for it. But I've seen the Chechens's aggression firsthand, and don't doubt for a minute that they account for a disproportionate amount of crime in Russia. What I object, to, though, is Russians basically disliking anyone who is not white, regardless of their background. This is not an easy position to be in, being the victim of racism but on the other hand, understanding where the Russian racists come from. For all the joking about Indian race troll, Indians have to suffer from being associated with Muslims even though they are probably the least problem causing minority in the States.
From their social networking pages, it is clear that Islam is a major component of the identity of the Boston bombers.
So, perhaps I'm being too hard on Chechens, but we have to be honest with ourselves about the dysfunction in the Islamic world. If, every time something like this happens we talk about the glory days of the middle age Muslim empires or the fact that only a small percentage of Muslims are terrorists, we are ignoring the core dysfunction in the Islamic world. Islam does not respect freedom of religion and instils in its believers a hostility to other faiths.
Yes, Christianity was violent at one point. However, if you compare their biographies, Jesus Christ was infinitely less violent and agressive then Mohammed.
And Christianity reformed. So far i have seen no reform in Islam, and i dont see why we cant criticize the religion until it starts to reform and become compatible with modernity.Islam has always tried to subjugate other religions and has viewed them as heretical and legitimate targets of oppression.
The manosphere is against PC? Well prove it, call the media out on their whitewashing of Islam. If anything, perhaps it will open up new areas for plunder if the region can lift itself out of the Middle Ages.
