Lol. Come on man. No one can just inject cancer into you. Its not possible. The funny thing is that thats what Chavez has believed all along, that US CIA agents caused his cancer. My theory is that he caused it by drinking all that coffee since he was born. He said in an interview years ago that he drank 30 cups of coffee a day.

Ok, doctor.

Why don't you inject yourself with live cancer cells right now and get back to us in six months and tell us how it went.

You should have no problem with this since, "it's not possible", right?

It is great having a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine on the forum with an expertise in cancer research.

Where did you study? University of Illinois?

@GM: Im just going by logic. There is no way live cancer cells can be injected onto someone and having them get cancer, there is no research needed to understand that logic. Or maybe I just know a little bit more about cancer than the average person since Im a survivor myself (10 month remission). We all have cancer cells in our body or should I say regular cells but they die everyday and form new cells, cancer cells do not die and grow rapidly in our bodies. I also dont believe there are "live cancer cells" that you can inject yourself with. If I get injected with cancer cells tomorrow, nothing will happen to me, those cells will probably die out the next day as you need very huge amounts of toxins and drugs to damage them in order for them to rapidly divide and cause tumors. Im not claming to be an expert, but I know my fair share on this subject because I had to learn a little bit of it. Im also not a huge fan of conspiracy theories.

Like I said.

Put your health where your mouth is.

Do it now.

And report back to us in 6 months.
Let's say you got lung cancer and you injected some of those cancer cells into me. What would happen? Nothing other than I would have a massive immune response to the foreign matter in my body. It wouldn't take root like a seed and start growing.

RE: Hugo Chavez Dead
What about the $4.6 Trillion dollars Wall Street stole from Americans? Go complain about that, leave that issue alone for the Venezuelan people to decide.

People have to be careful commenting on Chavez and the Venezuelan situation. Unless you had a dime in the fight, families on either side of it then you can only view the situation as an outsider with a critical mind; and I feel American's have zero credibility to speak without bias on Chavez because they do not fully understand the history of their Country and the region, and the reason hostilities between Chavez and America where always so high. So unless your money or family has been affected by Chavez then you have no business to be slandering him without taking a step back and looking at the Chavez years for what they were.

I do not sympathize that Chavez made it difficult for American Corporations to rape and pillage Venezuela's resources, not do I sympathize for a Latin America leader to be extremely hostile to America and its interests after they have had a long checkered history in destbalising the region. People need to remember that before the Middle East was ever on America's radar - its imperialist and expansionist strategy was always centered on Latin America and South East Asia. When people still rode Camels in Iraq America was running active occupations in the Philippines, or actively stealing and consolidating property in Latin America. America always views the region as its answer to what Africa and South Asia was to the European Imperialists in their times America has had its hands in Venezuelan affairs and has always had direct interests in trying to destabilize the country. From backing Coup attempts against Chavez, funding dissidents, to cross border proxy elements being strengthen in Colombia, to larger push plays present in Chilie. Both internally and externally America has always held that specific region in its cross hairs. Simply for the reason that a strong and viable Venezuela would quickly return the region to its earlier progressive socialist roots and it does not matter if you agree with that style of Governance but culturally for the region it did have a track record of success in comparison to the Western Model.

Wrongs committed by Europeans or Americans did not make Chavez a good President. His country is far worse off today then before he took power by numerous measures. I'm sure there is a measure or two where it's better, but really, people... use your brains.

How do you take a historic international economic upsurge and record oil prices and NOT have an economic success - a Latin American jaguar, but instead rampant crime, food-shortages, inflation, deteriorating business sector? You elect Chavez, that's how.

Chavez was a total nut who has swallowed Leninist-Marxist bilge-water whole. If you even have an ounce of sense, he was a disaster. To the feeble minded amongst you who believe this implies my praise of the conquistadors, seriously... see a doctor.

Tell me what you would differently? 80% of the population was dirt poor and he first took office with a Bank and economy that was in complete collapse with profits being in the hands of a few tycoons.

He has been able to achieve:

Household Poverty ... cut in half
Education rates ... up half
Healthcare access ... up
Infant deaths... down
Life expectancy.. up

Again we in the West talk to much shit as many of our nations can't even boast those stats, which are basics in trying to maintain a stable Nation. Infant deaths are up, and household poverty growing are both growing in America.

Is he to depedant on oil? Yes but so is every other Petrol state, energy in Venezuela still total about the same level % of GDP as Canada (23-27%).

For all of Chavez blunders on Micro money policies the economy still was performing better then America's. Inflation is an issue but it is still pale in comparison to the late 80's and 90's there. Inflation was averaging 65% in those days, way more radical then what is happening today. It is a issue but that comes form Chavez being to stubborn on the SYSTEM rather then simply just running a good system.

Venezuela is simply trying to do basics. Institutional investments we're made, next needs to be solid investment in infrastructure. VA needs a national railroad, get people now with schooling and skills to work building its future - that is nation building.

People like to point to China for rapid mobility for its people but forget it has been a 25-30 year process for them.

Improving lives is just as important as growing your economy. American can't remember the days when your own people were eating dirt and in shacks. Or tend to forget that after the Great Depression your Government took part in one of the largest "Socialist" endeavors, the modern world has seen and spending $9+ Trillion in today's dollars to lay the groundwork for the fostering of the greatest economic rise in history.

We simply can't relate to what was the situation in Venezuela. Nobody in America or Canada is living in absolute poverty where simply staying alive is the goal. You think it would be easy to fix these things then go book a trip down there. Most Developing nation leaders see the problem at hand and simply do no care. The problem is to vast and complex for them to worry about so they just steal money and vacation in Europe all year. I give Chavez credit for at least attempting to put the people first.

In the End, an Awful Manager
(NY Times)

Quote:Reckless money printing and fiscal policies triggered soaring inflation, so much so that the currency, the bolívar, lost 90 percent of its value since Mr. Chávez took office, and was devalued five times over a decade. In another delusion, the currency had been renamed “el bolívar fuerte,” the strong bolívar — an Orwellian touch.

Harassment of privately owned farms and chaotic administration of state-backed agricultural cooperatives hit food production, compelling extensive imports, which stacked up so fast thousands of tons rotted at the ports. Mr. Chávez called it “food sovereignty.”

Politicization and neglect crippled the state-run oil company PDVSA’s core task — drilling — so that production slumped. “It’s a pity no one took 20 minutes to explain macroeconomics to him with a pen and paper,” Baldo Sanso, a senior executive told me. “Chávez doesn’t know how to manage.”

Populist subsidies reduced the cost of gasoline to $1 a tank, perhaps the world’s lowest price of petrol, but cost the state untold billions in revenue while worsening traffic congestion and air pollution.

Bureaucratic malaise and corruption
were so severe that murders tripled to nearly 20,000 a year, while gangs brazenly kidnapped victims from bus stops and highways.[quote]

Again, one LESS dictator is GOOD NEWS.

"Fart, and if you must, fart often. But always fart without apology. Fart for freedom, fart for liberty, and fart proudly" (Ben Franklin)

RE: Hugo Chavez Dead
My guess is the anointed political heir, Nicolás Maduro, will win the next "elections", which will be held very soon.

A clepto-populist-socialist camarilla will then rule an increasingly bankrupt country.

And because they will neither blame themselves for the economic crisis they created, nor blame themselves for their blatant mismanagement; they will seek scape goats and put some bogeymen under the spotlight (both internal and external).

As the economic crisis deepens, they will have to resort to the only rethorical way to go in order to cling to power: Confrontation.

They could, in theory, even go as far as creating a fake war or a bogus coup d'etat and in doing so they would unite the masses under them (instead of cleaning up the mess and creating sustainable growth).

There will be also infighting within the party itself, since nobody in the politburo has the unquestionable agglutinating power that used to be Chavez' trademark. And the Castro Bros will do everything they can in order to keep their vital lifeline of Venezuelan oil; they will thus take sides and actively influence Venezuela's internal affairs.

It's a pitty it took this kind of buffoonery to finally raise social indicators. But even the handouts and subsidies are now under threat because the clepto-populist-socialists broke the country and compromised a great deal of the country's future income.

I believe it will still take a few, or several, years before it gets any better.

RE: Hugo Chavez Dead
Hugo Chavez really exposed how weak Venezuela's institutions have become under his reign. The fact that he kept his condition a secret to the very end and even suggested he was still running the country was bad for Venezuela. Now there's likely to be a contentious fight to fill in the power vacuum. That's what happens when you create a government around a cult of personality figure. Once that figure is out of the picture there is nothing left and the country is left in chaos. A responsible leader would have policies and controls in place to allow for an "orderly" transition after he's gone. There would be transparency about the leader's condition and fitness for office should something occur, in this case a debilitating disease that had kept him out of the country for months. That lingering uncertainty was bad for markets and for the political situation in Venezuela. His platform did do some good things for the poor but stoking conflict between the haves and have nots will not help a country unite and prosper in the long run. If anything, it's simply the flip side of the coin that had been played on behalf of the elites in past presidencies. Chavez angered many powerful people within Venezuela who devoted their immense resources into seeing him fail. I'm glad to see him go and I hope Venezuela has a new leader with a bold vision for reforming the country. The best guy I see for the job right now is opposition leader Capriles.

It's not correct to call Chavez a dictator. His government was the legitimate product of democracy and the people's wishes. The same applies for the present governments of Bolivia and Ecuador.

If they are dumb enough to elect him repeatedly, they deserve the consequences.

The poor economic management and corruption in Chavez's Venezuela is well understood and I don't think anyone would seriously deny it.

Where I have a larger problem with him is his interventionism. His support of the rotten, repressive leaders of Cuba. And his material support to the FARC terrorist group in Colombia. He even took his country to the brink of war to lend weight to the FARC's vulnerable position.

RE: Hugo Chavez Dead
http://slate.me/XPz98i

Anyone that calls themselves a supporter of Chavez and his revolution has to contend with these undeniable facts:

Quote:What has Chávez bequeathed his fellow Venezuelans? The hard facts are unmistakable: The oil-rich South American country is in shambles. It has one of the world’s highest rates of inflation, largest fiscal deficits, and fastest growing debts. Despite a boom in oil prices, the country’s infrastructure is in disrepair—power outages and rolling blackouts are common—and it is more dependent on crude exports than when Chávez arrived. Venezuela is the only member of OPEC that suffers from shortages of staples such as flour, milk, and sugar. Crime and violence skyrocketed during Chávez’s years. On an average weekend, more people are killed in Caracas than in Baghdad and Kabul combined. (In 2009, there were 19,133 murders in Venezuela, more than four times the number of a decade earlier.) When the grisly statistics failed to improve, the Venezuelan government simply stopped publishing the figures.

I don't know how anyone could consider his presidency anything but a failure.

On this crazy issue of injecting people with cancer:

http://www.slate.com/articles/health_and...most_viral

Quote:Most of the research on infusing cancer into humans is decades old. In the 1950s, Dr. Chester Southam gained notoriety by injecting hundreds of cancer patients and healthy prison inmates with live cancer cells. Southam wasn’t trying to give his subjects cancer. Rather, he was testing the efficiency with which the patients’ immune systems would reject the cells. He was so confident that the patients would fight off the invaders that he thought it unnecessary to tell them what he was doing. None of Southam’s patients seem to have developed metastatic cancer from his injections, and most modern oncologists believe the experiment posed little risk to the subjects. (One of the patients showed signs of a potentially spreading disease before dying of a separate illness.) Southam was sanctioned for fraudulent practices, however, and the case helped establish modern informed consent standards.

No evidence that you can reliably give someone cancer by introducing cancel cells to their body. Your immune system would kill them like it would bacteria or a virus. Cancer that we get has to come from some sort of toxin, radiation, or our own cell's genetic mutation.

Hugo's women:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/01/11...55974.html

Unlike most male heads of state, he was single and you never heard too much about his personal life, but rumors have it that he was a bit of playa:

Quote:Chavez met his second wife, Marisabel Rodriguez, two years after being released. She was a gorgeous blonde Venezuelan radio journalist. It was love at first sight and they conceived their only child, Rosines, on their very first date according to declarations they made to El Universal diary.

Well, at least we know the man can get a SNL, rawdog at that.

I'm guessing the point is that, if you stack your annoyance with a habit or tick of Chavez's against the unfathomable weight and pressure of being the man in charge of a nation, and consider that Chavez didn't just mind the store but ran his mouth and put himself out there consistently, your quibble is chickenshit. Chavez may have been a clown, but he had balls, and I'm going to go out on a limb and say he gets a pass for having a voice that annoys a guy on a forum.

I am seeking employment in Oslo, Norway. Any assistance is appreciated.

When I said "Chavez was like a little chihuahua with a high pitch annoying bark. he was harmless." I meant that Chavez was going around and barking his mouth off but he was not a dangerous threat like for example a doberman with rabies. Chavez hosted a TV show that lasted for hours each week where he did nothing but talk talk talk. He loved to talk up a storm and that is exactly what he did any chance he got.

What have you done with your life?

Nice debate tactic... attack arguer and not the argument.

Stuff like that can end up mattering, a lot. Other leaders and future leaders notice that the little yapping chihuahua can't be silenced. It can be disruptive, nourish their own sense of dissatisfaction, frustration, injustice, etc.

I am seeking employment in Oslo, Norway. Any assistance is appreciated.

RE: Hugo Chavez Dead
Let's play the Spot the Difference game:

Bolivian President Evo Morales: said he felt "destroyed" by Chavez's death. "It hurts, but we must stand united in this process of liberation, not only of Venezuela but of the whole region".

Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos tweeted his condolences and gave a lengthy statement on Chavez's passing, saying that although the two had many differences, Chavez's death was a great loss for Venezuela and the whole region.

UK Foreign Secretary William Hague said in a statement:"I was saddened to learn of the death of President Hugo Chavez today. As president of Venezuela for 14 years he has left a lasting impression on the country and more widely. I would like to offer my condolences to his family and to the Venezuelan people at this time."

United Nations, Russian UN Ambassador Vitaly Churkin called Chavez a "great politician" and said his death was "a tragedy".

Former president of Brazil, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, also reacted to the news emotionally, according to the BBC, saying he was "proud" to have worked together with Chavez.

Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper offered his "condolences to the people of Venezuela." He stated: "At this key juncture, I hope the people of Venezuela can now build for themselves a better, brighter future based on the principles of freedom, democracy, the rule of law and respect for human rights."

Author and Member of British Parliament George Galloway sent this tweet after Chavez's death: "Farewell Comandante Hugo Chavez champion of the poor the oppressed everywhere. Modern day Spartacus. Rest in Peace".

Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff - herself a cancer survivor -"Today a great Latin American died. ... On many occasions, the Brazilian government did not fully agree with President Hugo Chavez but today, as always, we recognize in him a great leader, an irreparable loss and, above all, a friend of Brazil."

Ed Royce, Republican chairman of the U.S. House Foreign Relations Committee, had some scathing remarks for the late Venezuelan President:"Hugo Chavez was a tyrant who forced the people of Venezuela to live in fear. His death dents the alliance of anti-U.S. leftist leaders in South America. Good riddance to this dictator."

"...it's the quiet cool...it's for someone who's been through the struggle and come out on the other side smelling like money and pussy."

"put her in the taxi, put her number in the trash can"

polonium can cause death and leave cancer like symptoms, we've had it happen twice in the UK to 2 former Russian agents/spies/government officials. Of course both deaths/murders were attributed to Russian nationals who are living in Russia.

the major case being:
