A part of me suspect that several intelligence agencies had their reasons to try to kill him; anyhow at the same time they could have used something that acts faster, so I'm not sure...

Hardly any people at all have been "lifted out of poverty" they've just received hand outs with rampant inflation as a result.

Businesses have fled the country making the people even more reliant on government checks.

The only reason Chavez has been able to pull this off is due to the oil. Without it he would have been deposed by his own years ago.

Lol. Come on man. No one can just inject cancer into you. Its not possible. The funny thing is that thats what Chavez has believed all along, that US CIA agents caused his cancer. My theory is that he caused it by drinking all that coffee since he was born. He said in an interview years ago that he drank 30 cups of coffee a day.

The man left his country in shambles. For all these years this guy has been screaming up and down about 'imperialism' in Iraq and Afghanistan and for the whole time Venezuela has had a higher level of violence. Vice did a documentary on street violence in Venezuela, anyone interested should definitely look it up. The government refuses to publish any crime statistics. Journalists have to literally visit a morgue and see what they can find out.

Good riddance indeed. This guy had so many onerous policies against private enterprise. I personally know of two foreigners who had their businesses confiscated and derailed by the Chavez government and forced to leave Venezuela where they had lived for years. Under Chavez the government has 51% control of any private foreign company or business, meaning majority control.

Not only that, he used his country's vast oil wealth to promote himself as a larger than life anti-American "revolutionary." He spent his country's wealth in other countries as he saw fit while millions of his own people suffered.

The Castro regime in Cuba definitely wants Maduro to carry the torch but I'm hoping Venezuelans go to the polls again and elect Capriles who was shamelessly vilified by the Chavez campaign in the most recent presidential election.
