Neither the jilted lover nor Amy Adams are presented as any sort of role model. If there's any consistent theme in the film is that relations between the sexes are dysfunctional, which should resonate to red-pillers.

I'd say, pound for pound, that the jilted lover kind of "wins" in the end because in the process of writing the story, getting her worked up reading it, and then giving her a dose of her own medicine, he probably wound up exorcising his demons. It would have been nice if he were not tempted by revenge at all, but as far as identifying with characters, who here hasn't wished for some sort of justice against someone who dumped us?

No.

"Never underestimate the power of millions of lonely men."

Nice to know you think there's only one "correct" way to read a movie. My apologies for asking you to see things from a different perspective.

RE: The Movie Thread
Just watched the movie called The Host (2013)

I was wondering who was Stephanie Meyer, because she was not in the movie as an actress. Later found out that she wrote twilight.

That realization really made things click. Similar love triangle, except every one is happy in the end.

I personally thought it was a B+ at minimum just because the ending. You know how most movies have that happy ending that makes no sense and everyone comes out happy, and you just wish that the bad guys won because the resolution was dumb? This movie did have a sappy ending, but it was easily explainable and it was in line with what the viewer has already seen.

It was not a edge of your chair kinda movie, but a great movie for lazy and easy watching.

I have really shitty taste though.
Would Not Recommend.

I watched Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade a couple of nights ago.

Old man alert.

They don't make movies like that any more.

RE: The Movie Thread
This morning I heard Diane Kruger won the Best Actress award at Cannes, for the film In the Fade, based on the NSU (National Socialist Underground) murders in Germany.

It´s funny how European and American filmmakers are obssesed with Skinheads and other right wing groups. Imperium was released last year as well. Meanwhile hundreds of people all over the world are slaughtered by Islamists almost on a daily basis, but it seems this issue is not worthy of being raised by filmmakers.

My brother and I noticed something similar a few months ago. I forgot what movie we were seeing, but they had three previews in a row about how blacks are perpetual victims, and how guilty white people need to feel.

I'm pretty sure two of them were Get Out and The Birth of a Nation.

I liked Get out, it´s a funny and sometimes scary film. Some scenes were I was thinking: "hmmm, something feels off", are very well directed and acted.

But I do think, there is a bit of SJW Propaganda thrown into it by Jordan Peele.

****Spoilers for Get out*** Like pretty much implying that almost all white people are racist, even "I voted for Obama twice" liberals. Everybody treats Chris in such a very awkward way. Naturally there is a reason for this in the movie. But I´m sure Peele is basically saying this happens often in real life too. The whole neoslavery subtext is way over the top too. With an auction even. That was too much for me. Rolleyes

Despite the Soviet propaganda about the Germans (the Soviets were far more brutal), I really liked this movie. It is an anti-war movie akin to "Apocalypse Now," where what is important is the message -- and the unique way in which it is conveyed -- rather than any truth about the underlying story or incidental propaganda.

I was impressed enough by "Come and See" that I picked up another "Soviet" film titled "Dersu Uzala," which tells the story of the Russian explorer, Vladimir Arsenyev, and his Mongolian guide, Dersu Uzala, in pre-Soviet times. I was blown away by the film! There was no Soviet propaganda and the movie was outstanding.

Then the credits appeared, stating that the director was Akira Kurosawa -- one of the greatest Japanese directors of all time. I was like WTF? It turns out that Akira Kurosawa had always wanted to film this Russian Novel and the Soviets eventually invited him into the Soviet Union to film it. A brilliant film.

I have watched most of the samurai films by Kurosawa, but I have not viewed many others outside of that genre. I need to rectify that situation.

Another film along those lines might be Life Is Beautiful, which is about a man and his son who spend the war in a Nazi concentration camp. I don't want to give anything away, but while the context is depressing the story is beautiful and the film well deserving of its awards.

Also a great movie. I have viewed it several times. Very clever and funny.

I liked Get Out, especially the end and how they broke the stereotype these kind of movies have where people always make stupid mistakes . . . .err can't give much more away without spoiling it.

Lets just say that the new Alien movie is guilty of this and the entire movies suffers because of it.

I don't think that's what he's saying at all--I think Peele is getting at the idea that white middle and upper-class liberals who feel they are helping champion black causes by "voting for Obama" are actually just patronizing blacks (if even unconsciously) and that this type of interaction happens on a daily basis far more than overt racism. I don't think he's equating it with racist behavior as much as saying that the idea that "I voted for Obama, so everything's cool now!" doesn't change things.

Saw this one some weeks ago

English Dub:

Original Dub:

I thought that aside of the style/era/artsy factor for pen swingers such as myself the script would be of interest:

SPOILERS
The alien/humanoid society has enjoyed a tremednosuly long period of peace in which they have forsaken technology in favour of organiccounterparts and live in a paradise like civilization that is ran by a council of women.
One day, sexless metal men arrive to destroy the civilization with little trouble as the peaceful gandaharians have become easy prey and have practically no defenses.
The male hero has to rely on the help of discarded mutants and a disembodied mounstrous brain (also male) to succeed in saving his civilization.

We move between light and shadow, mutually influencing and being influenced through shades of gray...

When Daniel Plainview talks about how he has to win at all costs, I kind of agree with him.
