I hate when I make a carefully nuanced statement, and the other person twists it into something laughably simplistic and idiotic that barely resembles the point I was making.

They fall into 2 categories:

1. bad food + shit service

2. good food + shit service

They never seem to give half a fuck about not looking bored or even looking like they're trying.

I love some good pho and thai food but damn these people SUCK at running a food establishment.

I've had my fair share of service jobs and I wouldn't have been able to get away with 1/4 of the bullshit these people pull.

Also being experienced in the area I know when people are cutting corners and being lazy, they don't even attempt to hide it most of the time. Clean the tables, get rid of tacky decour.

So what's the deal? can anyone shed light on why? Asians in particular chinese / viet / thai (though not as bad) and korean.

I WANT TO LIKE THESE PLACES.

I noticed sushi restaurants don't usually have this problem.

1. bad food + shit service + multiple health code violations

2. good food + shit service + multiple health code violations

3. bad food + shit service + one health code violation

4. good food + shit service + one health code violation

One place around here had a funny story (if you had never eaten there), they got nailed so many times that when the health department finally shut them down, they found another family member to set the business up under and re-opened in the exact same building with a different name. Even then they hadn't learned their lesson and got busted again and shut down for good.

Totally agreed. I think it might have to do with the fact that the idea of pleasant customer service is a purely Western invention and it is lost on Asians.

I second the exception of Japanese restaurants and even dinky little sushi bars staffed by legit Japanese. Always very friendly. I used to haunt a sushi-train hole-in-the-wall operation when I was young and somewhat oafish. I bought the cheapest stuff and took my time eating it. I didn't exactly dress like a million bucks either. A proprietor could have quite reasonably told me to take my scruffy ass down the road to KFC. But the staff were always super polite regardless, which was one of the reasons I kept going back to their place to spend what pittance I had.

I hate people that can't put the fucking phone down. Unless you're in a profession that demands you be available at all times (C-level, doctor, attorney, etc.) then there is no reason to have the heroin box in your hand all the time.

Any highway during morning rush hour I can see more people than not jabbering into their phones at 6:30 in the goddamn morning. Who in the hell are they talking to?

I understand the need to hear a phone for emergencies...but if it's so loud that it wakes your kid up, maybe you should 1) bring the phone closer to you/turn down the volume, 2) turn it down a bit when you have a sick kid, or 3) some combination of the above...

Otherwise I don't see much of an issue with a 6:30 text (and holy shit, how loud/obnoxious is your text notification that it wakes someone up?)

Take this natty wench for example. No way she would have knocked on my door at 6:30 am. No way she would have even called me at 6:30 am.

But because a text is something you can fire off with zero emotional repercussions she does it without even thinking, because she doesn't have to face any real world repercussions for being a rude cunt.

Funnily enough she obviously hasn't lived out in the country before, where there's one butcher, one general store, one post office, one mechanic, one library and one pizza shop. The people you piss off are not simply lost in the crowd the same way they are in the city, and you're going to run across them frequently no matter how hard you try to avoid them.

It was maybe three days before I saw her again and I exchanged pleasantries, though with a slight edge to my voice. Proud of myself that I neither cucked nor resorted to outright rude-ness. I maintained controlled masculine frame throughout, dominating the eyes, and in the five or six times I've seen her since she's behaved politely and submissively toward me which is somewhat outside of her typical M.O.

Guilty pleasure of mine : I spend a couple hours a week playing video games. I fired up Mass Effect:Andromeda. The combat part of the game is pretty fun but it's 90% storyline garbage. I clicked through it all but ended up wasting four hours running around some space base and clicking through the diolague.. Ended up banging the male space base manager. Turns out there's multiple gay relationships you can get into. Fuck this gay shit.

The reality that at least 90% of young children can no longer play outside without a near unending cacophony of "I'm being abducted or murdered" level screaming and yelling. Good fucking God is there anything more annoying these days than when kids go outside to play? Could just be the shitty place I'm currently living but I've yet to come across children playing without the constant screaming and noise making. When I was a kid I never felt the autistic ADHD kind of need to be a squelching brat. Somehow when I was a kid we found a way to play without summoning a blood god. Seriously, whenever I hear a kid scream these days I just blow it off assuming they're overwhelmed being outside and apart from their iPads.

This is one of the things that really makes me think something is fucked up in the upbringing process of kids these days. Food, iPad addiction, something in the water, I don't know. It feels like we're going to be experiencing a massive wave of autism, Aspergers, ADHD, and a variety of other mental problems when these current young child generation comes of age. They just reek of totally messed up brains from fucked up food and having electronic screens shoved in their faces before they could even talk and some of the most abysmal parenting probably in human history by modern adults. Maybe it's just me, maybe it's where I live, could be purely anecdotal, don't know. But it's fucking annoying.
