Everyone pleads not guilty at the first hearing/arraignment. It is a matter of procedure-now his attorney will file a motion for discovery, assert possible defenses, and likely attempt to work out a plea deal with the prosecutor. This is not going to trial....

Sounds to me they probably determined their two witnesses are about as credible as he is, and didn't want to risk it. $10,000 cash and a deferred prosecution agreement is something, which they viewed as better than spending a lot of money to risk getting nothing.

The bond is / was $100k...not $10k. I know normally a person can get a bondsman to put up the entire bond for 10% fee but that doesnt change the amount of the actual bond.

In other words he forfeited the $100k Thats cheap for 16 felonies with 45 years potential prison exposure
