How to fake a hate crime:

1) Have some notoriety. As a nobody, it won't generate as much press and post-attack interviews will be less likely.
2) Make some enemies. If other people have a reason to attack you, it makes the whole thing more credible.
3) Establish a routine. EVERY Thursday night at 11pm is a better time to hit Subway.
4) Pay your attackers in cash or some other untraceable method such as crypto currency or commercial opportunities.
5) Rehearse the attack in a secure location, if possible.
6) Make sure the attack is caught on video preferably with audio, but both should be low quality.
7) Plan an escape route for your attackers. They should be able to avoid CCTV and other security cameras and get to a "transit point" with crowds or multiple follow on pathways or both.
8) Ditch and burn all clothing and accessories, preferably just short of the transit point.

Look, I'm not advocating for lynching anyone, but if there's two white guys in Chicago that absolutely must beat up a black fag, pour bleach on him and leave a noose around his neck, doing it to Smollett right now would be just about the funniest thing that ever happened.

Jussie should be worried. He is a nobody. There are career politicians with far less honour than him, likely sweating over what Jussie might say about their role in this.

One or two of these high ranking psychopaths might decide that the only way to save some face and minimize the threat is if Jussie were cold and stiff.

The best scenario for them is if Jussie were to be killed in a hate crime by a couple of skinheads with MAGA hats, captured on CCTV. Then they could point and say 'See! It does happen!'.

Of course Jussie probably is not worried. He does not seem bright enough to consider future scenarios.

Saner - Nah, if that were the case they'd either have him Seth Rich'ed or OD / suicided.

This is most likely a PR agent trying to generate interest in Jussie, than him coming up with the idea himself. Seems to be working as he is not ostracised or jailed, keeps getting interviews etc.

This was more about him pushing the anti-Trump agenda than his career. Don't let the media pivot this away from Jussie's radical Trump hatred.

I do wonder if, after initially hearing and believing the early reports, the Oscars producers approached him about a featured spot on Sunday. Have him come out, still bruised (with makeup if necessary), and give a Trump-hating speech about MAGA equaling racism and homophobia.

Once I saw the word Catholic in his schooling I automatically knew it was some fancy elite private institution. Tuition is roughly 10K in 2017-2018 according to wikipedia.

^^10k is pretty cheap for a private school. . . That is definately not "fancy elite" level. The private school across the street from me (keep in mind I dont live in a major city) runs about 30k.

It would add up if you have a family with six kids. Few famlies aside from rich ones going to able to eat the eventual $60k per year for private schools.

An uncle of mine ran into this issue as he has 5 kids, first oldest two kids went to expense private school but he dropped that for the last youngest three as it was too expensive (he did it for primary school but didn't continue the prep and HS options). Here in Canada you can find good public schools if you are in a decent sized place that isn't a major city so he just enrolled them into the best public schools for HS.

Somewhat OT, having recently spent time with my niece and nephew, it's an absolute travesty what parents (and let's be real by 'parents' I mean 'their mothers') are naming their kids these days.

Boys aren't named Mike and Tommy and Joe and Paul anymore, and girls aren't Susie, Julia, Jessica and Mary. My niece and nephew thankfully have normal names.

You guys should have seen the fucking roster at school.

Like six kids named some variation of 'Tristan'
