The student teacher walkout - the recent one where unionized teachers in Oklahoma complained about low pay and shitty books? Have to wonder if people participating in the walk out noticed something was odd in her behavior around the kid and told her husband. It's a fucking miracle she agreed to go to the police and confess, but he probably had leverage. He may have been planning his escape already, come to think of it.

A theory on her and many of these other women:

A lot of this had to do with temperament and major choice. Other things factored in, but I am going with major, since someone else mentioned it.

Outside of the hard sciences and religious studies (which are already slanted male anyway), there were only three majors in which we were able to reliably predict certain sexual behavior. These majors were nursing, education, and music. In these three majors we saw a huge, but repeated, variance in sexual attitude and behavior. To cut a lot of BS math short, assume 60% of the girls in these majors would be really sexually open and experienced and the other 40% would be one-boyfriend-only or virgins. It was really stark.

On the female teachers sleeping with students, I have always assumed these women fell in to three categories. First, the psychos - cough, lesbian gym teacher, cough. Second, the extremely slutty women who will sleep with any half-respectable dude who makes a pass at them. These women get locked down, and then get itchy feet a few years in. I wouldn't doubt if they see students as a good option. It allows them to relive their glory years, the student is less likely to talk (or so they think), and if they do get caught, their husbands are less likely to see a 15-year-old as competition. Third, I think you have a set of sexually repressed women. These would be the 40%. They were mousy and unloved in high school and maybe college. They married the first guy they seriously dated. Often these guys are very "beta". A few years of desultory sex and no children, and, boom, the woman starts to go a bit crazy.
