Just found this thread and quickly read through most of the info on here. I definitely agree with what the previous posters have written. One thing I haven’t read much on that I would recommend to some of the other users here is ELAN, which is sort of an international party in Tokyo (usually happens twice a month on Sundays). The girls are limited to Japanese college students while guys of any background are allowed to join. Crowds are hit and miss but can have the occasional hotties. The girls there also are interested in meeting foreigners and most speak English decently so it’s especially good for guys who still don't have much Japanese skills.

Just look up Elan Tokyo on google and you should find it!

Do anyone of you know about jafnet.co.jp? They offer rooms for less than 100k / month on walking distance to Shinjuku, I think that's pretty good. Just worried that it's shitty rooms or something. Anything to think about? I could wire them money and have the room ready when I arrive but I think it's better to go and see the room first even though it means I'll have to stay two weeks in an Airbnb, or what do you think?

How do you guys live in those small rooms? Like 15 square metres. There is not room for everything that should be in a home, most things need to go can't have a big bed, a big sofa, dinning table and a desk. How to use the space?

I'd like to do Muay Thai preferably in the Shinjuku area. I've tried googling but not much luck. Any recommendations? I could consider trying karate or taekwondo too, but I never did before and would rather like to do Muay Thai.

Japan has always been a country that has intrigued me from a culture perspective, having studied Japanese throughout school, but haven't really thought of it from a game perspective.

Would Tokyo be a good place to roll solo for a couple of weeks and do night game, or is it a better place to bring a girl to and enjoy the activities?

What's the average cost to get into the happening clubs? Surely they're not always $80 entry like OP stated?

Its been awhile since I posted but I just came back from Japan last month to visit relatives and I thought I answer some of the queries here, Im typing this on a phone so pardon some of the mistakes.

@Satoshi: In Japan and especially Tokyo, rent is insanely expensive. An example would be 70k would get you a decent place in Fukuoka, itself a beautiful and modern city but in Tokyo, it barely gets you a room. In Tokyo, room prices are generally group into 4 catagories. 1.Good location bad house 2. Bad location bad house 3.Bad location good house and 4. Good location Good house.

Staying near the party area is a big deal in Tokyo. Partially cause transportation is so expensive that it doesn't justify staying out 1 hour away from the scene if you go out alot at night and for game, girls wouldnt go all the way out to meet you, its too mendokusai(troublesome.

Thats also why in Tokyo, not many people hang out in their apartment, it being solely a place where you sleep and then you get out if you want any fun.

Not so sure about the martial arts part but Im sure someone else would be able to help with that. All the best and hope you enjoy Japan man.


@Adrenaline: If you are going to be in Tokyo for a few weeks, do day game together with your night game for the best success. Japanese girls don't plan dates for saturday night on a wednesday afternoon, they plan dates weeks in advance so normally, hitting girls doing day game and planning dates is my bread and butter, night game works too but for a city like tokyo, going out too often and having a tourist mindset can rake up the dollars fast.

Tokyo for me, would be a great place to roll solo, girls are okay with the idea of you going out alone(except for clubs) because they have this stereotype that foreigners are more individualistic so it "should be normal for gaijin to go out alone" but if they do ask, tell them that "you have friends in the area and you might join them soon."

Generally, it would be better to say you live in Japan so an Airbnb would be better(and bigger) than a hotel room. If they ask, say you work in Osaka(or another big city) and would be moving to Tokyo soon. Dont say its an Airbnb, say its your friend's spare apartment and he very generously allowed you to stay there for the duration of your visit.

Clubs based on my experience are expensive and not always worth the cost. Entry could be as low as 3000 or around 8000 depending on the club and which nights you go.
Avoid Ageha like the plague, its out in the middle of nowhere and too crowded for any meaningful game, you lose your girl in the crowd if you as much as turn around for 10secs.

I personally dont like clubs in Japan because of how Japanese girls are very clique-ish and when they say they come in a group of 4, some are hell bend on leaving the same way. So this stupid social pressure can sometimes eat away at your chances and its easy to get frustrated.

A club however is a great way to bring a date. Go around 11pm and escalate inside, Japanese girls normally dont do PDA but the loud music and crowd makes them relax alittle, once you have kino going and you made sure her last train is long gone around 12, its time to exit the club and head for the love hotels/your apartment. Be firm because at this stage, if shes still with you, you are 90% done deal. However, like Zerdame said, it really is in the middle of nowhere (even if you're in Shibuya you need to take a shuttle to get there - think it took 15 minutes - or what I assume would be a really expensive cab)

And yea also agree on the friends factor. Even if the girl obviously likes you, she might not be able to leave her friends

I posted this in the other thread on gaming in Japan as an Asian foreigner but I figured this would help most guys in general navigating Japan.

When you do directions openers, it's a hit or miss. I wouldn't say it doesnt work but it shouldn't be your primary game. It's something you do when you see a cutie on the street, have 10mins to spare, be like "fuck it" and do the openers. The screening time should be the time it takes her to get you the directions. That could range anywhere from 10secs to 2mins. I normally ask for a specific bar or location that isn't the most famous or prominent. 1. You can judge how enthusiastic she is as she helps you 2. It gives you enough time to chat with her to screen properly. If she fails the screen, thank her for her time and next. If she passes the test, act dumb and ask her to bring you there and number close, insta dates are close to impossible in Tokyo especially if she's hot.

I assume you're asking about day game. For me the best places to hit are cafes and malls. In cafes, you can either 1. ask for directions 2. ask what's good to do 3.ask for language help. For the first two I normally combine the two, this is my standard opener:

"Hey, do you know where's a good bar in the area? I was supposed to go to ABC bar but they're closed today(show her a picture on your phone of said ABC bar), you look like you know a few good places haha"

3. For language help, ask her what does わびさび(wabi-sabi) means. Tons of foreigners go around asking simple shit like greetings that when you ask something so Japanese-ish, it throws them off their game and they become curious how you even know a phrase that even some Japanese don't know. Of course, go google what the word means first. It's an abstract meaning that their limited English probably struggle to explain so it's perfect for a funny conversation if you know how to play your cards right.


For shopping malls, target the typical Daimaru, Takashimaya etc and go to the jewelry section, there would be at least one 8. The hottest girls in Japan always seem to end up working as apparel or shop staff. Tell her you are looking for a present for your older sister who's getting married. You can sub older sister for almost any female in your life that is realistic. Take your time as you choose your "present" saying it's for your sister who's very special to you and you want to be very sure you get the right gift. Ask for her opinion(which one would you like if you were the one receiving the gift?) and then throw in a few personal questions here and there to screen her availability. After around 15-20mins, say you need to think about it and ask if she has a name card. At this point I always say "I'm going to think about the gift but I do think you look really beautiful, is it okay if i get your Line/number? Let's go for dinner together sometime." From there on, it's standard gaming and since the average 8 & above are hard to approach in night game setting, hitting them when they're at their jobs have yield results for me.

Yes and no. You probably aren't attractive enough, BUT if they are replying at least then maybe you're ok. you need to be setting up dates though, not chatting on Line.

I still am wondering why you're having such a hard time in Fukuoka though, that place has a LOT more women then men ratio wise. . .it should be easy pickings for you.
