I recently noticed that Doctor Who is back and decided to give it a try despite the show having steadily drifted into SJW territory over the past few seasons. Suffice to say that I made it only until the third episode until I was finally forced to throw in the towel. In the words of my own favorite fictional Doctor*: "I'm afraid the strain was more than [I] could bear:



Despite the usual social justice annoyances (e.g. multi racial English societies living in harmony in the early 19th century) a major contributing factor is that the Doctor's new companion is extremely tough on the eyes, and that would be putting it nicely. My girl and I are calling her Mrs. Potatohead and we were pretty surprised to not see a single negative comment online about her. The worst comments we came across were along the lines of 'I just don't like her'.



Now I'm the first one to admit that actor's don't have to be beautiful to be good or to be successful. But I frankly find this woman repulsive in every single aspect. Not only is she ugly and disproportioned, she talks like inebriated trucker and has the collective grace of a freight train. The thought of her nose alone will most likely affect my erections for weeks to come. Which it was to no surprise to me when I found this:

Gay and bisexual characters have featured in Doctor Who before, such as Captain Jack and River Song, but this is the first time the Doctor's permanent companion has been openly gay.

Although Captain Jack - played by John Barrowman - travelled with the Doctor for a number of episodes, he was not a full-time companion in the traditional sense.
Mackie said it had been "kind of insane" to be the centre of attention since she was announced in the role last April, despite not being seen on screen until this Easter.
"My Twitter follower count went from 400-and-something to 16,500 in about two hours, so that was pretty mental," said the actress, who is taking over from Jenna Coleman as the Doctor's companion.

"But it's been really nice, everyone seems to be really excited. It's sort of like being welcomed into a family and all the fans have been really welcoming."

As a side note: Is it me or have articles finally devolved to a chain of 140 character tweets these days? There is no cohesive train of thought in most MSM articles I come across these days. Anyway, clearly the BBC is doubling down here. Not did they pick what must have been one of the ugliest candidates in the casting lineup but they made sure that she nailed pretty much every single minority checkbox they could think of.

What do you guys think? More importantly, given that Doctor Who is a very popular show in Europe, what does it tell us when we see absolutely zero pushback about any of this? Based on the ratings it seems that that it's fairly well received although I concede that Google's filters probably play a part in this.

IMO this only confirms the huge impact that mental and social programming by the Marxist Left has inflicted on public discourse and the thinking patterns of our young. It seems that every single year we are forced to retreat further and further away from what used to be traditional family entertainment. Clearly this is not the 1950s anymore but when I see Doctor Who claim that [Jesus was black] and that [most of our history is whitewashed] and there is no pushback whatsoever then it very much seems like we have lost the war, gentlemen.

Considering the number of fans saying there should be a female Doctor - with the silly argument of "it's about time there was one, he's an alien, why can't they change gender?" - I don't see why there would be any pushback. They made the Master female in his last regeneration. Where can you go after that?

The show has always been at the forefront of left wing/social justice movements. Go back to the Pertwee years for episodes about environmentalism.

If you want to witness how badly we've lost the war, look up the cartoon Steven Universe.

I remember watching Dr Who as a kid and the storylines were always kind of trippy and entertaining and the alien monsters were cool in how menacing they were. That was the old reruns of the show from the early 60's up to the 80's. But even back then there was a bunch of Lefty horseshit in the stories. The writers for the Pertwee doctor in particular had storylines about low IQ military authority types having to do bad and stupid things because it was their "moral duty." I vaguely remember the Pertwee Doctor being upset that one alien threat to Earth was being destroyed when "all we have to do is talk with them!" Fuck off.

And then the 21st century BBC revives Dr Who.... I knew ahead of time it was gonna be a burning turd smelling like bigfoot's dick. I don't care for much popular science fiction these days, anyway, but I had zero interest in watching one of the new episodes by the British Broadcasting Communism channel. The odd snippet here and there and listening to people who braved that muck have confirmed my educated guess.

As for losing the war-- the reason you don't see much pushback on Dr Who is similar to why I don't watch the show. Namely, who other than a stunted marxist, purple-haired piece of shit regularly watches the new Dr Who? Anyone who isn't an SJW or sexless dweeb tuned out a long time ago. The culture war is ongoing, they still have the upper hand, but we've not lost yet. In many areas we're just getting started.

I watch Doctor Who, and don't mind Pearl Mackey's acting... her character is meant to be overenthuastic and annoying.

I stopped watching after Capaldi's weak performance. The first few were meh, but then somewhere along the line he started getting preachy. There's nothing I hate more than being preached at on TV by a wannabe elementary school teacher.

Such a shame, between David Tennent, Matt Smith, and Christopher Eckleson, Dr Who was on fire with really interesting characters.

Looks like it got even worse.

Yeah you are. The doctors I mentioned above were very good and the stories not so cheesy.

Get on Netflix and watch the episode "Blink". The episode is genuinely terrifying and creative.

That's what got me hooked. The stories were intriguing and interesting. Not a drop of libtard SJW crap going on.

Though, you do get this sense of alpha widow once the doctor chucks his companions aside and they have to settle for their " beta".

Once Capaldi took over, it went downhill and fast.

I watched regularly from the beginning of the new series (2005) until 2013 (checked out a few episodes with the guy who's been The Doctor since 2014, didn't care for it at all). Definitely many episodes that were extremely "family friendly" or even seemed made for kids, but also many - probably the majority - that were definitely for much older sci-fi and sometimes horror fans. There were quite a lot of standout episodes that would have scared the crap out of most kids and some that were very well written.

"Blink" was already mentioned above as such an example. "Silence in the Library" and "Forest of the Dead" was a great two-parter from 2008 with David Tennant (the best of the new Doctors in my opinion). Or "The Girl in the Fireplace" from 2006, also with Tennant.

I used to watch Dr. Who back when I was a kid. In spite of the cheesy special effects and (back then, subtle) lefty leanings, it kept me interested. As someone mentioned, there were trippy story lines, interesting characters, and the Doctor at the time (Tom Baker) was a great lead.

After some Googling to figure out who is who to the best of my laziness, I would launch a thousand TARDIS's for Karen Gillan, but am much less enthusiastic for Billie Piper.
